Wapfika seems like we're not moving in to any direction with this conversation Cheesy

I left my reply above if you're up for discussing it further.

It's great to have someone who really knows their stuff about the casino industry joining in on the discussion! I gave your comment an upvote (merit) to give it some extra weight because I feel like you brought up some solid points that deserve more attention. Let's keep this conversation going and dig into those points for some interesting discussion.
1022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 02, 2023, 07:31:10 AM
In the past we had decentralised gambling platforms in which people of any age can spend their money gambling. Nowadays those aren't available anymore and everyone signing up is required to fulfill KYC. Through this the underaged ones can be restricted from using the platforms.

That is simply not true. There are still a few casinos without KYC requirements and most do not require KYC upon registration, only upon exceeding certain account or wagering levels. So the underage still have plenty of room in crypto-space to gamble.

That's right! I don't know where romero121 is coming from with that statement, but it's definitely not true that every person who signs up at an online casino has to go through KYC verification. At least not on most of them. Usually, casinos only ask for KYC stuff when you've won a big chunk of change or when you're trying to cash out your funds.

Also, I don't think it's true that there were more decentralized platforms before, because they are still a relatively undeveloped area of the gambling industry.
1023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 01, 2023, 09:14:00 PM
As far as I have observed, most online casinos do not allow underage gambling. (In most countries of the world, you must be at least 18 years old). This is usually stated on the front page and during the registration process, when you have to confirm that you agree to the terms of use of the service. As for the specific regulations for individual countries, most casinos have a clause in the terms that each player has the responsibility to familiarize himself with the local laws and that he is obliged to act accordingly. This means that the responsibility falls on the individual, and you cannot sue them for breaking the law unless they did it knowingly.
1024  Economy / Gambling / Re: Impossible KYC Requirements - Stake.com - Withholding $6000 USD on: July 01, 2023, 07:44:07 PM
To me, op clearly broke the rule, VPN usage is something most casino heavily frown at, if this was some other casinos, by now, they probably would have closed OP's account and confiscate the fund in it, but then, I personally  I'm pleading with Stake to please tamper justice with mercy.

Yes, you are right. I completely missed that part. If he did indeed use a VPN or proxy to manipulate his real location, that would be a violation of their terms of service, and that would explain these extensive requests for detailed KYC verification. For his sake, I hope that they reach an agreement.

He wasn't told that they are investigating his VPN use case.

We can't really know that. From the OP's posts, he only shared parts of the conversation with customer support, not the whole thing. Maybe it was explained to him in the first email when he was asked for lvl3 KYC.
1025  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk own Casino complaint panel on: July 01, 2023, 07:23:42 PM
There are a few non biased people I've seen comment in the scam accusation section, but what happens if we have a panel of judges on here? Possible corruption could happen and the "judges" might be able to be bought either by the casino or by the accuser. If we could keep the corruption out of it then it might be a good idea, but I don't think it's going to happen.

And even if there are no corruptions, once that supposedly trusted members leans toward the casino, then there could be a lot of accusations on him/her and there could be members who think that he is biased.

And I guess no one is qualified here to be a so called judge, specially if they haven't been in the business itself but just a regular player or even non players per se. So this casino complaint might not work after all.

I think a group of reputable user here will solve this uncertainty. Just like a jury system, They can give a vote and provide explanation on their decision to make sure they are not bias. Being paid or bias is easy to spot since his reasoning will be not logical. Also I doubt a reputable member here will sell his reputation while he can easily earn it through signature campaign.

This idea is very hard to implement but this will be useful with the right procedure on handling cases.

Exactly! I'm glad I ain't the only one who feels this way. It's like the jury system. While it's possible for a few individuals to be biased or corrupt, it's unlikely that the majority would be. Evan in the real world, we can't be expecting a perfect legal system, but we can totally work towards it.

From what I've gathered about the folks on this forum, I'd bet there's a hefty bunch who wouldn't risk their reputation by accepting bribes or being swayed by corruption. No matter what comes their way, they seem like the type who won't budge.
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How is your Gambling Pattern Like? on: July 01, 2023, 07:04:43 PM
Same like you i also have interest in the sports gambling. They are two reason for this, first it is the love for the sports and secondly my track record on the casino games are usually not good and I think I am unlucky playing the casino games.

I don't say that all of my sports bets go in a win but majority of them do end up in a positive manner. I don't know but most people will agree that a chances of winning on sport betting are higher than the chances on winning on the traditional casino games

Yes, I agree that the chances of winning in sports betting are higher than the traditional casino games. But only if you are a sports fan and betting on the matches and events you know something about. Then your skill comes to the fore and not just luck, as is the case with casino games. Sports betting requires both, skill (knowledge) and luck.

