Thanks for the bootstrap but i couldn't get the files stitched together in Ubuntu. I tried a few different ways. I haven't got Windows cos my friend says it gives you knobrot. If possible please could you upload it as a .tar.gz or something like that, or just the whole .dat to mega. Thanks! And wot's a weaver? No. I will do one better. What I will do is this. I will create another release on the Github as a tar.gz Cheers!

Well we are talking over 1 million blocks. In terms of an estimate, it is hard to say because it is down to processing power, memory in your computer and other varying factors.

OK I am happy with the DarkSilk code and about to generate the genesis etc. However now it is logo decision time. I threw a mock up together in a few minutes as an idea: https://i.imgur.com/N6gvKbw.pngTime for the community to come up with something. Since you will be seeing the logo a lot, I reckon it's a good thing for the community to get involved with.

That's worked for me thanks. Been importing for an hour or so. Last time it took me over a week of starting and stopping it to get synced (seemed to get stuck every 50k blocks or so), so even if it takes a few hours it'll be a vast improvement. This thread's hella cryptic at the moment. Exciting though.

If there are any changes or pull requests I would rather deal with that prior to launching and potentially having to hardfork. However I am confident that my code is good to go. Apart from the logos/graphics. Thoughts?

OK so I have created a GitHub repo of DarkSilk. The code is pre-genesis creation and up there for other developers and community members to review. Once any suggestions have been made and everyone is satisfied with the code I will generate the genesis block. Port numbers, magic numbers and other parameters are subject to change. The repo will be removed after the review period and then pre-launch will begin. https://github.com/SCDeveloper/DarkSilkONLY DOWNLOAD DARKSILK FROM MY GITHUBI have also logged the DarkSilk source on the Bitcoin blockchain using Proof of Existence. Am I understanding it correctly. There'll be 45m pre-mined for swapping and then a further 45m as PoW rewards?

Am I understanding it correctly. There'll be 45m pre-mined for swapping and then a further 45m as PoW rewards?
No. In the code currently it is set to a 45,000,000 DRKSLK instamine on block 1. This is set currently to a 1:1 ratio (roughly) with the current Silkcoin supply in circulation (subject to change). There will be 420,000 where mining PoW blocks is possible as the code states (again subject to change). However PoS happens after you have 42 confirmations so not every one of those 420,000 blocks will be mined as PoW but as PoS. If every block of the 420,000 was mined at 42 coins per block then the total coins mined would be 17,640,000 DRKSLK. So to calculate an exact total mined is not really possible as it is down to people staking on the network and also the amount of miners on the network. (How about the other features of the wallet? What do you guys think to those?) https://www.google.com/search?q=the%20answer%20to%20life%20the%20universe%20and%20everything&rct=j

I'm not sure how I feel about a second PoW round for SILK, what's the motivation behind it? I don't hold a massive amount, but enough to wish I'd been a part of any discussion about measures that'd lead to the dilution of holders' shares. I'd be interested to hear other people's opinions on it. Is this being discussed somewhere else?

Also it's not replacing SILK and there is no second round of PoW for Silkcoin. DarkSilk is an entirely new coin with the opportunity for Silkcoin investors to buy in below the market price upon launch and continuously throughout its existence.

So darksilk will be mined. Silk will not be for now.. Or possibly if we were to raise the supply.. But also possible that a good chunk of silk will be burned darksilk.. The weaver is not finalised.. So there's also the clams style option, block chain scanner option, standard swap option (,if it was one coin.. But its two) or my preference a burn style option. What the original premine is intended for. Any silk user can burn their silk dark.
