It does make me wonder a bit more about havelock, I wouldn't worry about Mircea that Romanian can hold Her own (lol) and the guy that actually runs mpex has more than enough backups including his Tor one etc.

I suspect EB took a *lot* more than $60k in fees. Right, but with a lifetime ban from securities markets and an inflation rate that's about to ignite again...let's hope he kept it in bitcoin. Burnside always came off a good dude; I always trusted him and BTC-TC. Just to add to what I'd said yesterday - anyone remember when the AM share price erupted to over 0.30 over the summer on very, very thin news (the announcement of the open-sourcing of the Tubes, if I remember correctly)...someone controls the bots that have had ~100 share large orders on both the bid and ask books covering the spread this whole time. After over a year of extremely volatile trading in the AM equity markets, I would guess that individual's quarterly profits would dwarf Havelock's annual revenues by at least an order of magnitude...

Yeah, it's crazy, isn't it? Initially I thought there was some announcement about gen 4 by FC or something, but it seems to be some independent buy. There has also been some thoughts it could've been someone manipulating the market by buying into his/her own bids, therefore luring people into buying more shares (his/her own shares at a higher price)

I think that gen 4 is make or break for this company, and it it does turn out on spec they should stick to selling bulk chips.

It does make me wonder a bit more about havelock, I wouldn't worry about Mircea that Romanian can hold Her own (lol) and the guy that actually runs mpex has more than enough backups including his Tor one etc. Jon Montroll, owner of weexchange was way past sketchy: the guy is a criminal. He stole over 5000 btc of his depositors money and absconded with a bunch of loans, never even giving an excuse. Hate this guy so much. Burnsides SeC ruling worries me on Havelock's operating status. The SeC is basically the banking elites' monopoly enforcement agency , and have a global reach, so at least for American users there must be at least some reason for concern? The SEC is pretty much effectively above the law because they make the law on these matters, any threat to the Big Scam of the endless money machine their masters control will be quickly shutdown (its only the small scale of btc securities that have saved it so far ). Regarding the recent share price increase (about 50% in the last few days, this is a big deal) I'm taking this as a very good sign regarding gen4, there is definitely some news that hasn't hit us yet. It could be just market manipulation, but I don't think so, because if there wasn't big news we haven't heard yet, then I think the guy with a few hundred shares would be too over exposed at .15 share price if there was no good foundation, because the price would quickly rebound to a more reasonably .10 and loose more money than gained IMHO. I suppose it is possible its just one guy mostly buying and selling shares to himself...

As was saying, sec is not limited to US. And at the least they could block any American users from using Havelock, which I'm assuming is where a good chunk of the userbase is from.

False. You must have gotten into Bitcoin after the GLBSE fiasco.

Im quite sure havelock is legally obligated (under US law) to make sure its customers are not US citizens. The same applies to pretty much any industrialized country btw. Unless the operators of havelock have no intention of ever leaving Panama, they would be very unwise to not comply if/when the SEC tells them. And when that happens, well, we've seen it all before when exchanges start demanding proof of ID/residency.

Any company, whose stock is trading on HaveLock, is doing illegal business. HaveLock is awaiting the same fate of GLBSE.

Gen4 reporting on board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=888260.0But why bother to announce it on hardware section since friendcat don't want to provide samples. Maybe there would be more miners based on BE200 not only foulty prismas...

Under development Modular UPGRADEABLE Miner (MUM). Looking for investors. Changing one PCB with screwdriver and you have brand new miner in hand... Plug&Play, scalable from one module to thousands.

Shouldn't we all be super stoked right now? We produced the test boards in December 2nd, and got the packaged sample chips last night. We were busy testing since then and had some preliminary data already.
Technology: TSMC 28nm HPC
Package: FCLGA 5mm x 5mm
On chip efficiency: 0.56V | 4.8GH/s | 1.95A | 0.2275W/G 0.60V | 5.2GH/s | 2.14A | 0.2469W/G
We are still testing more voltage-frequency combinations, as well as more chips. But the test results are stable and solid so far.
Our power solution evolved from Prisma allows very low overhead in supplying very low voltage levels to chips compared to standard DC/DC converters. Therefore on-wall power consumption would be very close to (our on-chip power/PSU efficiency).
After the thorough testing of single chip boards, we are going to test boards with chained chips.

Certainly its better news than 'the chip doesnt work', but these are a few samples on a shared multiproject wafer. The idea is to be able to tweak the design before producing a full mask set. That means that mask set isnt done yet, and it will probably be 3+ months before production chips arrive if they were ordered today. At least bitfury and spondoolies promised 0.2J/GH at the wall late this year or early next year (and twice that efficiency next year). Assuming they, or bitmain or anyone else, can achieve that, AM will be a fews months behind and with worse efficiency (*). Hardly a better competitive situation than BE200 was in, and that wasnt exactly a commercial slam dunk. Its a shame friedcat didnt trust his design enough to go for full mask sets directly, that would have been something to be "super stoked" about. Now, its mostly a matter of hoping the competition doesnt meet its goals. (*) numbers are still being updated and probably relate to few, possibly just 1 chip, so they may still change.
