question

do i need to open my wallet for the coin to stake?

Minimum Age - 9 days

it says minimum age 9 days?
so for 9 days my pc has to be online?
please explain to a nub

Minimum Age - 9 days, this means that as soon as you put the coins are in your wallet they will NOT stake until 9 days later. For best results make in to blocks of 1600.

The wallet must be open to stake

another example

Proof of Stake:
- Starts at block: 3000
- Min. Age: 24 hours.
- Max. Age: 48 days.
- Interest: 3%

my wallet should be open for 24hrs?

You will not receive your staking interest till AFTER 9 Days, so make sure you have your wallet open in 9 DAYS time!  Smiley

You can open and close your wallet whenever you like, but you will NOT get your staking interest till 9 DAYS from when you put the coins in!
So you can now close your wallet and go and play the banjo for 9 days, then open it, leave it open until it stakes! 9 days later or there about!

Think of staking, as mining. Your coins age is your hashing power. You miners do not work until your coins are 9 days old. After 9 days your miners will turn on. But, since it is mining, there is still luck involved and you might have to wait a few days with your wallet on to get your stake.

To elaborate on presstab:

We have a proposal for a very nice richlist. The owner only wants BTC, though. We have five possibilities and we'd like your opinion on this.
1. We sell HYP to obtain BTC. Pros: simple. Cons; this massive sell would hurt the market
2. We ask BTC donation from the community (0.25 BTC). Pros: it doesn't hurt HYP. Cons: We need YOU (and us) to donate BTC
3. We decline the offer and build our own richlist. Pros: No further dilemna, custom-made richlist wish suits our needs. Cons: getting a nice richlist will require time and effort
4. We stick with present richlist. Pros: No further dilemna. Cons: below-average richlist
5. Other propositions

So you tell us. 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 Smiley

Look at our block explorer and rich list. He is .1 btc for it. I was about to pull the trigger on a .25 btc explorer when This guy contacted me and I think it looks descent especially for the price.

I'm not going to lie, your block explorer and rich list are pretty damn sexy. In the case of Hyperstake I'm not sure this is the right time to sell off 55-60k of HYP for a feature that doesn't add any real value to the coin either commercially or financially. I'm not adverse to donating BTC for a feature like a richlist or blockexplorer in the future though  Smiley

Yes same here Ill be willing to donate some for a richlist / blockexplorer but i prefer to donate Hype to a community member if their willing and able to create this.
Someone that will stake the hype instead of just insta dumping it for some btc.
ill donate 3k hype to biomech if he can make it happen and im sure others will be willing to donate some as well.

Ill pay 3k hype bounty for block explorer rich list.
Anyone else want to add to that number feel free Smiley

I forgot to mention than the said very nice richlist is the Advanced ABE used for NOBL.

I like this analogy, one of the best I found to explain the stacking part of PoS.

By the way, a fun things, double minting at the same time. First time it happened to me, twice (the first one is just faucet arriving at the exact same time as GRW minting). For the pleasure of the eyes.

At this time, I don't have enough time. I am against the wall with my job and with my life. I'm not a programmer, so I'd be bashing it together. But if nobody beats me to it, I'll give it a shot down the road a bit Tongue I appreciate the offer!

Looks like someone is in a hurry to buy a lot of HYP, both exchanges got a good spike.

I can help with a block explorer and richlist, but I am extremely busy at the moment. I have an arbitrage bot I am coding, a local/regional business I am helping launch, and a the framework of a new tv network website that I am helping create. So I am a bit busy, but if we want to get a repo going on github ( I have an account and can make private repos too) I would be happy to start helping out with it. Unfortunately I don't know much about block explorer code.

Here is my monthly update of my high PoS index.  This chart takes into account stakes that would have occurred over the time period and the trading price.  HYP is still performing pretty well if you have been staking it.  Also it is easy to see that HYP is the most volatile.

Community Update

Hi everyone! It's been a quiet week for us, so there's not a terrible lot I need to ramble on about before you can get on with your weekend.
We seem to have reached a consensus on one of our goals this week, and that means we aren't willing to liquidate our little staking bounty
project for something trivial like a richlist. While we will come to further decisions on that in future, I think that most are in agreement
there are better things we could bounty out for. I've been watching with great interest the two coins who came out with android staking
wallets this week. I would love to see that here in Hyperstake at some point, it seems a feature that high POS would greatly benefit from.

There still needs to be some activity on the larger exchange front, I believe that David has put feelers out on the Cryptsy website so we may hear
more about that soon and how to pitch in to get us noticed. In the meantime I also believe that Poloniex is a noteworthy exchange, they
are particular about developer visibility and stable code, both of which we have. I will leave that as a new discussion the community can have.

As presstab has mentioned he is extremely busy in real life right now, and David also has several commitments. As for me I am planning to
take my summer holiday soon so you'll be rid of me for at least a week! Cheesy But all of us are always here intermittently, ready to field any questions
and show that as a team we try to be in regular contact and bring new ideas to the table. Your suggestions help a lot in that, so thank
you for keeping the thread interesting and active. As you can see now that the initial work has been put in, HYP is still holding its own
on the exchange and anything we choose to do in future will only take us further ahead. At lightspeeds Smiley

Have a good weekend guys!
