Chinese pumping so many coins currently, things could get really interesting.
1102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Chinese pumping dead coins! on: January 27, 2016, 08:28:00 PM
Does anyone know if earthcoin is another possible chinese pump?

The volume of earthcoin, Ybcoin, and stabilityshares is almost identical. (Over $1.9 million)

Does CMC use BTC38 as a source for information?

There is alot of speculation that some of these chinese exchanges are fraudluent and posting incorrect data on volumes etc to pump up price.

If so, CMC should remove such exchanges.

Its good to see its rising, i just wish i could get delegated harvesting going again, now when i want to start delegated harvesting i get error  306.

Anyone know what the issue is?
1104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: January 26, 2016, 05:20:17 AM
Hello friends,

At this point, would someone care to elaborate on the best case scenario for the usage and adaption of NEM (XEM).   I am not a technical person but am interested in speculating on the events that might increase the valuation of my XEM stake in the future.

Best regards.

Best case scenario is Makoto becomes prime minister of Japan and replaces the YEN with XEM ...  Grin

It's kind of hard to speculate would could/couldn't happen.

Cross the two of them and they would become YEM!  Grin

Stabilityshares almost hitting 40c!
1106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Chinese pumping dead coins! on: January 26, 2016, 12:34:48 AM
If i knew that stabilityshares would do what it has now i would never have sold them, i literally dumped the lot because it wasd about to be removed from the exchange.

Its unbelievable how the chinese are pumping this crap, i could have done well from it.
1107  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the Future of Bitcoin ? on: January 25, 2016, 09:26:44 PM
Frankly, with Bitcoin Classic's secession, the worst can happen, so I'm not sure of how could be tomorrow Undecided...

If bitcoin classic has taken over, i thought it would have only improved it?

Either way, i still only think its a tempoary fix with the block size.
1108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Chinese pumping dead coins! on: January 25, 2016, 10:37:00 AM
Guys, guys, chill out, it's not about chinese "investors" or great coin features. Chinese PDers often pumping dead or almost dead coins. They can buy these coins for peanuts and after a silent accumulation period thy can pump it to orbital heights, maybe together with some hype or announcing new devs, whatever.

Apart from the hype potential these guys don't give "a rats ass about" functionality of ETH or LTC, or whatever other coins. They are after good opportunities to make a decent profit and that's all. Don't be naive and think about them as investors. They are gamblers with shitloads of money what they want to multiply.

Im sure there are alot out there trying to scam people for sure, i dont know what must go down on their chinese versions of bitcointalk, but i expect your right on whats going on.
1109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Chinese pumping dead coins! on: January 25, 2016, 06:09:48 AM
Is anyone else curious to see coins like Stability Shares (XSI) bump up on CMC to astronomical levels?

I held Stabilityshares for some time to the point it was worthless after the devs abandoned it for a second time.

Its unclear if chinese devs have taken over the project, but why do they choose to pump such dead coins ill never know.

I dumped mine after the first pump when they were at an all time high of 2c each.

Now they are all of a sudden 12c each!

Only problem is i could not sell them at this price if i had kept them, unless i could read chinese, as all these chinese exchanges are not in english! lol

Anyway the coin was removed from one of the last major "western" exchanges only the other week due to low volume.

Seems rather odd what is going on, but apparently its big news over in china! lol

YbCoin seems to be another coin that little is known about and look at the pump there.

Keen to know if others have a better idea on what is going on in china.

Seems they are all desperate to get their hands on any crypto they can.

Why don't people that are having problems with NCC (mostly problems that have  been explained/solved 100 times over by the way...no offense) just use the standalone lightwallet ? That's exactly why they made it. NCC has a shitty UX. The lightwallet literally couldn't be any simpler. You don't even need Java installed.

http://bob.nem.ninja/lightwallet-standalone-1.1b-cdn-nginx1.8.zip

It's a really early version but it works good enough.

