I doubt the amount because guys like TheKoziTwo were involved earlier than Risto. He created the first Monero exchange and was in a much better position to acquire a such a large amount, but IIRC he indicated he had less than half of that. Buying 700k coins during that time on the open market doesn't seem possible without a massive price run (which never really happened. USD high post Mintpal pump was like $3). And I doubt he was making any significant OTC purchases either. The community wasn't that big at the time.
EDIT: back to speculation. If XMR breaks $110 this week we will be on target to $425 by December.
Game on. Current price on Coinmarketcap.com is $112.56!

XMR was up to #8 on coinmarketcap list for awhile today. I really hope it passes DASH at some point, but Top 10 is still excellent.

In another forum I read that the Ledger developers are close to developing Monero integration. Although they succeeded with the initial testings and so on, it's an ongoing process that may take a few more months (since Monero requires developing code from scratch for them). That's at least what I understood. I'm personally really looking forward for an integration with the Ledger Nano S.

Did it fall below 0.02? YES. Did it broke 0.016? It did. Did it touched 0.01 ? IT DID. Was it at the edge of knife at 85 USD? IT WAS. Will it reach 0.02 ? Probably will. Will it fall down then ? Probably WILL.
What is this bullshit. I can put here 100 random numbers and most likely each of them will represent future Monero price. When you post your predicted price 100 times ofcourse you will get right many times, but also failed many times. You predicted 0.016, but price was sub 0.012. You failed dearly. While you were here you were given in this thread best advice to go long on Bitcoin. That proved as way profitable option that any that you suggested. but ofcourse you totally ignored it. Yes Crypto is quite predictable, many people know that here in this thread and on this forum. There is zero point saying that and repeating that. We dont give medals here or anything like that. Point is some are not so greedy and way to lazy to do all the clicks while already have to much to live with. You post that you believe Crypto is crap, but in next post you post how to trade. So sort of all your bla bla is in general wasted. You preach of something you believe no one should be doing, but this thread and this forum is all about. All you do here is try put people down by calling them names. I do not understand why forum and thread moderators let that happen. Btw, Mr Walonek, Monero has done better than most other coins since 2016. It went from less then a dollar to more than 100 in that time frame. That is more than 100x. Which other top ten alt has done this?
Monero was best preforming coin in 2016 ahead of NEM. I am sure this year will be in top 1/3. To be best among 50-100 is hard, specially year after year. That was written in this thread several times. But he reads what he wants and ignore what he wants.

I like Monero but really, it can hardly keep up with the rest of the coins. Have a look at Zcash, there is a reason it's worth half a billion and money only a fifth of that. They (Zcash) have consistently offered solutions to the market that were not available before and they are by far the most innovative in that privacy sector. What is important to consider as well is the team that takes over these kind of upgrades. Zcash has a very experienced team which solution is being implemented by major financial institutions and now by Ethereum itself! That's a big thing. What about Monero's integration? Are they partnering with anyone? I think that would give some trust back to the coin and people might get again more interested in investing in.

Anyone is free to use Monero. Or even develop it. They can even hard fork it, but as long as they keep the fork opensource. Electroneum might have troubles here. My opinion is that ZCash as a private company cant compete with Monero culture.

I have a hard time trusting corporations in general, let alone running sensitive networks where the goal is privacy. You can look at how many shielded transactions are on Zcash's network to see how the community feels about Zcash's chances at delivering privacy. The corporate model doesn't work for things like TOR, I2p or even operating systems (at least for those who know what the fuck they're doing). You're probably right for the majority of people, but the majority of people don't have to secure millions (or even billions), the people who have those sorts of demands will do their homework, or at least know who to hire if they can't check themselves.

I have no clue how you can pack so much idiotic information in one statement! I'm not even going to bother trying to respond to this pathetic shill attempt. LITERALLY every statement you made is a perfect argument to use Monero over Zcrap. The funny part is your ignorance on the subject is so evident that it seems you really believe these conclusions! LOL You need to educate yourself before coming in here and spouting ridiculous statements like that.

All the alts were recovering nicely today, it's not a Monero Exclusive day. And while $130 looks pretty good, that's only 0.0167 BTC. I hope you won't tell I'm picky, but I wait to see Monero touch again 0.0355 BTC and even grow bigger.

Interesting comment from Nic Carter on Twitter today:
"One argument for (some) alts: As hedge funds come online they will have to buy non-Bitcoin cryptoassets (otherwise what value prop?) + lack of promising ICOs right now, means rotation into "premium alts". In other words, if all hedge funds do is buy Bitcoin they're not adding anything to what people can do anyway. Hence a need to also divest into those alt currencies the general public might not ordinarily consider. I'd say he's right - the coming institutional wave will benefit all of us.
