1101  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Technobit HEX8A1 - 6/8 chip Coincraft A1 board -999 EUR March delivery on: February 13, 2014, 09:15:15 AM
This time i am very satisfied with speedy  Smiley
The parcel already cleared from custom. I just call DHL office & they said they will deliver the parcel tomorrow  Grin
Congrats Zich:)

Thanks loshia  Grin
Going to prepare new PSU tonight  Cheesy

Some hints for you Zih (and for the rest waiting for their boards to arrive).
1. Set you pool hex8 worker to mine at predefined diff 256 or 512 - will give you les rejects about 0.15% Smiley. The key point is to avoid adjusting your diff to often. The higher the better Smiley
2. Set diff-to-one 1 -   watch it closely HW error % and find your sweet spot in terms of clock and voltage
3. Set diff-to-one 0 - default value for a production run - which will give you less HW% and big speed variation, BUT you gonna have x diff less USB reads Wink better usb communication. You are not loosing/gainig Hashrate. you are just suffering from variation. Probably you are getting very small amount on top because of reduced USB reads which are deducing USB CRC errors
4. Wait for a day and post nice looking screen shot Cheesy
5. If you are inpatient and do not want to wait use diff-to-one 1 Smiley It is ok even for production run Wink
6. And post again Smiley
7. Finlay when you are done ssh/screen disable logging --quiet

Thanks loshia Smiley, this is what i need.
I will follow your way by setting at lower frequency & voltage then let it run for 24 Hour before push it to 260  Cheesy

Did you see the BitMine A1 1GH/W @ 200GH Video?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91MuwGOgRFo

Are these the same batch of A1 chips we got, or are they a later more efficient batch?

Just wondering if my Hex8A1 will run 1GH/W @ 200GH or if later batches of Hex8A1 will be more efficient?

Hex8A1s not arrived yet so still in speculating mode.  Roll Eyes

UPDATE: Oh, I see they use 12x A1 chips per board to get 200GH/200W so not going to be that good with 8x. Aww. 17.5GH a chip.

17.5GH x 8 = 140GH @ 1GH/1W I estimate on the Hex8A1.

Thanks for the link  Grin

1105  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Technobit HEX16A2 - 16 chip Avalon Gen2 board on: February 13, 2014, 01:57:02 AM
My 24 GH/s HEX16A2 fully Assembled bitcoin miner (chips included) (Order No. CVMKAARFU) is not making half the hash rate, which should be reached (over clocked). What went wrong?

Quote
HEXc 0: 1500 1100/1103mV | 11.00G/11.17Gh/s | A:1120 R:0 HW:21/2.05% WU:156.0/m

With HexMiner 1.0.0.3 and this settings I also got a hash rate of a well over clocked 7 GH/s HEX16A miner... (avg ~8.78 Gh/s) That's extremely disappointing!
All 16 chips get warm/hot and seem to be soldered well, the PSU is okay and I'm not using any router hardware with a web interface or any helpful "cgminer-api".

Are there any schematics available? Does anyone have another idea or (much better) a solution for my issue?

HEX16A can not OC that high. Unfortunately cgminer-api command only work on TPLINK TL-MR3020. I suggest you buy one on your local computer shop & flash it with latest image from technobit. It's pretty cheap.
Then using cgminer-api we can determine whenever there is dead chip or not.

The schematic available in opening page of this thread Smiley

1106  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Technobit HEX16A2 - 16 chip Avalon Gen2 board on: February 12, 2014, 06:53:30 AM

The chip will hash at slower speed or not hash at all if too low or too high.
Sometimes i accidentally  set the frequency to 150  Roll Eyes after flash new image to TL-MR3020

I know... but with --hexminerc-options 16:1500 the hash rate is still too low (~10GH/s)! Sad

How should the chips be labeled? Perhaps I got the right Board (dmesg says so) with the wrong chips...

That not possible. What is your PSU & how many board connected to the PSU?

Hi,

I see that you set a little low frequency while run command:
Code:
--hexminerc-options 16:1000

The right command is:
Code:
--hexminerc-options 16:1500

Though i find it weird that your cgminer show frequency set at 1500  Roll Eyes

Ups... that was my fault. I checked, what happened on a lower frequency and a lower voltage.

The chip will hash at slower speed or not hash at all if too low or too high.

4) I've a rapsberry never used with his small power adapter. Can I try (how?Huh) to configure it and try?

Thanks to all for your precious support!