My wallet has been working 100% fine since day 1 until the last week when all sorts of crap has happened for no reason.

Yes i should ask on the nem forums but havnt registered yet and im sick of signing up to countless forums for all the coins i hold etc, but NEM is one forum i should register on.

Anyway, i havnt seen anyone else reporting my issue, but i will ask on the nem forums if i will get more help there.

Ive also been concerned about security with the light wallet as mentioned here, so i would rather just use NCC if possible.

Dont know whats so shitty with NCC, its been absolutley great for me (until now! lol)

Im also interested in hosting a node, since im in New Zealand, it would be great to have some nodes running down here Smiley

What is your problem?

I posted my problem on the previous page but basically now i cant get into my wallet, it says at the top of my browser in a red bar that NIS is not running, even when the tray icon menu says it is.

Ive uninstalled, reinstalled, still the same.

Any chance you used a remote NIS before and that one is down now ? There is really no other reason for that to be happening if your local NIS is really running.

You mean delegated harvesting?
I was delegated harvesting on a remote node.
Ive tried booting a local node but it doesnt save the changes.

I don't mean delegated harvesting. I mean having a remote node configured in the settings. When you do that - e.g. when you want to harvest on a remote node but not exclusively then - you also get all the information about the blockchain from that node. If that node is then no longer online/not reachable for whatever reason you get the exact problem you're having right now.

Configure localhost or 127.0.0.1 as node in the settings and you'll be good Wink

OK, im lost here, as i thought that the only reason for using a remote node was for delegated harvesting.
Ive had such nodes go down before and ive never had this issue, ive just always gone and changed the remote server and harvesting would start again, and all this time i was still able to login into NCC.

Anyway, ive changed the remote server to 127.0.0.1 and now it appears to login, But i now get the message at the top "NIS needs to be booted. Please open your wallet and boot a local node via the popup dialog or configure the auto-boot setting. (at block 159180)"

This is weird, since NIS is indeed booted.

Ive never had this trouble before, and my blockchain had always been syncing all this time anyway.

Just weird that trying all the servers listed would not let me in, but ill try another server and see if it works now after this Smiley
1111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XSI]StabilityShares-NEW PotCoin Partnership! on: January 24, 2016, 07:57:16 PM
WTF is up with this coin???

over $200K in volume and price at 12c!!!!?Huh

Seems to be pumped on a chinese exchange, but thats alot of money to throw at it!

There is no development even happening and has been removed from so many exchanges.

I dumped mine at 2 cents and thought that was a good deal! lol

I too used to hold some XSI in the past. Now I regret that I sold them for so cheap.

Only currently tradeable on chinese exchanges now i see though.

I think its just a chinese pump.

- for those, who want not only to buy, but also to trade their IOTAs, I've created the IOTA Gateway ... Asset ID: 6142450902338776418 ...
Sounds great, but how is this possible if IOTA has not launched yet?
- yes, it is possible only after the IOTA launch.

I cant find that asset or ID on the AE anyway.
- that number - 6142450902338776418 - is clickable.

Thanks for that.

As it turns out ive had issues with my NXT wallet and the blockchain was not syncing properly even though it said it had.

1117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DASH Collapsing Monero UP on: January 24, 2016, 02:24:32 AM
After learning that all my mined monero coins are practically unspendable because the pool paid me out in small amounts says alot about monero!

Its total crap if they cant design it to work with small amounts properly, never had this issue with BTC, NXT< NEM etc.

That problem was fixed almost two years ago.

It sucks that your coins got stuck in that manner but that's not an issue with the coin today.

Thats good to know its been fixed, i was only told that the pools stopped making micro transactions to miners as a workaround.
1118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Crowdsale on: January 23, 2016, 10:07:53 PM
If you guys want to start trading IOTA on the Nxt decentralized asset exchange, you can.
I just created an asset, more details here :
[ANN] IOTA asset 10966270007977442520
Great Initiative from you. This helps both: Nxt and IOTA. The asset exchange is really the Crown Jewel of Nxt.

