Btw NEM wallet looks really great. Two private keys, local and remote seems to be interesting idea. I assume that local private key is only useful if we have wallet file from hard disk yep?

I'm not sure what 2 private keys you are reffering...
There is first a password for your wallet. You can have many wallets but there is rarely a need for multiple wallets if you are the only one using your computer.

Then inside your wallet there is an account (it is represented by address and an optional label) - you can have those as much as you like. When you are creating those be sure that you have written your Private key somewhere safe (especially if it is the importan account into which you are expecting to receive your stake)
You can see your Private key by choosing the option Show private key on the options cog near your address.

Make sure you have backed up your addressbook file an WALLET file. Instructions: http://blog.nem.io/how-to-find-export-or-delete-your-wallet-and-address-book-file/

And make sure you've stored them safely...

If you loose your Private key and your Wallet file - unfortunately, no one will be able to help you bring your XEM back.

Great to have you in community... Welcome!
If you have any questions and/or want to learn more - join us on official forum: https://forum.ournem.com
I go with the same username there so feel free to PM me.

Enjoy your XEM, HF and GL :-)

Thanks.
I joined forum.ournem.com few months ago already Wink

I'm not sure what 2 private keys you are reffering...
When I click option button near to my NEM address in wallet I see these two options:
* Show Account's PRIVATE key
* Show Remote Account's PRIVATE key

So when is NEM going open source?

History shows coins that that stay closed source too long often don't get acceptance in crypto.

Nxt waited over 6 months, we're gonna wait a bit longer.

It's common practice to publish source code

Nxt waited over 6 months, we're gonna wait a bit longer.

Strange history book you have there.. especially for someone capable of decompiling unobfuscated Java class files  Undecided

Pop quiz: was the first Nxt Java file obfuscated?

The decision to stay closed source is the devs but trying to use Nxt the precedent in the face of the evidence... hmmm..  Undecided

I don't think NEM was developed test-driven. The devs wrote a fuckload of unit-tests but not before the implementation of the functionality.
Could be wrong.

Perhaps I got the article (and info provided by kodtycoon) wrong.

Crypti released DPOS. Maybe you can be "helpfull" there ?

DPOS already analyzed:

Reposting...anyone?

What is the recommended number of nodes, nis can support for delegated harvesting?
The default is 1, would 10 be fine?

There is no problem setting this parameter to 10. It won't use much cpu load.

When I click option button near to my NEM address in wallet I see these two options:
* Show Account's PRIVATE key
* Show Remote Account's PRIVATE key

Choose the "Show Account's PRIVATE key", enter your wallet password and when you see that info, store it somewhere safe...
Be aware that your HDD/SSD or any other part of your computer might stop working any time... Be sure to have that info somewhere off your computer or even better off the site (in case your home/office gets robbed, burnt or whatever)

Make sure that your wallet has a strong password/passphrase. (more than 16 characters). Use some password manager: KeePass, LastPass etc...

I use KeePass and it gives you options to store files and notes inside the entry.
I have backups of KeePass on several places and also I have a printed/paper version (stored safely) of all the passwords in there for my family members to use if needed...

No one responded.

WTF do you call this?   Undecided

Nxt waited over 6 months, we're gonna wait a bit longer.

Nxt didn't wait 6 months. BCNext waited 0 days/min/sec from when the first Java file was posted as it was unobfuscated. To a Java dev like gimre (IIRC), Nxt has never been closed source. So why would gimre want to try and hide behind Nxt like that?

Read it again...  over 6 months...  we're gonna wait a bit longer...   Roll Eyes

I read it again. It is still isn't true.

Maybe it should say "The devs have decided to keep NEM closed source for over 6 months"?

To stop this derailing:

https://github.com/kac-/tmp/blob/master/nxt-decompile/Nxt.java (published on 23 Dec 2013)

Now let's stop mentioning "Nxt", use "Coin-that-cant-be-named" instead.

P.S. Maybe gimre mistook Nxt for Qora? They were closed source for more than 6 months. That must be it.

Gimre was annoyed by my close attention to NEM and replied without thinking. Ask Makoto or BloodyRookie next time.

When I click option button near to my NEM address in wallet I see these two options:
* Show Account's PRIVATE key

I am aware of these things but thank you for care of NEM newcomers.
Btw Im still waiting for transaction with Nem stake. They will probably do it manually I guess.

Another question: How many XEM I have to have to start local harvesting? Or in case I just need only some activities on my wallet could someone send me just 1 or less XEM?
