MandelDuck have just shared a cool video showing SoG Cards used in SaruTobi. Click on the pic to see the video. Well done to both the SoG and MandelDuck team! Hope to see more of these collaborations between games.

The BCY experiment is one of the more exciting crypto experiments that is out there today. Why? Because it is on the cusp of testing a legitimate crypto use case in the in-game economy of Spells Of Genesis. Some other crypto uses cases that are out there are: cloud storage (Sia, Storj), cloud data verification (FCT), cloud apps (ETH) But it is surprising that in-game economy hasn't really had a true mainstream effort yet. some coins have tried in-game economies but the games are not mainstream mass-market games. So now we are on the cusp of releasing a potentially very popular game whose entire economy is built around crypto. These two paragraphs in the OP are most interesting to me: When purchasing game items such as card packs in Spells of Genesis, players will have the option to use their local currency on the Google Play/AppStore or BitCrystals in the secondary market. Here’s how it works:
A - When a player purchases a card pack via Google Play/AppStore Each time a player purchases a card pack via Google Play/AppStore using their local currency, EverdreamSoft will buy back 50% of its value in BitCrystals from backers (anyone who owns BitCrystals) and burn them in order to issue a new card pack.
B - When a player purchases a card pack using BitCrystals If a player uses BitCrystals to purchase new cards and game items from the secondary market, EverdreamSoft keeps 50% of the BitCrystals and sends the other 50% to Gutenberg (Gutenberg is our project codename for the platform which burns BitCrystals).
I presume EDS will buy BCY on the markets... What will happen to BCY when thousands of dollars in BCY are being purchased every day... you have an instant market maker in the company itself. You cannot mine these coins so the in-game economy will drive the price higher every single day. Coupled with gaming assets that are owned by the user and are infinitely usable in any future game that wants to use those assets in some way.... The big BCY bump will happen when the game hits the market and EDS starts buying coins. The second huge bump will happen when SOG assets are used in a second game..... I am excited for this coin and company and invested... so go team! I guess you have not heard of gamecredits and digibyte. You really cannot get more mainstream then counterstrike. Glad to have others using this model as I mentioned, but BCY is the most ambitious and potentially the most long-term and mainstream due to card assets. The potential to carry forward you assets 100 years in the future of card gaming is pretty cool. The first game I remember based on crypto was Hunter, so not a new concept, maybe others were before Hunter... the point is that EDS and SOG and BCY is crypto-gaming 2.0 in my view.

I like the idea behind the game.
Playing Blizzards Hearthstone I know the pain of not really owning the in game assets.
Can I actually trade cards with other players within Spells of Genesis?

Yes you can. All blockchain cards (which are assets in counterparty) can be tradeable. This will be the first time in gaming history that people own cards that is almost impossible to duplicate. For instance I have a Satoshi card and only 200 were sold. The rarity of these cards have gone up an insane value from the presale. I think they're worth close to 4 btc now each. The other cool aspect is that other games are using some of the cards as special powerups. For instance, Sarutobi (a flying monkey NES style game) uses three cards as powerups (satoshi, Zaid and sarutobi). It's the first time in gaming history where actually game assets can used interchangeably in 2 games.

Not within the game but you can trade on Slack, on the Counterparty DEX, on Tokenly Swapbots, on IndieSquare Wallet. There will be more third party option as well as the ecosystem grows. If you feel like joining Slack here you go: https://spellsofgenesis.signup.team/.

Or were the rarest cards just for purchase in the early stage of the game? I like the idea behind the game.

yes players can offer their cards for sale on the counterparty DEX, on their own swapbots, or by private sale. See offers at sogassets.com or in the card trading channel of the SoG slack. Some players and partners have also posted their offers on this thread.

Only few cards are sold out. I think Satoshi is actually not one of them and they are putting it on sale from time to time ( I just checked and saw Issuer still holds 19 Satoshi cards). I remember they announcing that on Twitter. So far there are lots blockchain cards and and could be only bought. And this also gives them high value. Many cards was bought by speculators and soem cards will never be on sale for regular players, but for partners and premium members only. But there will be also some cards that you will collect and upgrade in game and i guess after maximizing it it will become blockchain card and you will be able to trade it same way as bought cards. Is hard to say fr me since is not yet in current testing phase. but they announced it here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=957797.msg14311585#msg14311585 It could change ofcourse since game is stil being made and can things change fast and this post is allready few months old.

Hi everyone, I signed up on the Spells of Genesis website way back when. Haven't really checked up on the development of the game since.
Looks like the game has been released? Where can I play it? (I have an Android). Also, it appears as if I have some number of BitCrystals in my account. How can I access them?
Thanks!

The teams know each other, I believe they are both from Switzerland, however Beyond The Void (BtV) will be based on Ethereum. BtV liked was SoG did with BCY so they'd want to replicate the model and offer their token to buy game assets. Not sure but there might be some extra benefits in BtV if you own some of the SoG Cards and/or new ones to be created. Not 100% on that.

Game is in beta stages, and you can play online at http://spellsofgenesis.com/play or download the Android .apk at http://spellsofgenesis.com/play/last.php. Full release should be around September time. BCY in your account have gone by now, you were supposed to claim them time ago by adding a counterparty compatible address to your account. I don't think you'll be bale to claim them anymore, the team will know best.

My BitCrystals (272.50) are still shown in the balance. I just signed up with counterwallet.io and linked my public key. What other steps are to be taken? That is, assuming my BCY are still redeemable.

I just installed the Indiesquare wallet and wondered how I can trade with the public merchant to actually buy e.g. the "Knight of Dash"?
For now, the wallet only lists BTC and XCP.
I assume I somehow have to load it with BCY (by sending BCY to the address that is being listed when I tap on the bottom "receive" button?), then send the equivalent amount of BCY needed for the card to the address of the public merchant and then I can review the card in my balance in the Indiesquare wallet? o.o
