Would be nice if someone made a fee based Nvidia miner for Zcash or Zcoin. I've been back on Ethereum since Saturday... It's silly, since launch of Pascal there really hasn't been any optimized miners for it besides Lbry and that died out shortly there after as Wolf made a comparable miner for ancient AMD stuff.

I have $400 GPUs that make as much as $200 ones. I can't even buy software to make it better. It's not like it's too expensive, it just doesn't fucking exist so I don't even have the option to buy it.

Like that 10% miner that was taken down. It offered 50sol on a 1070 and a 10% dev fee, so 45. Still better then what we're working with, but people axed it right away.

That miner is still in out there and will be improved upon.  Check the zcash forum for a link.

Last I looked at it it was really buggy and no Windows binaries. I know there is still a thread on the Zcash forums, but it didn't look like the developer was still working on it after his Git got shut down.

What are the Nvidia devs even doing? Assuming DJM had legitimate speeds (which were contested), why haven't there been any other releases by other Nvidia devs?

I buy private Nvidia miners. Send information and/or inquiries to my PM box.

But what power consumption?
The cost of the card is not nearly as important as how much it draws.

If somebody port the silent army kernel to cuda I will take a look and optimize.

My cards were consuming 150Watts mining Ethereum.  A little less when Zcash mining.
Undervolted cards running 1000/1500 and 45Sols/s

Fellow miners, get your thens and thans in order and help other forum readers understand what you are writing. Remember the grammar basics:  B larger THAN A (comparator operator). If something THEN ....

Yes I know, it is just that I have been looking after bensams journey to higher sols/s.

If you need heating during winter you pay for that, one way or another.

undervolted, pulling less than 100 watts. 7950 with custom bios doing 45 sol/s as well.

Power consumption hasn't mattered in close to a year due to income per card. You'd have to have some pretty expensive power for it to be up there. Closest it was to power usage was before Zcash launch, but even then it was only (for me) 30% of my revenue. January before all the new algos took off was really bad, but that was a long time ago.

Power draw might matter again this January after Ethereum is dead, but a decent amount can happen between then and now.

The cost of the power a card will use thru its life will likely be more than its value. For sure much more than its cost minus the resale price.
Hence the power usage matters more than the buying cost.

Thats why I like the 10603gb cards bether than the 1070.
 I get 23 sol/s on the 1060 with only 43 watt.
Compare it to claymores the 280x use 250.watt and.produce 45 sol.
I do 133 sol with the same watt.

sp_ is just spamming his own thread haha! Is that is the reason why I have so much snow in my backyard? You went to ´powersavescandinavia' mode?

pallas, what is that break even point wattage/ buying costs?

Depends on too many factors.
You must find out yourself, and continually adapt to the conditions.
Btw I don't think Claymore does 250W on the 280x. I think much less.

Give me one example with your numbers where less power is more profitable than more hash.
Don't get me wrong, I understand it can happen. If it happens here during wintertime I quit mining.

And yes, 250w is too much.

a system with a 290x and a 280x draws 402 W from the wall (celeron cpu, 50% load), so it should be around 150-175 for the 280x

LBRY is +14% today with sp-mod private #3 you make $2,4 a day with the gtx 1070 (300MHASH)
$3.2 on the gtx 1080 (400MHASH)

You should mine and donate so I can release #4 with more hash and bugfixes...

Your private Lbry mod does 300 Mh/s per 1070?

Epsylon3's 1.8.1 release does the same.

Resale value doesn't matter as much as how much you can mine with it while using it. Life expectancy is at least until the next generation of cards (2XXX series for Nvidia) or something major happens, such as AMD mines a crypto a lot better then Nvidia and the cards become worthless as far as mining goes.

I can't speak for the 280, but my 270x cards are giving 38Sol and drawing well under their 150w design (probably 100w usage)

So by your numbers, the 1060 (@$400) is barely better than a used 270x for $70.

The price of a 1060 (23sol / 43w) you can have 5-270x cards (180sol / ~500w)

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461
No longer a wannabe - now an ASIC owner!

With optimal settings release #3 does 322.
