feeling like a brainiac, added nodes from there,still didn't get connection. --> rolled around wondering why looking at settings over and over again for 15 minutes and then it hit me,my conf was named vTorrent-Hd.conf and as I renamed it to be vTorrent.conf.
Works like a charm now, sometimes my stupidity amazes me over and over
Not really your fault, it's down to the community to provide instructions for people new to the project.
There is a video that covers your issue and some instructions from the devs, but it's not easy to find. We'll have to work harder on that. The help tools are building up, but they need to be visible.
Once we see the next wallet release I'd like to help put together some solid documentation;
I'm thinking properly written steps along with screenshots all the way through.
Hoping to cover Windows & Mac OS X--might need some help with Linux though.
It'd be nice to have a crypto project where people don't need to ask where the nodes file goes or where the blockchain etc is stored.
Once the documentation is done I'd ask the dev to consider including it with the wallet so people get a really good experience using vTorrent--compared to other projects where you pretty much have to grind your teeth because people assume the stuff that they spent hours having to figure out when they first got started is
not common knowledge.
vTorrent should be the turnkey cryptocurrency that pretty much _anyone_ can get up and running just by using a single EXE file. It'd shouldn't require any specialist knowledge of cryptocurrency.
