So would you request to join a top5 pool to get frequent payouts ?

I never said that!

In my opinion, by mining on Kano you will get a higher reward overall (as discussed in this thread over the last (many) pages).
And, considering current hashrate on the pool, you WILL get payouts frequent enough and forget about other pools at all. Smiley

MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!

And what hashrate did you point to kano?

So, every 9average) 1.5 days there's a payout?

Also, the mentionend coin/th/day mentioned earlyer... its roughly 50% above nicehash!  Arrrgh.

im switching them over, based on all your community ppl findings. Thanks!

I cant ask for much, iam at 23th/s only, but will be adding more soon =)

You will get your full pay based your your shares but it will be spread out and not all at once.  You don't lose anything.

My take on a post from Kano a long while back:

The 5Nd "ramp" means it takes that long to reward your shares.  It's not a punishment and the ramp isn't missing rewards, it's delaying them to reduce variance.  Each share is rewarded in all the blocks found in the 5Nd after the share.  That's simply how it reduces variance.  Each share's reward is averaged out over the 5Nd after it.

How do the PPLNS payouts work?

The 5Nd "ramp" means the pool rewards 5 times the expected number of shares each time a block is found.  So each share will be paid approximately 1/5 of it's expected value in each block it gets a reward, but each share is also expected, on average, to be rewarded 5 times in blocks found after the share is submitted to the pool.

So, on the 1st block the pool hits when you start on Kano you get rewarded 1/5 of the value of the shares you submitted for that block.

On the 2nd block the pool hits you get 1/5 of the value of the shares you submitted for the 2nd block plus 1/5 of the value of the shares you submitted for the 1st block.

On the 3rd block the pool hits you get 1/5 of the value of the shares you submitted for the 3rd block plus 1/5 of the value of the shares you submitted for the 2nd block plus 1/5 of the value of the shares you submitted for the 1st block.  It goes on and on like that until all of the value of the shares you summitted are paid in full.

That's also how you would continue to get payouts for the 5Nd ramp down period after you leave this pool.

This is a simplistic view of the 5Nd payout model because the it is also affected by luck.  If pool luck was always 100% then each share is expected to be rewarded 5 times.

If pool luck is better than 100%, then the average share reward will be more than 5 times. (Love it when it hits 10-12 times!)
If pool luck is worse than 100%, then the average share reward will be less than 5 times.

The 5Nd really helps you out if your miners go down for a couple of hours or are down for a day.  You would continue to be rewarded if the pool hits a block while you were down.  I've seen pools where you would get nothing out of a block if you were down for just an hour or so when the block was hit. Grin

The pool hash rate for the last day is roughly 117.77PHs which means the 5Nd 'ramp' is roughly 7days 10hrs right now.

This ramp time gets shorter as our hash rate goes up or it gets longer if our hash rate goes down.

im not the right person to explain how it works
but the ramp up system in this pool was created to keep pool hoppers away
so, once you point your miners to this pool it will take about 8 days at the current pool hash rate for them to be fully rewarded at the their full 23th or whatever your hash rate is.
also if you are fully ramped up and you leave the pool you will get rewarded as you ramp down, so you get rewarded even tho you are not mining in the pool for 8 days (at current pool hash rate) until you get down to 0

that is the best i can do as i am really bad at explaining things

If you want an idea of what you'll get once you are fully ramped up look up a couple of miners that are using a bitcoin address and look at their payments.  Keep in mind that it changes consistently depending on total hash rate of the pool.  Payment go down as there's more hash but the upside is more blocks with more hash.

Questions, probably dumb but i can't seem to figure it out...

When looking at the shift graph all i am able to see is my total hashrate and nd, etc. for all workers combined.

Is there a way to see the hashrate and performance for each individual worker?

Also depends on how you setup your account.  If your miners are named as: username.worker1, username.worker2, etc..., then you would see each one on the graph.  You have to ask the graph page that you want to see your miners as ".worker1" and ".worker2" etc...  You automatically get "all" which shows the total of all your miners.

I think what you are looking for is to see your individual workers on the chart itself.  each one of the boxes after the one that has "all" in it can be used to put individual workers or groups of workers.  I don't know how your workers are named but I can use a couple of mine to give you exampls:

If you take a couple of my workers, clg3.29s9, clg3.30s9, clg3.31a821 you could fill in boxes with .29s9 and .30s9 and .31a821 and click Update, all three will appear on the chart along with the "all" line.  Just be sure to start with "." or "_" depending on which way you named your miners.

You can also use wildcards...if I did .3* in one of the boxes it would group both the 30s9 and 31a821 into one graph line.  I could also do .29*, .30*, and .31* to list them as separate lines on the graph as well. Cheesy

EDIT: When you put in mutiple miners of similar hash rate they will overlap each other but you can uncheck a couple of boxes without changing your configurations to look at one or another.  You can uncheck all boxes and selectively check one at a time to get a clearer picture.

EDIT2:  Thanks VRobb!  I kept getting sidetracked before I hit post so it took me longer Grin

It is so tempting to buy some more S9s now that they're normally priced. Got 2 more on the way for the pool. Hopefully Halong ships my T1 soon too.

Remember new miners: You have to keep growing the hash rate to stay competitive!

It's crazy, a price of a new S9 is almost half of what it was just 2 or 3 weeks ago.  I wonder how many people were buying a ton of S9's just to resell on Ebay at a higher price.  They are stuck with a bunch of product now that's not worth as much as it was a couple of weeks ago.

Be real careful when buying off of ebay.  There are a ton of scams out there - especially when they have multiple listings.  I almost pulled the trigger on 40 of them but the guy cooled off his communication when I asked for his contact information and proof of ownership / purchase from bitmain.  About 6 hours later I got an email from ebay saying that someone had hacked the seller's account.

Mine were also bought off of ebay, so there are reputable ones out there too.
