Another question regarding delegated harvesting, do you have to stop and restart delegated harvesting every time you change the remote server?
I havnt harvested any blocks yet and am unsure if im doing everything right.
I activated deligated harvesting on launch day and was running as a local node at the time as i didnt know much about how it worked.

No, it is not necessary to stop and start but probably is a good idea. No need to deactivate delegated harvesting. You can use it locally too if you want to.

If you change servers  it will say delegated harvesting is stopped. But it may still be running on the other server. There is no advantage to harvesting in more than one place. If you change servers you may not see the list of blocks harvested. But the amount harvested is in your account.

Why not run your own? It is free and easy. I will be posting a new tutorial for a free windows VPS soon.

I will look at running one soon when i get a raspberry PI and dont need to leave my main computer running in my bedroom 24/7.

Anyway, how do i tell if delegated harvesting is working?
I have no idea if it is or not.

Im also getting this error now for whatever reason, was working fine earlier today.

The NEM Infrastructure Server (NIS) is not available. Try to restart the NEM software. If you are using a remote NIS, check your configured host for typing errors or use another remote NIS.

If the NCC client says "Delegated harvesting is active" and the button says "Stop delegated harvesting", then it is doing what it is supposed to do.

I'm not sure about the error. maybe it is a network issue, or something happened to the server you were on?

I dunno, but it appears to be OK today. Still havnt harvested a single block since launch though.

Some good news: NEM is open sourcing its Core.

Still the price is going down and no interest showed! 

Yeah OK...  like all the potential future projects using the NEM platform that might increase its value are supposed to be Up & Running a couple of hours after the announcement...  

Right now need more people who have confidence in NEM, price is a Filter

Just wondering the price of NEM is low these days because:
1. Some sockpuppets and late Stake redeemers were allowed recently to have their Stakes redeemed.
2. Or such redemptions are yet pending? And the reason is something else??

No and no. We haven't had time to send out late redeemers or socks yet.

The reason for the low price is because people keep dumping at 10-20 BTC at a time to push the price down to buy more XEM.

UPDATE: The first batch of extended redeemers and cleared socks will be delayed somewhat as I am writing a paper (for NEM) and I need to focus on that. We'll try to send out the first batch around 4/26.

Your NEM client stores your private keys, addresses and other valuable information in .wlt (wallet file) and .adb (addressbook) files.

It is wise to have proper backup of those files.

You can locate them if you use Windows here:

C:\Users\[your user name]\nem\ncc\

 

Both files will have name same as what your wallet is named but they will have extensions .wlt and .adb

Make copies of them. Remember they are protected with password you've set up for your wallet. Make sure you don't loose/forget that password.

Warning: Please do not use the built-in feature to back-up your wallet! Most likely it will generate incorrect data and backup will NOT be usable. We appologize for this issue, it will be fixed in the next release.