- for those, who want not only to buy, but also to trade their IOTAs, I've created the IOTA Gateway at the Nxt decentralized Asset Exchange (AE).

IOTA Gateway address: WZRQXFMSWCXEMIFYJTFLPC9KEQBITRMGHVUWNFHWLCJABDZEFDXWYLQAJIHZMALZLMQDNXQYAANDNAX ME

Asset Name: 1000IOTAs

Asset ID: 6142450902338776418

Each one asset represents 1000 (one thousand) IOTA coins.

To buy some IOTA coins (1000IOTAs assets) just click one of public Nxt nodes:
https://nxtx.ru:7876/              https://nxt.miasik.tk:7876/        https://162.243.145.83:7876/
http://91.235.72.49:7876/          http://nsc.nxt.org:7876/           http://69.163.40.132/:7876/
http://213.46.57.77:7876/          http://abctc.vps.nxtcrypto.org:7876/

and enter 6142450902338776418 (1000IOTAs asset ID) at "Asset Exchange".

To sell your IOTA coins at Asset Exchange, you should do basically the same steps as with centralised exchange:

1] Deposit (send) your IOTA coins to Gateway address WZRQXFMSWCXEMIFYJTFLPC9KEQBITRMGHVUWNFHWLCJABDZEFDXWYLQAJIHZMALZLMQDNXQYAANDNAX ME, and in the same iota-bundle send a 0-value transaction (as explained here) with message  containing your Nxt account. In return you'll get 1000IOTAs asset.
(also I'll send 5 NXT along with a 1000IOTAs assets to depositors who do not have any NXT, so that they will be able to place orders and pay 1 NXT network commission)

2] Place sell order with your brand-new 1000IOTAs asset at Nxt Asset Exchange (at Nxt public node go to "Asset Exchange");

3] When someone buys your 1000IOTAs asset, you get NXT coins according to your price.

To guarantee smooth withdrawals, the amount of the 1000IOTAs assets in circulation will always be less than the balance of the IOTA Gateway address (WZRQXFMSWCXEMIFYJTFLPC9KEQBITRMGHVUWNFHWLCJABDZEFDXWYLQAJIHZMALZLMQDNXQYAANDNAX ME).
No sell orders from the issuing account (NXT-TQM8-APW7-4HMK-8N97Q) will be placed.

To withdraw your 1000IOTAs assets (to convert them to IOTA coins) you should transfer your assets to the issuing account (NXT-TQM8-APW7-4HMK-8N97Q) with your IOTA address in the embedded message.

Deposit/Withdrawal time: 12 hours max., usually much faster.

Fees: 1% Deposits, 1% Withdrawals (subject to change).

Amount of IOTA coins to deposit: 1000 IOTA minimum.

Amount of 1000IOTAs assets to withdraw: 1 (one) asset minimum.

You can get some NXT for fiat at instant automated exchange https://coinomat.com/ , or at such exchanges as CCEDK, https://poloniex.com/ ,  https://hitbtc.com/ , http://www.btc38.com/.

Happy IOTA trading!

For those who do not know: the trading at decentralized Asset Exchange is safe and trustless, because the trade occurs in a single transaction.
And Asset Exchange cannot be suspended (like DGex) or hacked (like BTer), or collapsed (like cryptsy).

The only threat is that the issuer can refuse to withdraw. But I will not, please check my profiles at bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=147961) and nxtforum (https://nxtforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=15).

Sounds great, but how is this possible if IOTA has not launched yet?

I cant find that asset or ID on the AE anyway.

Ive been having nothing but trouble with my wallet for the last week or so.

Now i cant get into NCC, when i try and login to my wallet, it says NIS is not available, even though it says it is running on the tray icon.

Turning off antivirus and firewall makes no difference.
