All it takes is like minded individuals to do their share to contribute. What do we need? Land, stage, equipment, potties. This will fall into place, just like my life has, with time.
If it really comes down to money, one million attendees donate $5, average, $5 million dollars, plenty.

................................... I can do a show with 48 hours notice if you have that budget. I'll even handle the insurance. We can uhhhh fit it into the 1mil stage budget.
So, want to promote Dankfest : location to be announced later improv crowdsource festival nationwide? I could have teams up and promoting within 2 weeks. Say the word dank. It'll cost, of course, but I'm sure you won't accidentally pre-sell thousands of tickets to a mystery event that has any problems.
Do you even care who else plays? You can open it to the public. Imagine how much you'd save in logistics concerns if you just had 2 open stages people can sign up for like an open mic night and run 10-20 minute sets.
You are a genius dank. Consultancy fee goes to the address in my Sig.

Care to bet on it Dank? You could make good money - I'll give you 1000:1 odds it won't happen. Put up 6btc and you can finance your lounge completely!

That's quite a statement to make, there's only one reality? There is only one true reality, but there are infinite alternate realities our consciousness has created. Life is one of them.
Dreams our consciousness creates are not reality. What you think (imagine) inside your mind is not reality. I've told you this before, but you seem to have forgotten. Reality is the state of things as they actually exist, rather than as they may appear or might be imagined.Let's go back to quantum physics, the part where particles change into waves in the absence of a conscious observer. Dreams are just as real as life, life is but a dream. how do you explain a camera? is a camera a conscious observer? how do you trick a camera into recording a different reality if it doesn't have a brain?

But I can't really see the need for more than 1 mil for the stage, 1 mil for audio, .5mil for subfacilities and cool lights/lasers.
So you're pulling numbers out of your ass just like you did with the hookah lounge instead of actually finding out everything you'll need to organise/procure and getting quotes for it. A lot of this stuff will need to be booked months in advance, so you need to find out about it now. You can't even begin getting permits until you've picked a venue and a date. Then you have to organise everything being available at that location on that date. Organising this event should be taking up at least 8 hours of your time each day and you need to find co-organisers within a week. You don't have any money yet, so you can't pay other people to handle the logistics, booking, permits, etc for you. I think someone should design a running total graphic so that we can track how close to his goal of $5 million dank is as the donations come rolling in. If he's aiming to raise $5 million by the end of the year, his daily target is $58,823.Gathering of the Dankalos. LOL What, like this? Wait, DankBank's footprint is... ahem, too subtle. Allow me to isolate: Oops, seems like you'll need some cash sharpish, you'll default in 10 days. Oh wait, karma, right? All it takes is like minded individuals to do their share to contribute. What do we need? Land, stage, equipment, potties. This will fall into place, just like my life has, with time.

Yeah, 'cause you'll get 2.5m$ (according to your numbers, who have the unsurprising smell of anus about them) in unsecured service advances from a plethora of providers on the promise that people might give you money. But how? You don't want ticket booth people, expect to collect by hand cash from a million people? Oh, and your list of logisticals is hilariously short, once again your naive and simplistic view of the world shines right through... A few: - Food - Water - Housing - Permits & taxes - Promo- Bands - Common sense Nice to see you think you'll grab a cool 2.5m$ for your efforts though...

It's called donations. When people see something in a cause they support, they often donate. Thank you, by the way, whoever may have sent that last donation. Don't know what to say about it, much appreciated.
Your graphs are very inaccurate, fgervais, no one is defaulting, I'm about to return #0004's deposit early, tomorrow.

You still need to make advance payments. Oh, and the returns are on the graph, notice the sharp drops?

All it takes is like minded individuals to do their share to contribute.
And what, exactly, are you going to contribute? What is your share? You sound like one of those teenagers who has "a great idea for a game" and then wants everyone else to execute that idea for nothing. Based on past experience, you're going to leave any actual work involved in organising this event up to others because you don't care for planning things. You'd best be opening a bank account, too. You're not going to get 1 million people wanting to pay in Bitcoins and your suppliers/service providers are going to want to be paid upfront in dirty fiat money. Anyone want to work out what the insurance premiums alone would be for an event with an anticipated attendance of 1 million people? One of the questions you're required to answer when applying for special event insurance here is your past experience running similar events. You also need to provide the details of the insurance - including the coverage amount - carried by security, contractors, vendors, performers as well as submit your risk management plan with your application. That's just for public liability. Adverse weather, cancellation, fidelity and material damage insurance costs extra and requires additional information.

Updated per your reimbursement tomorrow: Stated liquidities fall short on the 50 BTC loan return. P-p-p-p-ponzi!

Without a venue or location or any actual info needed, I'd say around 80-140k.

Without a venue or location or any actual info needed, I'd say around 80-140k. Remember, we're talking 1m attendance, twice the volume of Woodstock. Speaking of, after checking with a broker I use for my own special events, this comes up: Yeah. Oh, and shit's upfront, in a fiat escrow account, from a major bank or their choice of lawyer.

Yes, insurance is definitely needed to have a gathering of people.
fgervais, the actual cash on hand value would not fit on that chart.

Yes. Yes it is, at least if you want the permits. And not get mauled when someone gets inevitably hurt in a crowd of a fucking million people.

Do you really believe that you're not required to have insurance for a music festival, even if you're not charging people for admission? The list of laws and regulations you'll have to comply with will make your head spin. You could hold it in Somalia, I guess. They're infrastructure has fallen apart so you wouldn't have to worry too much about legal issues. And I'm sure that their citizens would welcome some free entertainment.
