am i misguided to think that hardware errors eat into the profits  or am i wrong about this

the hw number is less important then the % number.

so  if you clock and get under 0.0050 %  you are doing well

if you clock and get 0.0350  % you are not as well

if you clock higher and get 0.2000  % you are worse off.

because  the gear does lots of hash the hw number count means less .

my 2 had 450 errors in 17 hours  at 0.0003%  and 9360 gh

but in 30 days   that would be over 13500 errors  but still 0.0003%

0.0003% is really good

but even 0.0050% is really good

What a good start to a good day, felling nice this morning so went to stats page and saw "gans200" at the bottom with 1.04Ghs, don't know if he is active on the forum but sending him 25TH for the rest of today. Pay it forward...Enjoy!

Hitting a block is pure statistics base on the amount of hash rate you are throwing at the kano pool...the more you are throwing, the higher your chances are  Cheesy

The problem with dropping your speeds to try and get rid of all of the errors, you are also in effect dropping your hash rate at the same time.  Lowering your hash rate reduces your chance of hitting a block...there is a happy medium in there somewhere!  Cool

Phil is absolutely right...look at the percentage and not the total.  A 0.0050% error rate is a sweet spot to be in.

Now, back on topic with Block Wednesday!

my issue is that hardware errors consume power produce heat and produce not shares and i have ants and sps and A6 and those produce 0 hardware errors with that said to a nano farmer like me it's irrelevant

How often does someone get 4 blocks in 32hours. And how often does someone go about 24hrs at 3PH/s - at least here at Kano.is

Sorry for questions literally my second week of mining.

gettting 4 blocks in 32 hours with hash rate is almost a miracle. sure glad he's mining with us.

some pools with his hash rate take days to get a block.

That 3ph of avalons is a BIG farm. Just need a BIG pile of money.
That many will generate a lot of heat and use a lot of power.
Not a small task.
Yes , a welcome addition to the kano clan.

For those about to block we salute you! AC->BTC

would love to know who it is and see pics of the farm. it must be massive.

I can only imagine the amount of heat being produced and the amount of power being consumed. you could probably hear the electric buzz in the area from that much draw.

Woke up to over 36Ph, and six blocks. Nice. The big hash jump lowered our rewards by almost 30%...but there are six blocks "in the pipe," and so the total comes out about the same for this round. Can't get around the math. We've got an S7 coming in that will double our output (we're a small farm...sort of a digital acreage), and plans for two more, but that's all the power we have available at this site. Good to see new folks coming on. Best to all.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

I'm going to have to look into some hosting solutions, these block parties are pretty cool.

You think Avalon is better hardware or better software or both?
Since Avalon uses the latest cgminer and listens to Kano and ck and works with them I'm sure they would say the software is better.  The hardware is slightly less efficient power wise than the S7, but to me it is worth supporting Avalon because of how they support cgminer.

good catch but look at upper right and see date is last year OCT 29 ,2015
Phil, how is the best share for that 9.2TH after 17 hours running only 995?  Or is that the infamous Bitmain bestshare reporting bug?

I think we're looking at Avalon for the next box as well. We were already committed to the S7, but no worries.

guys, how do you calculate your HW %? been trying to figure it out, but i'm clueless

It's the HW errors divided by the Diff1# or DiffA#...my 0.0017% is currently 22876 / 1,376,175,335 * 100 = 0.00166229% or 0.0017%

EDIT:  And it's right there on your cgminer...why would you need to calculate it?

Can we get a couple payouts soon?  I really don't want to take my last $20 to the bank to hold speed, but I will if I have to.  #tryingtocomeup
