Does anybody remember the link where you can see the distribution (which account holds how many) of NEM Stakes on the NXT AE?
I really dont know this thread. On my signature, on the second line, there is a link to a thread where people solicited the stakes. This may help. Good luck. half way down the first post of this thread. thanks for your answers, what I meant though is the site where you could see how the NEMstake Asset is distributed in the NXT AE,. For example there was one guy with 10.1 stakes at the very top. yes thanks, holy moly 26.2 stakes someone went shopping 10 pcs = 1 stake right? |

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Yeah. In the end though, the wealth will always be centralized in some form or another. This is no fault of NEM, this is just how currency works. This by no means is to say a fair distribution isn't important; as it is, especially in NXT's case. Thing is, NXT should've made more efforts for a wider, fairer distribution considering it's "Proof of Stake" nature - it's adoption by more people only serves to immediately enrich those who first got on the bandwagon by rising their stashes value. Not only this, but they're also forging more coins because thats how Proof of Stake works. It's like bitcoin. The only difference being Bitcoin's hashing power isn't consolidated into those who hold the most Bitcoins (Unless they've invested into mining tech). Neither of which are ideal. Alternatives to these currencies is why i got interested in NEM. If nem rewards those who spend, and not horde, as a currency it's going to do very well. A currency aint worth nothing if it's not being used for purchases and trade. If the PoI works. NXT will implement it as well. That means NEM should be worth 60 million cap or NXT should be worth 6 million cap. |

what is POI?
Proof of Importance The algorithm rewards people not for being wealthy, but for supporting the network - you are rewarded according to your importance. PoI is the beating egalitarian heart of NEM. This Proof-of-Importance (POI) is qualitatively different from both Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake. Proof of Importance (PoI) is a novel method for security distributed peer-to-peer (P2P) currencies, using the structure of the transaction graph to determine nodes that are structurally important to the overall network. PoI is closely related to Proof of Stake (PoS), where holding units of currency for a period of time gives a person a higher "stake" in the network.

It's been said a few times, that PoI makes emphasis on with who you make transactions. But how can people with few NEMs make transactions all the time, if they quickly would run out of NEMs. So you still need to have a considerable amount at stake and make transactions with someone important to raise your own importance.

You have things to do to get people into NEM. The first look doesn't give "you are welcome" impression. A very very large orange-green image covers almost all. Then there are commands "update 2/12" and so on. Why someone needs to calculate divisions?  This was the impression of my Asian friends. They got some points. The logo is too large and the text should be more international, NEM isn't just some american investor scam? |

Finally working on Windows. Not bad at all! Should all menu items except Dashboard and Transactions have to be disabled in this version? Also Harvesting doesn't do anything or give some error messages.
