Lonely feeling Deep inside Find some bitcoins That I can hide Silent server eluded me Sudden darkness That I can't see No coins today for my coffee No coins today for my tea No coins were send to my wallet How can that be Not quite Shakespeare, but i could make some guitar melody to it, now we need the soloist to sing it loud))) Or better not, it's too sad. Maybe you send another poem that starts with "Oh blocks, where are you?" while we eagerly wait for the long awaited block.
Oh blockies, where are you, I cant even sleep when i see confirmations, I'm dancing half-stripped, When blocks come together At 2 percent Diff, I'm happy, it's awesome And what a relief! I was at Slush previously until, I stumbled into kano ckpool late last year.
Then I suddenly saw the light.... I was attracted to the nice charts, fancy webpages but what I really wanted was the pure simplicity no nonsense pool with the highest payment system - I found that in this pool. Yeah, agree with every single word... I was hopping among different pools, giving each of them a week to see if i stay. So i stayed here. After learning about 5ND and experiencing it in action, I never turned back.
The 5ND method is one of the best systems for steady mining i guess, as far as im not in a way an expert, but i proved for myself that it worked better for my s7's that were working simultaneously at 4 different pools for a week or so. Plus the kano forum thread is never a dull moment - met many friends here and got useful advice and business contacts too. ..... I do want to add one thing though.... that pool members exercise more courtesy, respect, take note of time-zones and.... simply being nice.... I have seen the dark-side of other threads where everything there has gone haywire, very rude and not professional at all.
Again you're right. As you can see, i'm a newbie on the forum, but i have been reading some threads for years here without being registered and saw occasional rudeness, scams etc., but here the majority seems to be more... let's say more human. Out of the 1179 users in the pool, a significant number I believe spread across 5 nodes outside of USA, are non-US and perhaps even non-English speaking countries, so at times when posting in this thread, please do take note of country, culture etc. ie. not everyone know who is Zinedine Zidane? or "Is Singapore part of China?" I can speak Russian and English, and not so well German and Polish. And i can tell that what i have read in russian-speaking bitcoin mining communities (keep in mind that they include up to 15 countries where ppl understand Russian) made me turn to this pool as well. So yes, the pool is also talked about in non-English speaking countries. BLOCK!!!! Thanks Jose!
And 323% ... Time to push the luck button again)) Finally cloudy here in the arctic circle. The ever-present sun has yielded, and my machine is finally running somewhat silently.
Lucky you... It's getting really hot here where i live. Had to downclock the ants to avoid overheat (( What I've noticed on this thread lately (reading through the last few days that I essentially missed) is that the pool's popularity, and perhaps a spot price around the Kuiper Belt, seems to have attracted new miners (a good thing) who can perhaps benefit from some Zen-based support (only half-kidding). We've all been there at some time or another.
Reading through last 2-3 pages i also noticed there were many newbies not just spamming around but obviously getting aboard (including me, he-he).

Block Party ? What about A Bitcoin Block Reward Halving Countdown Party, like New Years eve The Bitcoin block mining reward halves every 210,000 blocks, the coin reward will decrease from 25 to 12.5 coins. http://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/

Any way to get larger payouts instead of so many small ones. I'm using coinbase and worried so many transactions will unnecessarily trigger financial reporting stuff. I tried blockchain.info but they charge close to 10% fee? I will try poloniex next but it would be nice to have it solved here. Thanks Dave... what 10% fees are you talking about?

The fee's to send the coins from a blockchain wallet.

Been busy with local stuff...still missing a dogsled, but no worries... I agree, Citronick. I was also previously with Slush for some time, although I also delved into a couple of others just out of curiosity. What I've noticed on this thread lately (reading through the last few days that I essentially missed) is that the pool's popularity, and perhaps a spot price around the Kuiper Belt, seems to have attracted new miners (a good thing) who can perhaps benefit from some Zen-based support (only half-kidding). We've all been there at some time or another. OT can be fun occasionally, but we have to know when to hold 'em as well. Re: dogsled: I got 3 more rigs (Avalons) going there soon. Luv how my rigs in Labrador perform. They like the cooler air there "way more" than the heat here. Can't beat their prices either. Good guys to deal with.

I'll be doing a ckdb restart in about 1 hour - around 4:25am UTC No miners will be affected. The web site will show lotsa '?' for about 10 minutes.
Timing will be when the next shift summary runs, which should be around 4:25am UTC
This is a DB update that I mentioned quite a while back. No changes on the web site. It's to reduce a sizeable amount of wasted disk DB space.
If we find any blocks in the next hour I'll repost and reschedule it dependent upon when that happens.
Edit: updated with a more accurate time.

I've setup another DE node. Getting too annoyed with Linode, so this is another Vultr node like FR and JP are.
I'll make it the DE node after I've let it run for about 12-18 hours just to see all is OK.
No one will need to do anything, but when I switch the DNS over it will just be that de.kano.is will point to the new node instead of the current one. If any of your miners connect/reconnect after that at any time, you'll end up on the new node. About 24 hours after that I'll stop the current DE node and that will make anyone left switch to the new one, so will simply be a reconnect.
I'll post again when I switch the DNS and again when I've stopped the current DE node.
