that update sounds like they are no where near a working Gen 2 product at the moment - long term it sounds promising I guess

As experience tells us, cost per GH is more important than efficiency during the big hashpower inflation and from that perspective Gen 1 is still sufficiently competitive by being able to adjust prices continually.

Update before divs. Divs must be awful.

From a technical standpoint, every update precedes dividends since they are paid weekly. The odds of an update occurring the same day as a dividend is obviously 1/7. I doubt you can draw any conclusion from that.

It appears as if FC is investing in that newfangled cooling system which can be used in multiple industries and applications aside from mining. I am not certain this is the sort of thing many investors had envisioned when they purchased stock in a mining and ASIC company. There are however related upsides. Heat generation from chip densities might well be a future issue with ASIC producers particularly in data centers. Solving this problem before it becomes a roadblock could indeed provide AM with another competitive advantage as the saturation phase advances. Heat dissipation gave BFL a big black eye when they had to redesign. This problem is only going to get worse, and addressing it now may be pure genius.

I can't even imagine the hash capabilities of a single card jammed with hundreds of 40nm chips if you could keep it from melting down to the center of the Earth. Or a datacenter with thousands of them.

Sure. But, silence lasting for weeks, and now an update in front of divs. Hmmm.

I challenge you to imagine what you would do if there are no divs. (Unlikely since one of the purposes of the div is to confirm shareholder holdings, introducing an incentive to give out at least 400,000*dust). On a similar note how do you think this would affect the stock price  Grin

Sounds like Gen 3. Gen 2 has been fully designed and awaiting order quantity (unless I'm wrong)

Right now, reasonable div.
Short term (this month), we'll get incomes from 500TH/s sold/mining.
Long term, FC update sounds very promising to me.

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's.
This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

All is bad for you guys.

If friedcat doesn't update all the people crying, and if he updates it sounds suspicious.

wasn't there an update like a week ago?

and you realize this last update is not from Friedcat, right?  It says so at the very top: Official ASICMiner Update by the Board

Quite respectable all things considered, IMO.

Great dividend considering the current hash rate, lack of new products for sale/mining, and the fact that AsicMiner has been withholding a percentage of the dividend for reinvestment.

so is 65/55 nm design done ?
and 40 nm will be in 2014 ?

any details of immersion cooling production in plans ?
what about huge hubs ?

when hardware prices will be lowered ? (blades, usb)
what about new blade design with lan connection in backplane ?
any news about revised usb miners ?
when website will be launched ?
any plans to build datacenter in siberia or other cheap place ?
any plans on moving to island with solar/wind/thermal energy?

friedcat please invest money in solar energy solutions and wind turbines, this is real future.
also bitcoin atms and payment gates/terminals in china

mining income will be shorter and shorter we need a decent plan b

i am holding shares, they are really cheap now, but i regret not selling at 5 Smiley
