Anyone with the same problem?

Miner keeps to put GPUs in idle performance claiming that no work is available from pools...after a few seconds it will state "Work available, resuming" and so on until I shut the miner off.
Strange to say, it's actually mining as the pool shows the correct hashrate...

it would be great if someone added a pre-compiled version for windows containing the opencl files and bin files for all the latest amd cards

p.s. i tried in so many ways to run my r9 290 (non x) on windows 8.1 following what i read here but for starters i'm a noob and the best result i got so far was seeing the hashrate go to 4.2mh/s but i wasn't getting any work from the pools and i was seeing HW errors, so i decided to roll back to my older drivers and wait for a revised or easier to run version for windows.

This version was designed with 14.6 driver in mind. If you are using win 8.1 then you have no excuse to stay with the old amd drivers

New 14.6 drivers cause ~ +10*C (290) temp increase. What's the point? X11 coins were made to work fine under 80*C at 30*C+ ambient in Summer.
Now we draw more electricity, overwhelm cards just like before with Scrypt.

The most optimal solution is to have stable drivers + extracted AMD dll's, minus 0.3-0.4Mh (280x-290)

With decent airflow, my 290 rigs didn't go up that much, they're still running ~72C which isn't terrible, but the fan speeds have gone up quite a bit. Still nowhere near how scrypt was cooking them. Get some box fans maybe? haha

Does anybody noticed very big hashrate drop (for N-factor algo) on 14.6 drivers?
My R270x produces only 158kH, previously on 14.4 drivers it was 230 kH !
Sometime I mine X11, sometime adaptative n-Factor.
N-factor looks totally crippled!
Any ideas what to do?

Regarding the compilation under windows, you have to install mingw (however everything step is explained in details in the doc/windows_build.txt

Once i get it working on BAMT with my 290 Tri-x's I'll definitely send some brother!

Do 14.6 drivers capable to run 6 GPU's in win8.1? I've already tried to install but only 5 GPU's are running okay, can't get rid of code 43 error for the 6th gpu. Any clue?

I have these inf files but they do not match the inf files from the 14.6 RC2 download

in the  folder AMD\AMD-Catalyst-14.6-RC2-Windows-June23\Packages\Drivers\Display\WB6A_INF

the inf files are :
C7173243.inf
CU173243.inf

but in the dropbox version I see :

C7172180.inf
CU172180.inf

which does not match the names of the MSI files which are C7173243 as well
help please ?

This .inf only work for 14.6 RC1. AMD has taken it off their website but you can get it from Guru3d

Ok thanks for the update on that , I am running RC2 on one box and only 4GPU are active but the hash rates are isane :

geting 5.2 MHZ on a r290 clock speeds at 970 mem at 1350 intensity 21.

will my speeds drop with RC1 ? I wish there was an inf file for RC2 but i guess i will use the RC1 modded drivers for now since I need all 6 gpu's running

Does anyone know what xintensity = I17 for a 280x? I have a rig that is mixed 270x/280x and can't figure out the conversion for x11 (can't use both intensity/xintensity at the same time). I know that 270x uses xintensity 512 for x11 (weird to me since it uses 4 for scrypt). I'm not sure what the new xintensity formula is for x11?

Guys, all of you don't tweak Engine/Memory clock much? Because in 14.6 Beta you just can't.
Same goes for fan speeds, sgminer doesn't control anything, so even I said holding them at 75% it went 100% on X*290 machine one time.

Also the temps spark +10*C (up to 80*C; 14.6 beta vs 13.12/14.4) which I feel a bit of a struggle to manage under 40*C outside summer temperature.
As far as I remember I had several times when temps were going just around 70*C under same conditions with same external fans.

Yes, you are right.
I can't change Mem and Gpu clocks to lower than bios default.
I will leave 14.6 bin files and try with 14.4 drivers... everybit of energy saving is important for my power bill.

Update: Yes, with 14.4 I can change clocks up/down as I want.
