@shin234 you didnt really lose anything if your miners were pointed there all the time. If those lost shares had counted, payout per share would've been correspondingly lower on block 1464.

And they werent lost because Eleuthria thought it a good idea but because the DDoS stopped the necessary communication between the servers. Eleuthria changed it so now any new shares can't be lost for that reason alone.

that really sucks i had my rigs pointed to your pool the whole time and they were up every time the servers were up i guess ill switch to deepbit next time there are any issues

Why not just use a current version of poclbm, which automatically switches instantly when any issues appear?

Now that the new server is up (good job by the way), should we continue to point to btcguild.com or should we point to a specific server?

Almost 5 hours and a half on this block @ 1500 Gh/s? Is there some problem with the reporting or just horrible luck? Bad luck it is.

Btw, I dont know if you change something or its the lower traffic, but the stales have gone down to incredible levels. Great work in everything.

hi,

just got back to your pool and it just found a block.
BUT in the block statistics i don't see any of my shares? and my earned value shows zero..

whats this?

as i was very late in this round i dont have much shares (maybe around ten - dont really remember).

just want to know if its safe and i can point my other workers there too.

i am using de.btcguild.com. i did see "estimated reward" around 0.0045.... (of course, before last round ends (last round refers to block 135283)

Not any issue, just connection problems. Last night poclbm said I have wrong username or password (which was untrue) and it stuck for like 5h be4 I noticed and restarted it (then it started to work on those "wrong passwords".

I had my miner setup to auto-failover to Deepbit but still had BTCGuild as primary. I mined for BTCGuild all night and woke up this morning to:

Confirmed Rewards    0.00000000

So, I'm switching back to Deepbit primary because I don't think you have everything setup properly yet.

phungus do you donate at least 2.5%? if not your rewards can't be confirmed yet because 120 blocks have not passed since the first new block after the DDoS was found.

i have the same problem.
and i switched my reward from 2.5 to 0% (because of ddos, will switch it back).

but: shares in block stats has NOTHING todo with donations.

and they show me "none" - which means i did not get any shares... but i know i have submitted them - and they were shown as estimated reward (before round end)

Hmm, I have it set to 1%.

Still just doesn't look right but I guess there are 0.06312936 unconfirmed so maybe it was okay.

Eh, I'll just stick with the failover for another day or so and see how it shakes out. :-)

Eleuthria explained it on IRC: about 1.7 million shares vaporized during the DDoS since they couldn't be communicated from the server that held them in RAM to the one that was supposed to back them up to disk. If your miners were pointed to the pool whenever it was available and your mining speed was constant, you lost nothing, because your payout per share for the round after the DDoS is larger than it would've been with more shares in the round. If you just mined during the temporary intermissions in the DDoS but didnt when the pool came back for good, you're SOL however.

Now, according to Eleuthria, every server backs up its shares to its own disk so that such a thing can't happen again.

Please note I'm only reporting what I think Eleuthria meant. I'm not his spokesperson in any even remotely conceivable way and I might have gotten it all wrong, so don't blame Eleuthria if what I say here turns out to be baloney. Blame me instead in this case.

i submitted my shares just a few hours ago, after all of the "all server is up" messages...
during ddos i switched to mineco.in.

i don't blame you tearex. i just want everybody to know whats going on. i am sure eletheria will clear this (as soon as he sees this) and i am also pretty sure, that all missed shares will be counted.

he has build up my trust...

Error on Round #1469 last night when EU (DE) came up.  My error check code was not enabled for EU (DE) at first in case we finished a round while it was coming online (but before it had any shares).

I have the records for all shares submitted by EU (DE).  Later today (while I'm at work if I have a chance), I will run a new calculation on the round, and I will increase the rewards for anybody who's shares were not counted.  The recalculation will only -increase- rewards for those who were not counted.  Nobody's rewards will decrease as a result of the higher overall shares for the round.

Block 1469 has now been re-allocated.  If your reward should have been lower, it has not changed.  If it should have been higher (or wasn't even included), it has been increased/added.

I'm 95% sure there is a problem with confirmed rewards.  I'm donating 2.5 as always, and I see a round end and in the block stats I can see what I earned, but the rewards on the acct page haven't gone up at all.

i switched all workers back to btcguild. all my de.btcguild.com rewards all counted.

nice work!

my donation gets back to 2.5 on sunday.

(still hoping for some pool hopping prevention and port 80 mining)

IMHO (Warning: My PERSONAL opinion):
it's not your job to prevent botnets from accessing you. it's the pc owners fault (maybe isp too).
but: that does not count to pool hoppers as they are "stealing" coins from other miners.

Btw, not mining at your pool right now (servicing rigs), but my estimated rewards are positive (0.05~ right now). This doesnt affect confirmed rewards (Im not geting rewards for work I didnt make). Jut wanted to notice this issue.

What issue?  The round has been going on for 55 minutes, and you submitted shares in the current round (some even in the last 10 minutes roughly).
