Kano, just curious but looking over my timeline, my last two rewards have not been sent as of it from Dec 30 and the 31st. Any current issues going on?

No issues. We need to find the next block. Kick your miners into overdrive.

Where is this overdrive you speak of?

it's been over 26 hours since I switched my S9 to kano.is and still don't see any information on the rewards page. Sad

that's because we haven't cracked a block in 179 hours... patience pays off on kano... Smiley
Yes, if you are looking for a bunch of little payoffs and high fees, this pool is not for you, however if you are willing to be patient, like bigger chunks of Bitcoin and low fees so you actually get to keep more of what is mined with the best more transparent Pool Operator on the planet, then KANO Pool is for you!! Mine On with KANO-SAN!!

I started mining with the Kano pool at the beginning of December and it has been challenging to keep from switching.
Has the rate of finding blocks been unusually low over the last 6 weeks or so?
I tried looking at all the data on the pool site but I am having a hard time deciphering it and getting an answer (though I imagine the answer is there).

Anyway, I am just having a bit of "crisis of faith" after this latest dry spell of over 180 hours!
I really want to keep mining with Kano,  I like how the pool is setup and his participation on this post.  Hopefully we will find a block soon!

I can understand this feeling, but it is just pure mathematics and probability. If you like active monitoring and many small "victories" in short period of time, this is probably not a great pool for you. If you are looking to maximize your profit on long run, it is most likely one of the best out there.

Overdrive is initiated by running pure oxygen through your miners. The good stuff.

You can plug in the pool hashrate and the difficulty into any of these calculators and it'll show you the odds.
Thank you, THAT is very helpful information and makes things clearer for me too!

The data is there on the Blocks page. You can see the last year.

In December and November, we hit 100% of the expected blocks. In October we only hit 73%.

You can look at the top "Shares" and see that we're in a slight dry spell, as statistically we should've hit 2 blocks with the number of shares we've had.

Kano is a pool for long term profitability. When we hit a block, it's a bigger payout than other, bigger pools. However, the time between blocks is longer.

Does anyone know why it takes some S9's,  2 of my 5 take longer to reboot.  Not sure what is going on. All I did was update the miner config for 2 pools to be kano servers, and the third elsewhere for failover purposes.

3 of them booted up quick within 1 minute, while the two took like 4 or 5 minutes.

I rebooted many many hundreds of S9s. They do that randomly, sometimes even taking 20 minutes.

Luck is unaffected by coming and going.
Luck is simply the luck of each hash done on work sent from the pool.

At the moment it's one in Diff * 2^32 hashes is 'expected' to find a block ... or 1931136454487.716 * 4294967296 = ~8.29x10^21

The faster hashes are sent to the pool, the sooner we 'expect' to find a block.

Generic mining question. Whenever the network finds another block, do all our Kano pool miners get new work, or do we just keep chugging away on whatever we were working on?

Yep new work.
It's a work item that says you must immediately change to it and stop any previous work.
