Sorry, I am gonna rephrase. I came here to kano.is because the little guy could make a difference. This pool was first started as a big-timers pool, but had no real mining support and the little guy mattered. Then, some of the big-guns jumped onboard. Next, we wake up, and even 1Th doesn't matter. With the new equipment out now, I guess we need another little guy pool. I am getting fed up!! Just my opinion...doesn't matter to anyone but me...CRAP!! CapnBDL edit: sad days ahead for 'old' BTC miners. ck & kano...you guys rock! I have been on Kano.is for a while, it is growing because it is a great pool with honest people behind it. If you are looking for a "little guy" pool there are a bunch out there but Kano is a little guy pool for me. I say that because they stand up against the big pools and stand up to the big industry. Just my 2 cents. If you are looking for a smaller pool I would recommend bitminter.

That and the fact that kano's software is faster, better, stronger, and relayed the block before any other pool could blink! Hell yea!

Yes, I refer to that as the "Weighted Dice".

Oh dude!! I am not sure if you have me pegged or totally wrong, but either way, I think you caught the jest of what I am saying. And..thanks for that. I think the 'home-miner' is gonna be dead very shortly, or sooner, at this rate (not joking) and it is time to search elsewhere. Yup...I know the pool must grow to keep up with what is going on in the BTC world. That doesn't help the pain the little guy feels. I would like you to think about this...where would BTC be today without us? What chain, what block? just sayin' Thanks to all the old-timers out there!!! @ 'blockchainmines', let me know if you get off your butt <jk> and host a small miner site. I would love to send you both of my S3+'s and one S4. Just one request, make sure you point them here. This really is the only place to be. Best payout, best staff, best community, best everything!! PM me, I'll get you started if the price is right. Thanks, CapnBDL ALL mining is going to be dead sooner or later unless the companies making the mining machines stop selling out to corporate mining companies and start making really efficient small miners. the s5 is at break even point right now at 10c a KWH.. the s3 is unprofitable, and has been for awhile. the s7 will survive to the halving, but not after.. even the s7 right now, at today's difficulty will be just breaking even after the halving, we still have a few more months of difficulty increases.. this batch is the last batch that has a chance at roi, specially if you are buying it with returns from other miners profits.. the next batch will be useless unless its like 400$ i would not count on resale on the s7 to break even on roi since very few will want them after the halving. they will be cheap.. i really hope sidehack gets his hands on some by then and makes a s7 pod.

@kilo17, Nope, I think you may have not read enough or else just missed my regrets altogether. I would/will never mine anywhere else but here. kano.is truly is the only place to mine, whether big or small. I am NOT looking to go anywhere else. I am looking at some possible off-site hosting. Sorry if you misunderstood. By all means, STAY here!! You won't be sorry. CapnBDL

15 mins ago we got another block
okay I see it on blocktrail but not blockchaininfo The block explorers seem to really struggle around the time the orphans hit. Sometimes they may even need manual intervention to keep working it seems... blockchain is showing Eligius as having won that block yet if you click on their block it then says orphan. Regardless, it's our block as all nodes have synced up to ours and confirmed it numerous times since. Our extensive propagation network (and numerous ckpool improvements to distant nodes) may well have paid off on saving that one.

Kinda funny that blockchain.info shows Eligius on main page, but click more and shows orphan. Eligius tried to place 577 transactions into it but we won and placed 1156 transactions in the block. Double the transactions inserted and still won the race! Heck, they don't even show the Orphan in their stats and block page, like it never happen.... How do we show their 10PH of miners the truth and get 5PH to move here?

Of course, that's the worker name that the work was sent to, which can represent multiple miners, that up to how you configure their 'worker name', but no idea what you call the miners.

That's a great point, it's too bad that in close orphan races the number of transactions doesn't factor in. It would be a shame in any case, regardless of who was racing who, to have a block with less transactions beat out a block with more.

Agree, some make the argument that it takes to long to fill the block and move on, here we prove it does not take long and still win a race!
