So apparently even South Korea wants to ban Crypto Currency Exchanges? [Suspicious link removed]j.com/amp/articles/bitcoin-plunges-as-south-korea-crafts-cryptocurrency-crackdown-1515664956 https://www.c[Suspicious link removed]m/2018/01/10/south-korea-official-reportedly-readying-bill-to-ban-all-cryptocurrency-trading.html And then they hurt my bitcoins in the process!!!! I'll share this: "Horus T Sun They clarified today that they don't plan on banning all trading. It's misinformation. They are however going to regulate and monitor the exchanges, which isn't a bad thing."

So I am out in the country in Wisconsin with 140 acres of land, 12 pairs of fiber coming to my house (I currently have dedicated 50/50mb business service through ATT at a grand per month for my home business), a single phase 320kva transformer (in-ground wiring) with a 200A panel in my house and another mostly empty 200A panel in an "outhouse" that just protects the panel. I was going to build a barn and needed to revise the budget when we built years ago. I have a small (20x40ft?) non insulated metal shed with concrete floor about 50 feet beyond that with a 60Amp panel that is mostly unused. Super easy to get the full 200 Amps into that building. My son grabbed about 10 full size server racks that he cannot give away (7.5 foot tall). I had the thought of building a small building around my outhouse that was specifically designed for miners, but by the time I am done it probably would be 30k+. So another option is to figure out how to retrofit the shed. Obviously 200 amps will not do a ton of S9's, so no matter what, it is a small scale operation. I also had the thought of putting up solar panels and we even have hills to put up a wind turbine - although we are only a couple miles from the interstate where planes follow, so probably some issues getting permits for a full size one. Again, a big investment when mining may disappear in a couple years? Anyway, if interested in discussing, feel free to PM me and I'll get you my contact info. Or you email me through the minergain site links.
As a resident of The Cheddar Curtain, your specs don't match reality here, or North. AT&T doesn't run "12 pairs of fiber coming to my house"... Also, "a single phase 320kva transformer (in-ground wiring)" makes no sense, in a Electric Utility context for a Single Family Home. THEN, there's "we even have hills to put up a wind turbine - although we are only a couple miles from the interstate where planes follow"... WHAT do hills have to do with wind turbines and last I checked, as a pilot, we navigate using charts and coordinates, NOT by following "the interstate"? Here's a thought. Put Solar Panels on your "140 acres of land", let your mining gear warm up the "non insulated shed" this Winter and MINE ON.

Hey Everyone,
I am new to mining and bit confused between Kano pool and other. I have 4 S9's and just wanted to compare the pools so I mined for 5 days at Kano with 2 s9's and 2 with other pool. So far at Kano pool we found 3 blocks since i have joined and Other pool i get daily payouts. After 5 days testing results are:
KanoPool: Total BTC paid: 0.0098165 Other Pool BTC paid: 0.020124
How is it Kano pool is paying bit lesser than those high fee pool? is it because i have only contributed 5 days ? or am i Missing soemthing here?
No Bad intentions here just trying to understand with everypool and etc
Thanks in Advance
Because here you've not received your full reward yet. You reward for each share is spread out over the 5Nd after you submit the share, to reduce variance. So while on those other pools you get nothing more if you stop mining, here your reward per block will ramp down after you stop mining. Currently the 5Nd ramp is roughly 15 days, so if you do a runner today you'll keep getting (smaller and smaller) rewards for probably another 15 days. Of course that number "15 days" is based on the size of the pool and changes all the time. See Help->Payouts for the above information and more. I do have a q super noob quick question. I know someone else already asked, but I didn't really see a solution or answer. I'm running 1 S9 at Kano and 1 at a different pool. I'm trying to figure out if I'm having any issues early instead of later. Each pool tracks your progress, or should I say DISPLAYS your progress differently. My question is I'm averaging around 7 to 8 hundred shares on each round with 1 S9. Anyone can confirm that is in the ball park. Just want to make sure you guys aren't pulling in line 12,000 or 12,000,000 shares while I have a problem and keep waiting to figure it out. Thanks!

The hash rate shown on the Shift page and the Shift Graph over the last day (or so) is what matters. Those hash rates are calculated from your difficulty accepted in the shift - i.e. related to your reward. You wont see an S9 with a 20THs hash rate. If you are seeing a constant 10THs or 5THs hash rate then there's something wrong with your S9 or it has less than 3 boards.

The hashrate is right where it should be, I was just concerned because of the whole "pay per share" aspect. I didn't want to mine for a month and then find that I was having an issue then. Thanks again for the info Kano...keep up the good work!

Hi. Kano is not paying you less. He's paying you more. Just that you're not comparing properly. Yes, in other pools you get daily payment. I agree as I experienced it too. It's because they get to find a block like 10 or more daily (like every 10mins or 45 mins or longer). Example: In Antpool, last 2017-12-22 I received 0.00102965 for that day's payout for 1 S7. Checking the earnings history there were 9 blocks found the previous day (12/21). That is PPLNS also. The block's earning is where to properly compare with Kano. So, in that 9 blocks I get.. block 500289 reward 0.00002348. WTF?? One block in Kano when S7 not fully ramped up I got for block 501835 is 0.00140589. When fully ramped up for block 503342 I got 0.00263890. See now? You compare it block by block. Yes, I got more blocks (9) in Antpool, but I am rewarded sooo low on a per block found. Either Antpool is robbing the miners or there are just too many miners to share the spoil. Just hope and pray we get to mine 9 or more blocks in a day in Kano then we'll get more than in other pools everyday.

