Maybe someone can help me - for the last 2 weeks or so almost every stake is "generated but not accepted". Am I running the wrong version of the wallet? (version 1.4.0.0). Or is something else wrong? I'm pretty much about to give up on this coin. Thanks for your help!

Anyone have any ideas about this? Everything I staked today was rejected again Sad

I think you may be on the wrong wallet. I'm running 1.5.00, and I'm pretty sure it was a mandatory update. Try updating, it will probably fix it.

Hi everyone, this is crest

I am currently in the middle of moving and don't have access to my account and may be without internet for a few days.

I don't have much time so ill make this brief

DCgirl, please upgrade to the latest version 1.5 and it will solve your problem as it was a mandatory upgrade to tighten the block drift.

Also, the orphans you see are normal and is latency, a block is accepted but is orphaned by a larger block that arrived before it.I have a test ready that is there to help combat orphans and improve connectivity one page back but just needs to be compiled and tested, just ran out of time.

Oh fantastic, got wifi on my journey.

Yeah so I have been packing over the last couple days but was using quite a strong password but not able to access that, trued to reset my password but not getting the email. Will be a day or so without my computers to do testing and such, maybe have to sweet talk the mods if I can't get my password reset.

Anyways, ill let you guys know as I get more sit uated.

Someone mentioned about the 50% per year and 30 coins per blocks being confusing, so before block 50k it was 50% calculated per year and after block 50k it was changed to a static rate of 30 coins per block. I picked up a bit of extra CON along with around 3k that was donated through stake. I want to do an OP competition once I get sorted so how that would work is I would redo the OP the best I can, and then people can quote it and edit whatever way they want and get paid some CON depending on the amount of complexity of the edit, then the next turn gets edited and so forth.

I was also provided a nice guide for setting up an auto updating bootstrap to help new users sync to the highest chain much faster so will be working on that as well. Ill have about a month off to do work on crypto, wonder how much I can get done.

Hey Crest, lemme get this straight, pos is 30 con for every block? Not 50% right? Or is 50% but the max you can get is 30?

POS is 30 CON per Block  Cool
Somone should edit out 50% from op then. It's confusing.

Its 30 Coins for every block regardless of the size of the block, up to a maximum of 14 day coinage, the smallest blocks I have seen stake lately were around 300 coins but that might be a little misleading because the default stake theshold is 500 but I doubt anyone changes it. Most blocks are between 500-1000 that are currently staking, smaller blocks would take longer but yeild a higher % reward, larger blocks will stake sooner and can compound a little.

Hope this helps

This might be anoying for you. but if your total balance is around  8.5k CON you´ll get in average 0.6 - 1% daily by staking which is 90 CON for you or 3 blocks per day.

I'd love to know how to calculate these incomes. Is there some kind of way to do the math with difficulty and block size?
Also does this mean that with 115k i'll make around 2.5k a day?

Sounds more like 1k a day from 115k if you do the math Wink

i begann staking CON because of the static block reward. And for the first two month of staking i just made an sheet and notet it down..and in average it made me 1% daily, also Crestington wrote a few pages back that its daily 0.6% now.
But its staking so it will be one day a bit more and the other day less or nothing  Grin

With 115k, and you had 115 Blocks of 1000 Coins to Stake at the minimum age, that would be roughly 1800 CON per day. Of course you can also play around with your Block sizes and see if you can squeeze a little more out of it.

You want to atleast gain as much as the money supply growth, but I'd say on average about 50% of the network is Staking at any given time so if there is 0.6% inflation per day, your target should be around 1% per day.

I'll take a look at it, the place I was at before had really bad connection to the internet, could browse mostly but always getting cut off, couldn't run any local wallets. I've got lightning fast internet now and about a month off with no obligations, If you thought I was active before...

Here you go try this.

I collected all the peer addresses from my largest node and added it into a config file that you can add and have better connection with the network, I get atleast 50% more connections when using it.

Quote
Go to Control Panel
In the Search box, type Folder
Click "Folder Options"
Click the tab that says View
Make sure there is no check in the box for "Hide file extensions for known file types" (de-select this option and click OK)
Exit Control Panel

On Windows 8, right-click the start button and select "Run"
(for Windows 7, left-click the start button and type "run" into "Search Programs and Files", then click Run at the top of the list)
In "Run", type %appdata% and press Enter
You should see the folder located at Appdata/Roaming
Open the PayCon folder
Right-click and Create New File - create a new Text document
Open the document with Notepad
Paste the following into the file: (but put a username and password instead of "username" and "password")

What's the advantages of more connections? I've got about 10-16 (can't remember exact number) but more than 10 for sure.

I normally get about 65 connections, the advantage is that it populates among the network much quicker and gives better consensus. I'm also testing out some of my latest changes at the moment, looks pretty good so far and already an improvement.
