HK is like Vegas; it never sleeps, so it could mean they show up at 23:59 and testing starts a 00:01. Just don't try and get anything done around New Year.

The last 5 times china "banned" bitcoin seem to have had no effect on AM why will it this time?

I don't believe the gradual restrictions on BTC in China has had "no effect" on AM - if nothing else, at least through the exchange rate and the size of the potential market for chips. It's no secret that it's getting gradually harder for bitcoin businesses in China, and it would be unwise to ignore potential regulatory threats.

Their wavers are not made in China as far as I know, so they don't need the money in China.

Also, Hong Kong is not China. It' the freest economy in the world. it's an off-shore tax haven, it's where Chinese and businesses around the world keep their money save from their own government (seemingly, lol).

Hong Kong retains top spot of world's freest economy

Hong Kong Bitcoin Exchange:
https://anxbtc.com/

Bitfountain is, as far as I know, incorporated in Shenzhen and not in Hong Kong. So unless they have moved, they are still subject to the normal Chinese regulations.

I'm not spreading FUD here, I would just like to know if it is creating any complications for AM's operation (and, if so, how it will be addressed).

I'm all for more communication and news, but I wouldn't have expected some today! Friedcat said the chips will be 'out' on friday. In my books this means they'd be leaving the plant. The earliest date for AM to receive them would be saturday. Do they deliver on sunday? Maybe they'll receive them on monday. And they still need to be tested. If everything's set up they could do this within hours, maybe. But they'll want to make sure all specifications are correct and advertise the actual performance of the physical chips.
These days are unsettling, yes, but there's no reason to panic (yet). If there's no announcement after wednesday, I'll get nervous.

And divs... Well yeah, 1 block and some dust. The fees would swallow all of the transacted BTCs...  Tongue  Cheesy

I should have gotten into Bitcoin back in 1992...

Last news was on 23rd, not a long time ago by his standards.

Considering the commitment to pay a weekly dividend and the fact that this has been defaulted on without any announcement - it is a very long time by any standards.

There weren't any meaningful bitcoins to distribute.

Oh really?!  Grin

I takes one minute to log into the forum and post sth. like "Due to peanuts in revenues we will not pay a dividend this week but will include all dues with the next dividend."

And please not the next comment: "But friedcat is probably busy with XYZ..."  Cheesy

To add to that I think we are just about mining what we pay in electricity.

Assuming 1MW for both datacenters at $0.15/kwh means $25,000 in electricity alone so we need 2 blocks a week to break even.

Regardless of the amount the principle of paying a dividend based on agreement deserves attention. A simple "You ain't getting dirt cause it went to the office coffee fund."  would have sufficed IMHO.

All revenue showing in the mining address has been distributed as dividends recently. And a lot of fiat sales revenue had been held back as company assets. I am too lazy to quote the friedcat post on this.

And again, there is the commitment to pay a weekly dividend. If that cannot be honoured for one or the other reason - no big deal. But communication takes just a minute.

Exactly. Thanks.

It takes one second to look up the revenue address to see there is pennies to pay out which means no dividends.

Please though panic and sell your shares fc is doing something shady clearly.

You are the one who expects friedcat to perform the work for you. If you look at the address there is enough for .000065 per share. Based on that dividends are not to be expected and based on friedcast's history there is no reason he would post about something as minor as not paying a dividend that is pennies compared to all the rest.

What else can you be implying if you need fc to state he is not giving out dividends. That implies a lack of confidence and the he is doing something under the table to hurt the shareholders so you want him to give a statement to prove he is not shady. I don't see any other way of reading that but I guess you do.

Anyone else seeing what appears to be Havelock locked up on AM trading ATT? Could be the whole exchange experiencing issues but it's so difficult to load on my end I can't tell.

No one panic. I believe it's a technical issue so don't jump to conclusions. I'm experiencing a problem with another site utilizing CloudFlare FWIW.
