Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I have a question regarding POS:
why a smaller block with weight of 5100 and age of 10.08 stakes first and another one (twice so big) with age of 11.9 and weight of 13500 struggle for 3 days to stake and........nothing? Sad

the coins with 13500 weight have 2.6x more chances of staking than the coins with 5100 weight but luck still plays a factor

id like to think of it this way... you need to get a score of 25000

you roll a 10sided dice and the weight is the multiplier

the smaller block rolls a 5
5 * 5100 weight = 25,500

the bigger block rolls a 1
1 * 13500 weight = 13,500

the smaller block gets a score > 25000 and finds a block

in PoS, the target score is the difficulty
Thanks..
i guess my small blocks have more luck as the bigger ones Sad  (another small block just staked and the big one is still struggling)

This is odd, I have never had any particular problems here. Which version of the wallet are you using?  I would try the beta release that helps a bit with syncing https://github.com/presstab/HyperStake/releases/tag/v1.0.6.5

If still no dice, then I would recommend the bootstrap method - downloading bootstrap.dat https://www.dropbox.com/s/cjdj337wm1hzfv7/bootstrap.zip
Delete everything in your appdata HyperStake directory except for peers.dat and wallet.dat (get to it by clicking start button, then type %appdata% into search).  Put the extracted bootstrap.dat into the folder.

Start HYP through terminal - "HyperStake-qt.exe -loadblock=bootstrap.dat"
This will load up the bootstrap, and scan it from the splash screen. It can take 30 minutes or so and will use up significant CPU resources. Don't click the splash screen or try to interact with the wallet or it might crash - bootstrapping is very touchy.

Not sure why you would have syncing problems on this block in specific.

There are quite a few features that are being worked on right now. The best place to read about them is in the HyperStake Development Journal https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=784363.0

It's a problem if small blocks stake before the bigone, when your big block will stake, you will earn more at this moment...
For ex : if your block stake at day 10 -> you earn 100 but if it's at day 15 you earn 150 ... later but more coins ...

I must say I am impressed on how stable this market is and am also surprised as how the community of "HYPsters" stick together along with the ever expanding technology that the coins founders seek.

Great work HYP community!  Smiley

Nope.

That's down the line. Get enough people together to pledge to go there IF they accept HYPE and pay an advance in HYP. THAT would be step one. Organize it and set a tentative date, step two. Then approach them about accepting HYP.
