I have 4xR9 280x + 4x7950 + 8Gb RAM/system, win7 64

This my config (http[Suspicious link removed] --scrypt-chacha -o stratum+tcp://stratum2.tumblingblock.com:5555 -u worker -p x -R 2560 -g 1 -w 128 --buffer-size 2590 --lookup-gap 8 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1250 --nfmin 4 --nfmax 30 --starttime 1388361600

But all VGA are in turn being sick - dead...

What I wrong in that? you please just help!

@springdev

you havn't enough system memory. try it with 2 gpu and your config will work... so with 4 gpu you should rise your system memory or try it with -R 1280 buffer-size 1295, but these results will not satisfy you.

good luck

Oh well..at least we are still above Vert.  Cheesy Fabietech will be happy Grin

Vert is dead and Ultra is still stable.

Seems Vert has had CPR - above UTC now?

Thx. But the problem is my system with 8GB of RAM (not 4GB). And I've been mining UTC + NF14 very stable in 4kh / s. Has anyone encountered this problem? And how you solved?

8gb isn't enough for those 4 cards and decent settings at n15.

If really need more than 8GB of RAM for NF15. So UTC anti-Asic and anti-VGA +++
I do not think so!

Don't be deceived by fools!

If you run a LINUX OS, you don't need more than 4GB of RAM at NF15 OR NF16!!!! Windows is a different issue...

I will be back for the GREAT discussion with Hilux and Kracko.
Who are you calling fools? You need to STFU and GTFO. Just my two cents.. Undecided

If you don't understand how something work don't fool people lol! Ram have nothing to do with the card after the start of the miner because it is used once just to carry the data to the card. The actual problem with the dead/sick gpu's is caused by the vram clock.
BTW 8 gb ram is enough for 6 gpu's and even with 4 gb you can run 6 gpu's no matter what os you got.

You clearly do not know what you are talking about. Scrypt-N requires huge amounts of system ram. And even more system ram will be required as we go forward in time. That's the whole point. That's how ASIC-resistance is achieved. Just...**facepalm**

Do you know the difference between system ram and vram ? Like are you stupid or something ? The system ram have nothing to do with the gpu's other that carrying the information to their VRAM the nfactor is increasing the memory per thread for the gpu.

hi guys,

sorry when i posted false information, i wouldn't fooling anybody.

But my personal erxperience shows me, that i couldn' t mine with my 4 x 280x, 8gb ram, win7 64  and the given config settings. just got sicks and deads.
So i reduced the -R / buffer-size parameters and than it was working, with the half of the destinated hashrate. so this was unlucky.
Than i remembered that, already in the past, there were discussions about system memory. So i took of two gpus and tried again with the best settings and it was working nicely.
therefore i asked a friend to lend me some system memory, that i have 12gb now. i tried again with my 4 gpus, and now no sicks and deads anymore.

So just my personal erxperience. i'm not the pro here, definitly.
i would just help springdev because his problem sounds simular to mine.

when it's possible to mine with lesser system memory, than please someone post these settings.
i'm interested too, because i can give back the memory to my friend Wink

You can mine without a problem with 8 gigs just lower your memory clock and either double your rI and buffer size or use -g 2 as a parameter it will work trust me.
P.P By memory clock i mean the gpu mem clock.

Any arguments ? Because what you said didn't make any sense.
http://imgur.com/pfyOqL3 This is the ram usage on one of my rigs 6x 4 gigs cards 8 gigs ram custom linux distro + the whole os is cached in the ram. You can see how high the ram usage is right ? Buffer size per gpu is 3770 mb no hw errors no sick/dead gpu's soo prove me wrong if you can! The whole point of the n factor is that the ram needed per thread is rising with in the next n factor but in gpu's the system ram is not used only the dedicated gpu ram the vram is used.
