hmmm, been bz all day long glad to see blocks coming thru but looks kinda weird though. will look into it a little more

apologies, been working all day long on my mini DC @ home ... most of the heavy work done, lotsa cleaning up to do, n minor touch ups including some sound proofing + cooling then it should be ready.

I did have one payout that went into coinbase, showed up on their received list but was not added to the balance.
Emailed support no response.
Finally got to coinbase chat someone and they "FIXED" it. Not something I want to hear from the BANK.

For those about to block we salute you! AC->BTC

I sold 1000 usd in btc  and coinbase sent me 1000 usd twice.

I have had this happen twice.   So I just left funds in my account and they sent me an email a day later.

They said they would do a reversal.  I wanted to be sure funds were in the bank account   so I put 1200 extra from another account.

About 6 banking days after the error was found they did the reversal.  So my funds were tied up for about 11 real days.

While running away with the extra 1k seems like a good idea.  I have been in accounting for 40 years so I knew the error would be found.

All in all a P.I.T.A.  but it is now fixed.  If I had just 1 bank account it would have been a bigger hassle.

I inquired with these folks when they were still Bit-X about getting their debit cards for US clients, took the first step on verification, haven't heard a word since, and a couple of e-mails have gone silent. Another reason why I don't keep BTC in anyone's wallet but mine, unless it's actually involved in a transfer. It would be nice to be able to use the debit cards, but so far I'm not impressed with what I'm hearing. Oh, well...

I'll look into that...there are limited options for US clients via EU exchanges. I got registered with CEX last year and it's been OK so far.

My boxes are somewhere between the Montreal post office and Labrador. Canada customs held them for a week, then released them, but after that the postal tracking there is a bit lacking imho. One shows "Delivered" day before yesterday; the other two are in a status I don't quite get ("Collect for pickup"), but I think it means they tried to deliver it and brought it back to the post office...I dunno, really. I'm e-mailing this morning (0600 here) to get an update. It hurts my patience (which I'm not noted for in certain circumstances) to sit on spot price where it's at, blocks flowing, and 3/4 of my hash power is idle. It'll work out, though.

Looks like coinbase is now asking where your BTC is going every time you send it out, to another exchange or not.
Have own private wallet so NO for me.

Don't mine to a coinbase address, after 200 or so transactions and/or $20,000 they start to ask questions, of where the money is going, where it is coming from etc. Create an address yourself, mine to it to consolidate the transactions and then send it to coinbase in less but larger transactions.

Mine to an address you control not someone else.

Use an independent wallet such as GreenBits for Great security or a nice to use wallet such as Airbitz.

Yup. Most definitively. Soytenly. Obviously, I agree...but then I'm a bit swayed on this one, as I lost a bunch at Mt. Gox. Never again.  Cool

Uh-huh...and it was especially painful to one who spent several years as the Chief of Field Examinations for a national commercial lender...shoulda hadda oughta knowed better...but didn't do my due diligence. Like I said...never again. That's another reason I'm here rather than somewhere else.

I got the same thing from Coinbase.

I put "F--k off" in each box.

Since each box can have either a mark or no mark, your submission was considered as a "box mark is present"  Grin

...and all of this has to do with their trying to not be correctly accused of enabling terrorists or illegally laundering funds...but that's just the old bank cop talking...

It's still a PITA, and personally I think that their posterior is covered by their initial vetting. Anything further can be seen as being a bit pushy...  Kiss
