bASIC units will be assembled at the same plant that the ModMiner Quad's are, they will be produced in batches of 30-50 every 5-10 days and shipped out on first come first served basis

Does that mean this old estimate of production has changed? Or have you just had 30-50 orders? Can you provide us with a sales number so the order date can be known?

Just in case; sorry if i sound like a smart ass, not trying to be. Just reading through the thread.

Hi Tom,

if I were to place a bASIC order now, do you think it will still be shipped with the first batch?  Thanks.

yes.

Awesome!

are we able to add more units to a previous order to save the shipping charge of a new order?

That would be great! I'll double my order in that case.

yes a few have already done this, just after you place your new order email tom@btcfpga.com with both order numbers, I will add all the units to your first order and delete the second.

thanks.

Would you be so kind and provide a figure for how many devices you can ship on a weekly basis, once the device is ready? If that number is well above the pre-orders I wouldn't mind if people bundle up their orders and their place in the queue is determined by their first order.

However, if #pre-orders >> #devices shipped per week, allowing people to "extend" their first order means that others are likely to get pushed back in time. In that case bundling doesn't seem fair to other customers...

on that note. It would be great if you could provide a schedule (chip production/assembly/start of shipping/#devices assembled per week) as soon as reliable figures are available. If you don't have reliable figures yet, please provide a date at which you think the information is available. (or please send me a link/message if you provided this information already).

Thanks

As far as shipping goes, please do not worry - number of devices ordered is still extremely low (especially compared to BFL), and the few people who I have let add on units to older orders, it really does not matter because we are talking 1 or 2.

I would never allow someone to add like 50 units to an old order don't worry - the numbers here are very low and unsubstantial.

Thank you for everyone's support and stay tuned for some really big updates coming very soon. Smiley

we will have a much concise ship date in october. Right now I am working on getting the production board design finished and getting some prototypes to the developers. When the software side is in the works we will have a much better idea.

Thanks

Hi Tom,
Though I have received your order confirmation by email, the account page on your website does not appear to indicate any orders in the "View your order history" page.  Is this normal?  Thank you.

Getting cgminer to work with it certainly shouldn't take very long once we get the devices.
... I can see myself working sleeplessly if it does take longer than expected Smiley

number of devices ordered is still extremely low (especially compared to BFL)

i guess this is because your device costs >1k$
i liked the quad idea to plug in extra units later Sad
only BFL has units for small miner

Maybe it is because he doesn't claim to be a "market leader in microprocessor design" or because he doesn't make promises that he knows he can't keep. Who wants to deal with a creep like that?