Here's a thought. Put Solar Panels on your "140 acres of land", let your mining gear warm up the "non insulated shed" this Winter and MINE ON.
I may have the kva wording wrong on the transformer, but it is a 320 <something> (the utility was just out to replace my meters). The house was built by a commercial contractor and we have half a dozen panels in the house with generator/ups, etc. This single family home is also my digital signage business plus we had planned for a big barn so when we built, we had them put up what was needed for two 200A panels. As for fiber, I too was totally shocked when ATT dug in the 12 pairs for free (in about a month no less) with only a 3 year contract! And the Ciena and router gear also is overkill for a 50Mb circuit. I figured it would be a single fiber. I did tell them that since there was 140 acres here, there was a "slim" chance of a housing development but not likely. Yes, wind turbine likely is not going to happen, but I suspect there are zoning issues (with potential faa guidelines) that I have not checked into. I just know you need wind and my thought is having a turbine on top of a hill may allow for more versus the valley that our house is in which is 250 feet lower. Sorry for mentioning that since I am clueless on it. As for my miners, they are making my normally heated garage nice and toasty this winter with air intake from the frigid outdoors - so I'm good.

Hi guys,
I have got 5 x S9 + PSU for delivery 21Feb on from Bitmain. Unfortunately I am at the limit of my breakers now after a 21Jan batch and will either need to relocate all miners or let go of the 5 for 21Feb delivery.
The cost will be in BCH what I paid + any additional charges if cant change shipping at Bitmain direct (for Kanopool miners). I will advertise elsewhere in the next 2 days.
Anyone interested can PM me for further details.
Mine on!

I had temp issues recently also..- -35 Celsius outside and my 14x S9's struggled to keep the workshop above 40 Farenheight...some temps of units near floor level were down to low 40's also...fans down to <2500 RPM on many units. Awesome miner on average reports temps much higher than miner itself...
I mine in -30C. I restrict my fan intake by about 30% to allow the boards to get warm, and I boot them while warming them with a hair-dryer. I use aluminum duct tape, but you could use anything that won't accidentally get sucked in. Any thoughts on dealing with the 30C summer highs?

After more inspection of my 3 S9's: If you are facing the exhaust fan, with the intake fan furthest from you, one has the intake wired on the right, and the other two have the intake wired on the left. I'm guessing this is why one of my units runs with the intake fan higher than the exhaust.

Telco's put in 24 fibre becuase it is the smallest they have as a cable. They treated it as commercial becuase it was not on a residential street with multiple houses. The commerical ALWAYS gets 24 fibre, and they use 1. The cost you wrote before 1000? I think you getting robbed. I can get 150/150 symetrical for 100-125 cnd. As for the SIZE of your transfromer... it may be a 320 KVA Is it a nice big green box about 4x4 feet? or is it a small round one and is probably 32.0 KVA? Becuase the 25 KVA one I have behind my house also powers about 12 homes. Granted you said the guy asked for more power at that location, so it may be that big. As for the wind turbine agruing going on that if planes follow the interstate... umm, well, not for IFR ( instrument flight rules) but for VFR ( Visual Flight rules) they may indeed use that as the VFR corridor. They may in fact have zoning regulations if they are near an airport for max height. I have one on my land titles, and the other DUMB one, Is there has to be a certain amount of insulation in the attic - to quiet down the sound of the planes. So YES a tall turbine with blades that reach 500 feet above the ground and more than the surrounding ground level around the turbine may in fact be an issue.... it all comes down to if the guy giving the permit does his job and goes OH flight path, and then does what he needs to do. SO, yes, please do not argue points that you do not understand fully. The OP just merley said that he had an oppurtunity and space to put in more miners. Judging by the number of panels and service that may be there, I would think that it is mostly accurate, but doesnt warrnet an attack on him for what he posted, just move to the next post.. arguing about if aircraft use roads as routes.... yes... they do, you will see this in mountain passes for VFR routes. LEARN THEN COMPLAIN.

Indeed, I can confirm that Minergain is probably being accurate... down here in Ohio, several years ago, Spectrum (then Time Warner) installed fiber to my home datacenter for a hell of a deal, partly because I was just a short walk off of the closest node with existing dark fiber. They used a 12-fiber bundle which I believe is single-mode with WDM because the down/up channels are on the same optical fiber. Cost has dropped since then but is about $1200/mo for 100Mb symmetrical. Of course, the cost is partly due to the carrier-grade level of service, my SLA covers free router, four-nines uptime (99.99%) and a 4-hour tech response. Anyway... getting way OT... nice to see that Kano is in 2nd place on the network for highest transaction fees in the block reward, which are also paid out. New miners who are unsure about sticking around for the long haul with Kano should take note! Mine On. https://i.imgur.com/Gy0MFs7.png
