According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

This in NEM's beautiful distribution.  (two large bubbles in the center are both Poloniex.)

And this is why the bubble chart above is sooooo important in the years to come.  https://youtu.be/x23C1sQg6wQ

Seriously, I challenge anybody to show me a better distribution amongst any crypto, or even anything really that deals with financial systems.

Cool chart. Also interesting to see many of the smaller bubbles remain!

I am not in favour of self-moderation.

We were not in favor of it either until it was too much.

I will post my previous post again. Here are the reasons for the moderated thread:

I am 100% for free speech, however, free speech does not entail trolling. I'm afraid people misunderstand this because they also misunderstand what freedom means. Freedom entails some kind of self-imposed limitations. We are free in so far as we don't intentionally harm our neighbor. We simply cannot enter someone's house and kill them or destroy their home and claim we have done it in the name of our freedom. We are not free to do such things and if we do them we have to pay a big price for that. Similarly, with free speech, we are free to express our opinions and thoughts, even disagree and criticize whatever we want but that freedom becomes the seed of destruction when in the name of free speech we allow people to deliberately and intentionally troll and destroy our hard work(without paying any price).

This is not freedom, it looks more like madness and there seems to be a great incentive on the internet for people to do that, because at least for now, they don't have to pay any price for their deeds however dreadful they may be. I am not interested in political correctness, I'm only interested in what is right and what is wrong, and allowing trolls to run free in our "home" seems obviously wrong.

If we have a self-moderated thread it does not mean we will delete every comment which criticizes or disagrees with us. As long as this is done with a minimal degree of decency every discussion is welcomed. But trolling should never be allowed just because the system we use is too dumb to find a way to penalize such behaviour.

This is well said.I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought along this line.

This graph conveniently ignores the fact that 71% of coins are controlled by 6 people (original developers and friends)

Those coins DISHONESTLY are not shown in the above graph.

see

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1022311

Also, "fair distribution" is a lousy argument for coin success. There are dozens of of PoW and PoS coins with even better distribution but they have been  failing on coinmarketcapp.

You next guys are the most dishonest, what about forging on the smartphone, 1000 TPS, and lets not forget transparent forging. All lies in order to fleece the suckers in addition to a long list of scams and thefts

Wow, look at that!!! NEM now has paper wallets.  Pretty exciting and beautiful.

If you would like to get one of these please follow the steps:

1) download http://blockexplore.in/static/vouchergen.zip

2) unzip to your desktop (or preferably a usb or flash drive)

3) open a command prompt and type cd Desktop/vouchergen (or your usb/flashdrive location instead of desktop)

4) then type java voucher

5) print and back up files

Optional: You can put this program on a usb or flash card.  The paper wallets will automatically be stored on your flash drive.  You can print up your paper wallets and you can store your flash and your paper wallets in two different secure locations and know that your XEM will always be safe.  All of this can be done on a computer that is offline too for added security.

If you are happy with these paper wallets, please tip Owon NANEMA-TZVL26-LNYIBB-GOZ7X2-IQ57UR-ZLEWFT-63YZ

And when they are finished, like this.

I would also like to introduce the NEM vanity address generator.  Would you like to have an address with you name in it?  If so, here is how to do it.

1) download  http://blockexplore.in/static/nemGenVanity.zip

2) unzip to your desktop

3) open a command prompt and type cd Desktop/nemGenVanity

4) then type java genacc

5) pick the target that you would like in your address

Three letter words should come really fast, four letter still quickly, five letter words might take a some minutes, six letter words might take some hours, and seven letter words will take days.

If you are happy, please tip A Man.  NAU5O2-TNS7N4-WB5TKZ-SYSAQF-VWBVYU-3Q7FUC-KERB

You can use Poloniex or one of the exchanges.  Or you could use one of the paper wallets mentioned above!

i want to buy a lot of NEM and i want to know when did the socks become the stakes?

Last day for sock claiming is April 30th.

I'm about 50 PMs behind that I need to answer, so I will get to those this weekend. I won't have time to go through all the PMs before Sunday I think.
