Looks like we lost CryptoBoreas about 45 min ago...I saw a maintenance outage for NFLHydro for today, but it was for earlier... Always sumthin'... ja. Last week our companies new Xfinity biz internet service went down from sun 11:45p until my partner showed up at 6:am Monday and had to cycle the power to the cable modems to bring it back up. That of course took my main farm @210TH offline... And once again the 'net at home is down, so far for the past 40 min. There goes 78-80THs again... Narf At home I use a failover from Fibre to wireless LTE since bandwidth usage isn't that high for the miners - did that after the first time my primary network disappeared for a few hours.

Actually, since I started mining in Feb. 2014 this is the 1st time the 'net at home has gone down for so long. Usually might rarely be out for a few min but that was it. Got monster on-line UPS's and NG fueled permanent backup generator to handle power outages but the 'net being out like this is a 1st for me.

^^, for a start, try the standard 1st step with miners -- reboot and see if it comes back.

Install Bitcoin Core on Linux, they say. It'll be fun, they say--actually nobody said it'd be fun per se, but I am learning a lot! Stay tuned... Looks like I'll be using Lubuntu on an old machine. More updates to come in the future. Update: Lubuntu installed and updated with Bitcoin Core! Just need another day for the blockchain to download, and "I'm ret ta go!" Amazing what you can accomplish during an evening without the wife and kids. Welcome to the land of the enlightened, my friend...I haven't used anything from MickeySoft in a couple of years.

Got monster on-line UPS's and NG fueled permanent backup generator to handle power outages but the 'net being out like this is a 1st for me. I've only had an unscheduled power outage once at my place over the years - not enough to warrant a backup generator at home OTOH I've not been mining for that long either...

Hi Everyone,
I am rather new here and have a couple of questions. It seems that the giveaway is quite old, am I correct? I would assume there are no giveaways at this time?
Also, I have been mining using Kano for a couple of weeks now. For some reason, my last payout took 4 days and it was just the minimum payout of just over 0.001. My payouts previously were almost every day of the same amount. What am I not understanding?
Thank you for any help.

There's quite a bit you probably won't understand unless you do some reading in the forum pages. I guarantee you will find the answers to these concerns as they are brought up quite frequently. In short, the 7 BTC giveaway is explained on the first page and is for very large miners. Payouts are sent in the next block found. The payouts below the minimum are considered dust and will be sent when the code is worked out by Kano. If you've been here for 2 weeks then you are "ramped up" which is just an average of your shares over the last 5x Network Difficulty . These shares and your work is not forgotten, just spread out so if you unplug, lose power or leave, the payouts will keep paying and ramping back down your average until it hits zero. For more information, you can look further into the thread or ask a more specific question and most likely get an answer. Just keep in mind these are asked repetitively and you may come across some salty responses.

I had already read everything in the Help>Payouts section on Kano.is, but being new, it's slightly over my head about the nuances of how it works. What you expressed about the wind up and wind down actually help put it in perspective much easier than what I read in the help section. That was a helpful analogy, so thank you for that. If there is an average of 5 days to help make things more consistent, what doesn't seem to be consistent still is the payout on average. I will search for more information in this forum to attempt to answer my own question. dThank you, again, for your great explanation and how this group can possibly treat the naive.

It's not that big of a deal, we've all been there (myself included). We've had an attempt to simplify it a few times in return for a large sum of terahash for a reward and still could not quite get it to click for a member. Everyone has their own way of understanding so whatever works. I originally meant the pages in the thread you can find almost any answer to, but it can be daunting to search all of the pages. Don't be afraid to ask, I was just warning you if you get some responses that come across as impatient, do understand there is a reason why.

Hi Everyone,
I am rather new here and have a couple of questions. It seems that the giveaway is quite old, am I correct? I would assume there are no giveaways at this time? snip
Actually, Kano's 10 7 BTC Giveaway, which is for large miners, is on-going; I am currently accepting entries for the 2nd 1TH-4-5Nd giveaway (entry deadline is Thursday night, 23:00 UTC; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg34924562#msg34924562); Shaggy, Scooby-Doo, and the Gang have been rumored to be giving out hash snax ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg34629355#msg34629355); and one or two other folks believe in the concept of Pass the Hash, as well. Stay tuned to this thread and social media for further info. As always, MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!!!

The DE node had a network disconnect for everyone mining on DE at 20:09 UTC The network took a while to properly come back to life - until 20:22 UTC - so people will have failed over to their 2nd or 3rd pool for a while. All OK again.

The s9 b23 at my main farm is also back up. Sorta. Replaced the control board with one from a batch-13 (non-auto tune) that I had been using for spares. Works perfect and even better yet now that Frankenstein once again has Freq. control

Any chance you have other older controllers around? Would you be interested in a swap? (newer for older)
