I'm only mining on 1 S3 so far, so only around $65 a month I am getting
If you don't mind sharing can you tell me where you are mining that makes you $65 a month? Thanks. he/she is getting $65, not MAKING $65, unless at a college dorm or in zero electricity cost apartment. My mom covers the power bill so I am making the whole $65 :p its about right for a single S3+ unit.

Your mother should be making you pay for the extra power.

If anyone is thinking about upgrading to the new firmware because you read that if you set the frequency to default before the upgrade or after the upgrade, note that either of these doesn't help. I did both and still have the same results. Some of my miners would eventually drop hashing down to less than 50Gh/s. Just use the previous one for now and hope they fix the reset button in a later updated firmware.

Don't be in a hurry to update firmware and only do if there is a real need.
I have 5 S3+ and 8 undervoltaged S1s. Have updated cgminer a few times but have never upgraded the firmware on any of them.
Why update the firmware when all is working fine? May do in the future to undervoltage the S3s. But I haven't touched any of them for over a month and they're running great.
Currently making 1.5 BTC/month on about 3.5 Th/s with slush. Last month electric bill about $330.
Used the free time replacing my radiator on my 240SX I bought new in 1993. It was leaking and running on a temporary patch (Quick Steel). Now there was a need!

Some of my S3 drop down in hash rate too over time on the web UI and a reboot fixes it but on the pool side, the hash rate stays high even though the web UI shows low. Not sure if its a bug with the web UI.

Will I have much of a performance hit if I undervolt my S3+. It is currently running at stock 0725. What setting will it still run stable and have a relatively similar hash rate. Is this recommended for the rig to run coole? I am in a high ambient temp environment. What are recommended settings for a high ambient temp environment?

That is the lowest voltage mentioned in the BM1382 datasheet (the chips inside S3's), so I'd say you are undervolted to the hilt according to bitmain. I am not sure how low the voltage regulators used will go, but I'd guess you'll need to modify some hardware (caps? / resistors?). As far as I am aware, there are no recomended ambients as the rig will try its best to cool the chips, thus running the fans faster (and louder!). You could try reducing the frequency, but I doubt you'll maintain the hashrate, more like it will drop, and I am not at all sure that will reduce the temperature either.

Pardon folks, Is there an official ANTMINER "S4" Discussion and Support Thread> I purchased an S4 directly from BITMAIN. It arrived today and while the LED lights up, it doesn’t display any writing. It’s completely blank. I’m hoping some experienced folks here might be able to help but need to land in the right forum for S4 help. thanks

Thanks for the quick response. I figured that thread was simply for the Sale and not official trouble shooting. I'll send my details there in hopes for guidance. Thanks again.

So are you saying Bitmain ships it undervolted at the max undervolt setting already?

I can not say definitively that 0725 is the max undervolt setting, but the BM1380 BM1382 datasheet lists 0.7v as the lowest voltage setting; it is possible that you can set it lower (and there is nothing to stop you from trying!).

I just got 2 S3's to replace some S1's One is hashing perfectly, the other first climes to about 200 gh/s, and than it drops back down to 10 and sometimes 0. Anyone had the same issue before? I've tried another PSU and different pools, but with the same results

How are you powering these miners? Also, what is the ambient temperature of where they are located? If you still can't get it working correctly, best to contact bitmain support directly as it's a new unit.

this line in my web interface "scheduled tasks"
0,30 * * * * /etc/init.d/cgminer restart
restarts my miner every 30 min. What do I need to replace the 0,30 with to have it restart every 2hrs ? I'm guessing 120 but I wouldn't bet a finger on it !

Their new to me, not brand new I flashed them with the second to last firmware, this seems to help a bit. Miner status now gives a good gh/s, the pool gives only 50% of the gh/s...

Has anyone noticed an issue with a S3+ where it slows down to ~10% of normal speed (50GH instead of 500GH) after running for a few hours?
I have a S3+ that sporadically does this, and need to restart cgminer to fix it.
The issue is probably either with cgminer, my mining pool (solo.ckpool.org), or PSU. I'm running two S3s on a decent 1000W gold PSU, so I don't think the power supply is the issue.
I'm also using the latest Nov 26 firmware.

Is that a new S3+ and / or have you updated the firmware to the November release? Ther have been several reports of rigs upgraded to the November firmware slowing down, and the symptoms look like the ones yours is displaying.
