Why is everyone calling 1st Jan 2017. Use some other dates.
LOL It's not rocket science - if you calculate the number of blocks processed per day up until block 1,200,000 you get Jan 1st 2017 roughly. Wait, you mean I didn't have to do all of those calculus formulas?

Just wondering what everyone here thinks of pure vidz. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1696889.msg17023372#msg17023372I dont use torrents much but I do stream most of the tv and movies I watch and these guys look like a winner to me. I know this thread is full of much more experienced people when it comes to streaming and torrenting so I'd figure Id ask for your opinion before deciding on investing. I cant wait to see what you guys reply.

Im not surprise to see another ICO attempts to get some BTC from people hoping for cryptocurrency and torrent related type project, and easy answer, vTorrent is still a clear winner since Purevidz is just for video streaming which is just merely part of vTorrent which is focus on whole bittorent scene. Their tech demo stuff is pretty smart to make some people excited but trust me torrent streaming on site is not something they have created and have been showcased long ago. Don't be foolish and give btc to another ICO before project is actually proven to be real deal. Meh! Check out the original source of their so-call tech showcase https://ferrolho.github.io/magnet-player/... ... Purevidz even used the same clip for demo.

Hi. I am thinking about investing in that ico. Can you tell me where I can find another coin with free streaming so I can look at the two of them. I know now that v torrent is different. Purevidz will specialize in one aspect of torrents and v torrent will try and tackle the whole problem. I want to see other coins though because you said its done before so can you please post a link or two so I may get caught up.

someone mentioned some ways to protect people seeding torrents like i2p. is that integrated into the wallet? Can law enforcement host fake torrents and look for ip's of direct connections like they usually do, or does it require all users protecting themselves via all those methods that typical torrenters use? Most people I know avoid torrents due to that reason - lots of work to stay anonymous and relies on trust in the vpn or invite only system. It says it's anonymous transactions. What about data transfers?

If you check the devs post history, they said that "the next update would bring us in line with SDC and more", so we would be getting tor and i2p. That means IP would be hidden. As for the data transfer between seeders, I'm not 100% sure that the data is encrypted, I hope it is, it would make sense to encrypt it, I can't recall any conversations on here about that, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

So you're saying... when the hard fork happens, post about it on twitter and we might get some vtr?
-Pickle
No. Not when it happens. Post your predictions about when it will happen. If you are correct, you can win. And win BIG. This is a way to socialise that a hard fork is coming and people need to be aware of it and be prepared for it. We don't want a vTorrent chain and a vTorrentClassic chain.

Been thinking about encrypted data between clients, if it is encrypted then you wouldn't need to use a VPN for torrenting. That right there would save users money. Anyone care to comment?

Guessing game:
101 VTRs to the person that can get closest to the the time of block 1,200,000
Closing date is 10 Dec, 00.00 GMT.
One entry per day allowed - so you can post one guess each day: up to 11.59 time, according to BCT post clock.
January 1st 1:24PM January 2nd 10:39AM Damn, forgot to post. For shits: maybe Santa is feeling generous... December 25th 4:00PM January 1st 6:25PM December 31st 11:59pm January 1st 9:00AM Just under a month till new features in the wallet. And then the second hard fork is when? Like March? or February? I guess its not just me being afraid of purevidz being another scammer judging from grand total of 2.75 btc invested so far from 2 investors in purevidz ICO, I am willing to bet that you are one of them, and please quote me completely so people can see how I proof to you that purevidz ICO is very dangerous and must stay away. Open your eyes and brain, The purevidz is simply just a SITE with NOT decentralized service from their so called 'moderator'. And the token has not much to do with torrent with blockchain AT ALL. qouting from purevidz dev: How does the site earn
-Advertisements -Referral services -Merchant partners for android TV devices featuring the site -Featured site media -Premium membership fees
How do investors earn?
-Trading based on the value of the coin -Coins burned through site mechanisms (equates to same earnings as a profit share) -Buyback programs funded by a fixed percentage of all site revenue
How to contributors earn? -Filling bounties for new content -Participating in viral marketing campaigns -Reviewing submitted content (must be moderator) -Developing applications and sites using the site's API
I'm sorry if you already invested in purevidz, please try to make some back getting in vTorrent right now.

I'm sorry if you already invested in purevidz, please try to make some back getting in vTorrent right now. I'm quoting this so when they surpass their goal I can come back and ask you how that happened if everyone is affarid. I think everyone is affarid of this coin because its very complicated and vidz seems very easy to use and watch movies on. I will be back in once month closer to the end of the ico and we can discuss this again then.

Not sure if stupid or trolling to gather suckers Just to be clear. You are promoting that people invest in a project whose stated goal is to be an illegal site for distributing copyrighted materials. You / the whatever site are asking people to invest using Bitcoin. These Bitcoin payments can be tracked back to their owners, now or in the future, who then become a target for knowingly facilitating an illegal service. No. Worse. Receiving profits by virtue of having invested. Prosecutor: "I put it to you that you sent funds to an ICO address, knowing that the ICO was to raise funds for an overtly illegal website." Defense: "Err...." Prosecutor: "I put it to you that you were expecting to profit from the promotion of copyrighted materials and that you did in fact receieve some small profits from the illegal site you helped to set-up" Defense: "Err...." As far as BitTorrent is concerned, that is a totally legal client. As far as I'm concerned, vTorrent is much the same. So....GTO
