I'm still waiting for the second A6, but this first one is producing extremely close to the S7s, with less noise, and it cost less. Uses 1.1KW v. 1.4.
Also awaiting...the R4 does not excite me. We'll see.
Sorry for OT, but does the Avalon require a PC for a controller? I know you were having issues getting one setup a few days ago. Hopefully an A7 can be standalone as I don't want to shell out any more cash for another PC or Raspberry (never owned a Pi). Back on topic. This is a long network block. It would be nice for us to snag it!!!!  It took 1 hour 11 minutes for block 427012  But we didn't get it  Hopefully a block for us soon. These long and very red blocks make me sad. get the chicken sacrifices out of the freezer.... wait for 10-20 minutes from now to get the last Kano block mature to 101 confirms... it was quite awhile ago we had a 2-block day... hope we get one of those 11-block buster day soon! Sorry friend, we wont until we get 47-50PH pool. |

Talking abt newer miners, I'm only about 3 months here but I've already seen some blood red demons and also 11 block days. No matter what I will stay here and accept variance that smtms makes me sad, it's anyway more profitable than (a name here) that takes away all txn fees. |

I don't need anymore hardware than I already have! RPi's are a good investment. I have 3 of them, all of which are involved in mining tasks right now. I rarely have one idle. I have no problem with getting a 4th one if needed for an A7. They're inexpensive anyway. |

I have no problem with getting a 4th one if needed for an A7. They're inexpensive anyway. I was a bit leery of using an outside controller, but it's a breeze, really. I'd never seen a Raspberry Pi before, and it was a hoot. A real computer the size of an Altoids tin. Daisy chain your units. I think an advantage is that it's cheap, and if you keep a backup SD card (what it runs on) you can swap your controller in maybe two minutes if needed. I'm picking up at least one more for a spare. I'm sort of ambivalent on how they do the mythical A7. So long as it works as we'd like it to. The other A6 "missed the bus" yesterday at our airport, and I may not see it until Monday unless the local contract courier for DHL works on Saturday. |

FWIW, it costs me about USD$50 per mo per S7, which includes renting a PSU. They've been responsive and intelligent in their comms. |

Not that I want to be a party killer, but we need additional 5-10PH to get to those 8-10 block days. Bitclub is running the same pool software at 60PH and they are killing it at the moment with all their new S9`s  |

Uh...well, in all fairness...you need a psu to run any box. The only additional piece of gear here is the Raspberry Pi (OK...and the USB link). That one RPi can control up to 40 daisy-chained A6s, via one Ethernet drop, through that single USB link. |
