There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

So I've looked in the marketplace and eBay, without a whole lot of luck. I have an old S7 that I want to just stick in the corner and let it solo mine since I cannot sell it. Do any Kano folks have an APW3++ PSU for a reasonable cost?
The problem with mining solo is firstly you have an approximately 1 in 2.7 chance of having to wait until you've mined more than 100% i.e. major loss and secondly, that time to find a block means that you'll average loss due to diff changes will be half the diff delta e.g. if diff goes up 50% between when you start and when you find a block, you've lost 25% of your reward in diff changes. Solo mining is for gambling addicts. I’m glad you have explained that sir. What happens to a pool that can’t keep up with diff changes? This is what I was trying to get at over a year ago but just don’t have the math skills to prove it but I knew it was happening here when you had that super long dry spell. You have some loyal followers that’s for sure. BR |

I gotta say I do hope we keep the main com channels limited to just here and Discord. Already getting information fragmentation with some technical/operations points being bought up in Discord that has never been mentioned here and most likely won't be. ceste' la'vie
