My transfer ~4days ago didn't go through. I somehow thought that was related to the size of the transfer (>5000). The transfer was TO bittrex though, not FROM.

A few posts back bittrex reported a problem with sync, once of the reasons I just produced a fast start pack for Linux, hopefully that gets them back up and running asap

No worries, the new explorer is currently syncing, it caused the battlestar one to go out of sync as they were using shared code, we've now separated them so batl should sync soon, bits will take a bit longer as its a large amount of transactions to catch up on