And, when it comes to my betting and gambling success, I don't even wanna go there, honestly. I'd be stoked if I just break even, but I seriously doubt that's happening. I'm probably way in the red. But whatever, who's keeping tabs, right? As long as we're having fun, that's what really matters, isn't it?  Cheesy
1027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it true that if you bounce bitcoin back and forth to different wallets on: July 01, 2023, 02:17:05 PM
Irrespective of how bitcoin is moved around the chain, there are devices that could be used to trace transactions and i believe these are the device the government agencies uses to track bitcoin movement so as to apprehend wallets owners.

I don't understand what you are talking about. What devices? Can you elaborate on that a bit?

There are blockchain explorers and experts who who have knowledge and expertise in tracing transactions and identify patterns or connections on the blockchain, but I have never heard or read that there are any specific physical "devices" that could be used to trace transactions. Maybe you just used the wrong word?
1028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How is your Gambling Pattern Like? on: July 01, 2023, 01:46:56 PM
well, as a casual gambler, I'd say my gambling pattern is pretty moderate. I like to dabble in online sports gambling and occasionally try my luck with some casino games. I always set aside a specific portion of my income just for gambling, and I make sure I stick to that limit. Luckily, I'm not one to get addicted to gambling. I can easily go for a long period without placing any bets. So, yeah, that's my gambling style in a nutshell; moderate, responsible, and always keeping it under control.

<...>
merits and reputation which one of this is more important in the forum?.

Merit and reputation are not directly related to each other, but both are an important part of your online presence on this forum. Merits are like recognition for your positive contribution in discussions and sharing of quality information. You need them to rank your account, if that is important to you. Reputation, on the other hand, is about your trust. A good reputation means that other members trust you, or had positive experiences with you, be that as a trader or as a person. A bad reputation means that people are less likely to trust you and may be wary of dealing with you.
1030  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk; a school on its own. on: July 01, 2023, 12:58:04 PM
Bitcointalk is unlike any other platform I e found myself in and the fact that you can share ideas and different views on topics not only limited to Bitcoin is what makes the forum more appealing.

I'm surprised you say that. Have you never come across any other online forum? To me, Bitcointalk doesn't seem all that different from any other forum community, except for the signature advertising thing, which I think is only on bitcointalk.org. Online forum platforms have been around for ages and are still super popular as social media platforms. Some are all about specific topics or industries, but there are also general forums where you can chat about pretty much anything. Even Reddit started out as a simple online forum.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Predicting Sports Betting Future Trends and Technologies on: July 01, 2023, 12:34:58 PM
Your conviction in AI's role within gambling's world is well-founded, yet I offer an alternate perspective. AI brings perks, automating labor-intensive odds setting, pattern analysis, no doubt optimizing these tasks. But let's ponder: at what expense? In your narrative, this aspect is somewhat MIA. AI could automate, yes, but aren't we then booting numerous jobs off the sector? Could AI's introduction tilt the odds further in casinos' favor, compromising fair play? Also, ethical concerns mustn't be sidelined. If casinos use AI to game player behavior, aren't we breaching their privacy rights and fair game assurance? So, your argument is not without merit, but the holistic implications of AI's infiltration into gambling warrant deeper consideration.

Totally agree! AI is gonna shake things up big time in many industries, and the job market's gonna feel the impact for sure. But ya know, it ain't just a simple "AI taking over all the jobs" kinda deal. I'm actually pretty optimistic about it. 'Cause along with the disruption, AI's gonna open up new doors and create job opportunities we can't even wrap our heads around right now. It's gonna be a wild ride, but I think we'll figure it out and adapt in ways we never thought possible!

Now, when it comes to AI in gambling, who knows what's already going on behind the scenes? The gambling industry is huge, and it's no surprise they're diving into AI and machine learning. Some casinos are already getting pretty high-tech. They've got facial recognition software to catch any cheaters and keep tabs on how long folks spend on those slot machines.

So yeah, AI is definitely making its way into the gambling world. It's all part of the ongoing technological advancements we're seeing. Who knows what other stuff they'll come up with next?
1032  Economy / Gambling / Re: Impossible KYC Requirements - Stake.com - Withholding $6000 USD on: July 01, 2023, 11:00:29 AM
This is completely ridiculous, here's why.
I live in the UK and we no longer get physical bills here. I have online accounts for all the media, natural gas, electricity, everything. The only thing I get in paper form is water, but that's because the water company is small (local only for my town) and they just have like 2 people working in the office. They don't have their own servers and stuff, but in all bigger cities you'll also get that in digital form.

Them asking for a paper document has no legal grounds as you may not be getting that at all.
The same is with asking for a month old bill. I just see a balance change, they even send me a message on my phone about new bills and stuff. I don't get a "normal" bill like in the old days when you could find it in the mail, nor am I able to pay it at the post office to get a "stamp".
I would not be able to meet their KYC requirement, despite living in a "first world country".

Same here. I'm from the EU and all my utility bills are also digital. Also, I can't even remember the last time I paid a utility bill at a bank counter using hard cash. I do everything through mobile online banking services. Looking for such bills, receipts, and other "physical" evidence nowadays is ridiculous. I don't know what they are thinking.

