How is that possible with the PoS-coin and a limit of a maximum of 1000 coins?

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Ignore that! I will fix that for the release I am putting out, probably tomorrow. That is the last PoW difficulty.

You can try this until then:

Code:
16:29:52

getdifficulty

16:29:52

{
"proof-of-work" : 15.58275963,
"proof-of-stake" : 0.39063105,

New wallet might be delayed a bit.  Some great GUI enhancements are being added. I am waiting for some final releases of our new icons so that we can update the GUI all at once.

Sorry to say so, presstab, but I really don't like the black background (plus, it is not consistent, other wallet window are not black). I find it overly agressive to my eyes.
Would it be possible to choose the background color? That would basically mean integrating theming support, which is probably non-trivial but my (only) eye would thank you.

Edit: I updated the glossary with Dust and Proof-of-Stake, each time including a substantial quote from Presstab.

I also added this on the main wiki page and I'd like to be sure I am correct
Quote
* Inflation control (should limit compounded interest, whilst still keeping APR at 750% and ensuring a strong network security) - max_subsidy (no more than 1000 HYP from one block, encourages spreading the block, which in turn secures the network and limits coumpound interest), and max generation per day (no more than 960000 HYP can be generated in a day)

Good job on the progress everyone. I promised a wallet, but still have some tweaking to do with the GUI before it is ready for official release. If anyone wants to mess around with my current build, you can find the windows compile here - note that this is a prerelease https://www.dropbox.com/s/msbc8mpgkrs2ook/HyperStake-qt.zip?dl=0

Downloaded and gave it a quick test.
I have to agree with David about the colour scheme, too "aggressive".
Would be great if you can change that or even better let user choose what they want.

Regarding the auto spread and split feature in cc as mentioned earlier, with current difficulty its not needed any more.
I have given up on the spreading.
But maybe you could change the way the stack gets split ?
Currently it splits every stack in 50/50 regardless the amount.
It would be a great feature to only split stacks above 1600 or whatever value user prefers.
Orbitcoin is doing that if I am correct.

I agree that is why this is a prerelease.  The color scheme is lifted from another coin and needs to still be customized for HYP.  Changing the block reward would require hard fork so maybe we can figure out a work around that wouldn't require mandatory updates.

Looking forward to the next test release.
Btw. I have noticed that other projects are also working on a different look, too bad that most start to look the same, that is copying the "new" looks.

I think on the long run we should really try to create a brand new ui from scratch.
That is radically change it from what I currently see.
Have a look at NXT or NASwin to get my idea of completely different ui's.
In line with the logo contest, maybe we should go for a ui design contest ?
Please note :I am talking about somewhere in the future so long term.
Of course you would have to do the coding as usual. Wink

I don't know if splitting stacks at a certain value would mean a fork.
Would not surpise me that a simple tweak in the code of CC would do the trick.
Maybe you can check orbit the see what is needed ?

What I meant was that changing the block reward to pay out 1 large block instead of splitting into two different blocks would require the fork. Splitting and combining blocks after the coinstake transaction shouldn't require any forking.

And yes I am always on board for graphic designers to help out. We still have a few more icons to replace in the wallet, and I am going to see if I can get the awesome background the zeewolf made added into it as well.

I think right now I need to focus on the following additions/changes to coin control:
- make combining staked blocks easier/quicker
- make coin control fee estimate more accurate
- maybe use s4c logic to automize some of this process?

Carnage!

Looks like the buy orders over on Allcoin are all but gone, and on Coin-Swap the buy's have dropped down to 140 SAT.

I don't remember seeing the price this low in previous drops.... Sad

I was able to pick up some coins for super cheap in the sell off. I am not too worried. Markets (especially coin markets) move in waves, but tend to move towards a long term price over time.

I'm betting whoever dumped out now is kicking themselves!

Had no idea Poloniex was coming - great news, especially seeing the prices some people have been buying for there.... Smiley
