Back on topic. This is a long network block. It would be nice for us to snag it!!!!  Grin

At last a day-long block! Talking abt newer miners, I'm only about 3 months here but I've already seen some blood red demons and also 11 block days. No matter what I will stay here and accept variance that smtms makes me sad, it's anyway more profitable than (a name here) that takes away all txn fees.

Thanks for the info. Was hoping that was not the case. Maybe the 7 will be stand-alone. I don't need anymore hardware than I already have! Wink

RPi's are a good investment. I have 3 of them, all of which are involved in mining tasks right now. I rarely have one idle.

I have no problem with getting a 4th one if needed for an A7. They're inexpensive anyway.

I was a bit leery of using an outside controller, but it's a breeze, really. I'd never seen a Raspberry Pi before, and it was a hoot. A real computer the size of an Altoids tin. Daisy chain your units. I think an advantage is that it's cheap, and if you keep a backup SD card (what it runs on) you can swap your controller in maybe two minutes if needed. I'm picking up at least one more for a spare. I'm sort of ambivalent on how they do the mythical A7. So long as it works as we'd like it to. The other A6 "missed the bus" yesterday at our airport, and I may not see it until Monday unless the local contract courier for DHL works on Saturday.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

There are a number of us here who use several of the hosting firms, including Toomim Bros. as well as CryptoBoreas. I have 3 S7s at CryptoBoreas and am quite pleased. I considered all, but they were the least expensive but still have their "stuff" together. Their billing is in CAD, so you have to keep that in mind when pricing. FWIW, it costs me about USD$50 per mo per S7, which includes renting a PSU. They've been responsive and intelligent in their comms.

Juvia's minions are also with Crytoboreas.

So far so good and several of Juvia's wishes have been granted  Grin

Highly recommended, just drop an email to Alan.

Just moved my antminers to Toomim Brothers.  Very impressed with Jonathon with both his technical capabilities and his quick responses.  My second S9 is getting delivered there on Monday. Smiley

Maybe Avalon A6 with a PI is good for home mining, but its a pain in the ass if you got a stack of them. Just look at the mess you need to run a single unit.

Not that I want to be a party killer, but we need additional 5-10PH to get to those 8-10 block days.
Bitclub is running the same pool software at 60PH and they are killing it at the moment with all their new S9`s

Uh...well, in all fairness...you need a psu to run any box. The only additional piece of gear here is the Raspberry Pi (OK...and the USB link). That one RPi can control up to 40 daisy-chained A6s, via one Ethernet drop, through that single USB link.