IMO they're doing it on purpose to scam you.

I don't know what they are thinking. Maybe OP is some kind of special case and therefore they are looking for additional evidence. It would be good to read their side. Has anyone officially responded to this yet?
1033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: July 01, 2023, 10:50:30 AM
do men not like women who can make a lot of money from gambling?  of course the answers that can be generated are very diverse about it (when money is always talking in this world)
<...>

Well, you know, some dudes might not be super into the idea of a woman raking in big bucks from gambling. They could be concerned about the financial stability or the chance of getting too caught up in gambling. Others might feel a bit uneasy 'cause they think they should be the main breadwinners, you know, that whole macho thing. But hey, opinions vary, and it's all about finding a balance and understanding each other's perspectives.
1034  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Board explanation for newbies on: June 30, 2023, 09:52:21 PM
Board explanations are already available when you visit the front page of the forum. I believe that everything is already explained sufficiently, and no additional instructions are necessary for newcomers. All one needs to do is employ logic. For instance, when reading the title of the board "Bitcoin Discussion," what further explanation is required? Moreover, a detailed description is provided below: "General discussion about the Bitcoin ecosystem that doesn't fit better elsewhere. News, the Bitcoin community, innovations, the general environment, etc. Discussion of specific Bitcoin-related services usually belongs in other sections." In your opinion, what else do you think should be included there?
1035  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk own Casino complaint panel on: June 30, 2023, 08:44:36 PM
I think it could actually be interesting, and possibly useful for the gambling community on the forum. Creating a group of trusted users who can act as mediators to look into cases involving valid evidence could help address disputes more efficiently and fairly. Having respectable members who are capable of handling such situations can provide a valuable resource for resolving conflicts and maintaining a sense of trust within the community. I have already thought of several highly respectable members who would fit the criteria. And I'm sure most here would agree that they would be objective and unbiased in their judgment because they've already proven that countless times before.
1036  Economy / Reputation / Re: 'John Abraham ≈ naim027' Coincidence or Connection? on: June 29, 2023, 09:11:45 PM
I just noticed that the alt account of 'naim027' (Crypt0S0ul)  has given 16 merits to StarBets casino representative account on 9th April. There will be nothing to surprise if the account of StarBets is operated by naim027 now.

Yep, you got it. The StarBets account is also run by naim027, and I knew about this connection beforehand. I never spilled the beans on it because the StarBets account is only active in their own thread, and naim027 is still allowed to hang out on the forum. So, there is no ban evading at the moment.

I found some evidence to back this up in the screenshots he shared. I'm pretty sure I wrote down that info somewhere. If we need it, I'll dig it up and verify it if necessary.
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: June 29, 2023, 07:50:00 PM
Women tend to not gamble because they always think gambling is bad and only wasting money, but if there's women want to gamble, they're mostly an addicts. So women only have 2 side, either they're completely not gamble their money and they're gamble a lot. Only few women can control themselves and not playing victim.

I don't think it is accurate or fair to claim that all women either completely avoid gambling or become addicts. Do you have any stats or sources to back this up? Or is that just your personal opinion?

While males mostly know how to control themselves, that's why you need to be careful if you have a female friend and she's a gambler.

It seems like a bunch of folks here are throwing around some seriously stereotypical views about women and gambling, and it's coming off as pretty sexist, to be honest. I can't help but wonder if this mindset has something to do with cultural or religious influences.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: June 29, 2023, 12:08:30 AM
Men lose a lot more money betting sports because they can find places to bet on credit.

What kind of statement is that? I mean, it's not just men who have the ability to find places to bet on credit. Women have the same opportunities too, at least in the liberal western world. There shouldn't be any discriminatory positions when it comes to gambling based on gender. However, I can't say for sure how things are in countries where religious beliefs heavily influence what's considered acceptable or not.
1039  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🐺 wild.io 🎰 Wheel of Fortune 🎁 Daily Rewards 🔥 10 Minutes Cashouts on: June 28, 2023, 07:14:42 PM
Curacao fake licensed casinos do not have a regulator!

The wildcasino scam is a good example for no regulation in Curacao.

We all have our own way of checking out casino licenses and deciding where we want to gamble, right? If Curacao licenses don't float your boat, have you thought about casinos that don't have any license at all? Just something to think about, but no pressure! It's more of a rhetorical question.

But, I'm curious, is that why you decide to bump their topic? Are you trying to give them some free promotion or something? Just wondering!
1040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ads for online gambling should be banned. on: June 28, 2023, 06:59:11 PM
From what I understand, this forum isn't really about promoting online casinos, but more about the users and their discussions. So, even if Australia decides to pass a law like that, it shouldn't really affect this platform. I mean, what can the administrators really do? Start tracking where every visitor is coming from and disable user signatures for those from Australia? That sounds like it would totally go against the freedom of speech that this forum values. So, yeah, I don't think you have much to worry about. Just keep enjoying the discussions!