Since you already own raspi, then it would be a waste to not use it.
The following guide is based on raspbian wheezy so please reinstall in case not wheezy

Code:
1. sudo aptitude update
2. sudo aptitude upgrade
3. sudo aptitude install libudev-dev libusb-1.0-0-dev libfox-1.6-dev
4. sudo aptitude install autotools-dev autoconf automake
5. sudo aptitude install libtool libncurses-dev yasm
6. sudo aptitude install curl libcurl4-openssl-dev libjansson-dev screen
7. sudo aptitude install pkg-config uthash-dev make git-core

Then download cgminer 3.12.3
Code:
1. git clone https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer.git
2. mv cgminer cgminer-3.12.3
3. cd cgminer-3.12.3
4. git checkout e447b697d90c4d1e4c6a2dc8bd9bfc3eab23115f
5. wget https://www.dropbox.com/s/hfx7l4hz5ywgw3x/e447b697d90c4d1e4c6a2dc8bd9bfc3eab23115f.patch
6. patch -p1 < e447b697d90c4d1e4c6a2dc8bd9bfc3eab23115f.patch
7. ./autogen.sh --enable-hexminera --enable-hexminerc --enable-hexminerb --enable-hexmineru --enable-hexminer8
8. make

Step 5 is patch uploaded to dropbox by myself, so you can use your own that downloaded from technobit download page if you want  Wink
Make sure there is no error message on each step.

No need to install, you can run cgminer from folder.
Code:
1. screen
2. sudo ./cgminer --hexminerb-voltage 900 --hexminerb-options 16:540

1109  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Technobit HEX16A2 - 16 chip Avalon Gen2 board on: February 12, 2014, 12:11:15 AM
I've no cgminer-API extra, but it seems that only one row is active. After restarting cgminer (with --api-listen) is showing me
Quote
HEXc 0: 1500 1100/1100mV | OFF   / 0.000h/s | A:  0 R:0 HW:0/0.00% WU:  0.0/m
HEXc 1: 1500 1100/1103mV | 10.64G/9.760Gh/s | A:448 R:0 HW:8/1.99% WU:136.4/m

I'm starting with --hexminerc-options 16:1000 --hexminerc-voltage 1100 --set_default_to_c --api-listen do I need to add something to activate the second HEXc?

Edit: The secondary HEXc disappeared again... :-(

Hi, did you use same PSU from your PC to powered the miner or another PSU?

Hi Zich,
another one.

Also PC audio in/out is KO
Mistake!
Do not do that ..Take 12V from PC same PSU

How? putting out a molex? this is a compact desktop; it is not possible
do you think miner burnt my pc i/o ?

Ouchh, we thought you use normal desktop PC. Then you can not use that compact desktop to mine.
If after disconnect the miner, your PC still freeze then some component already burn.

Why ?
Is there a reason to use the same PSU ? What can i do if i use a raspi as computer ?

Ground reference problem. If using raspi, then get 5 V supply from same PSU that supply the miner.
You need to do some cut, cut, cut  Cheesy

I have a problem with hex16b, probably someone can help me.
I've connected my hex16b to usb port on my pc and in that moment mouse and keyboard (both usb) starts to freeze and become unusable.
I Power off pc, remove Power cord, wait some mins and restart without hex16b plugged.
Keyboard and mouse remains unusable cause freeze every 3/4 seconds. I plug in other keyboard and mouses but have the same result.
Could be possible that miner burnt my usb ports?
With a stripped usb cable I check that from hex16b usb port come out 1.33 volts... it is normal???
Thanks to anyone, especially to Marto if he can answer me.

New image for TL-MR3020 + cgminer 3.12.3 patch 0.2.0 Milestone release

Do I need to reset the TL-MR3020 back to factory settings for it to install?
If so how, do I do that?

Thanks.

No need to reset, just browse the new image & hit flash  Grin
But i usually use factory bin, i am prefer "fresh install"  Cheesy

Marto are the 30x pre-production units ready to ship on Monday 10th Feb?

I've got 2 in that batch. Hoping no delays this time!

If you put them in the same box you can keep the extra shipping fee for getting them out on time! Cheesy

I guess marto can not do this since paypal will asking for shipping proof for each payment

I paid with BitPay. I'm a true believer in the currency, read my sig! Wink

Cheesy I thought you pay with paypal. My fault, sorry  Grin
1120  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Technobit HEX16A2 - 16 chip Avalon Gen2 board on: February 10, 2014, 02:53:40 PM
Just for your information, when technobit send their first batch of HEX16A, my board stuck on speedy office for more than 3 week because marto issue full prices invoice. Speedy demand marto to issue low prices invoices(Proforma Invoices).
The 10 USD per board is my suggestion  Cool

My second order HEX16C use UPS as carrier & i didn't find any invoices but marto declares the miner as SAMPLES Grin And again no import tax  Cool
Since the miner come with no case, then there is no problem declaring it as SAMPLES(which should be free)  Cheesy

Low prices = No import TAX = Quick custom clear

As I said German customs can be really tough. Recently I had a case where I had to get to the tax office and prove to them that usb miners were worth what was on the import tax statement. I could not prove it because it was rediculous low. So I had to pay important taxes plus 100+ euro fine for cheating on import tax.
gkahr78,

If you are a German or EU member you should not worry at all, because this is treated as domestic shipment inside EU Wink. That might be an issue for EU to None EU shipment though

Or non EU to EU  Cheesy
