I just noticed UnobtaniumBot on Twitter tweeting out the Cryptsy price of $UNO every hour or so. This is not me. Do you know anything about it? https://twitter.com/unobtaniumbotI'm not complaining, just curious.

Last I checked, .001 of something is still worth more than 100% of nothing.
Uno was designed to be a rapidly supplied coin, with most Uno being produced in the first three years of mining, and there after the remaining 50k Un to be produced over three centuries. What the value will be long after we are all dead, we can speculate wildly if we wish, and I personally think its fun to do that.
There are a few viable experiments in altcoin inflation underway in cryptocurrency, and Uno is one of them that I find most interesting.
IXCoin, for instance, was rapidly mined and provides zero rewards today, and virtually zero transaction fees and no consideration for miners (I have never earned a single sat merge mining IXC on mmpool.org).
The Uno reward schedule is what it is, and so is the value on any particular day. But the math also says that Uno will be paying out 175 years longer than bitcoin. Lets meet here in 300 years to debate if what happened was worthwhile or not.

It is a shame. I used to trust Cryptsy a lot, now wouldn't touch to them with a 10 foot cattle prod.
Even if they sent everyone their coins today, the damage is so bad now they will never recover from this. No exchange has issues like this, for 3+ months, unless they are outta bitcoin.

Have a little time on your hands over the holidays? Try making a cool Uno vanity address with your Windows or Linux computer. With a little patience you can customize the first 6 or 7 characters of the address. The addy must begin with u of course, but give it a little thought and assign something meaningful to it. ukraine, unicorn, urcool, uuuuuuu Get the software from Cryptapus https://cryptap.us/uno/vanity.html

@ethought and @edgar, good to see you guys. Happy New Year. @bhokor because Unobtanium is an open source community, we would welcome your ideas and assistance. How did you find us, by the way? Uno is rare in lots of ways, including being of the true fair decentralized coins with no pre-mine. Its a blessing in that there is no single person who can run off with the coin. It's a bit of a curse in that we don't have a pre-mine to fund marketing. I like that Uno is a community effort. If any one of us gets hit by a bus tomorrow, Uno goes on. Uno is not dependent on any one person to do something, spend something, promise something, deliver something. It's as pure as it comes in crypto. On another note... Looks like Bittrex market has some legs, finally. Its surpassed cryptsy in volume.

Ok, these are historic times for Uno. We have not seen anything quite the scale of the Cryptsy problem, which is building by the day/hour.
Its looking bad for the ppl stuck on cryptsy. If your goal is to accumulate Uno, I don't think you will ever have had a better opportunity to catch deep sells. If ur trying to get out of Uno, this s a bad time. Imo, we could see 002's soon until this cryptsy situation becomes clear. I really think this is an artificially low price brought on my the cryptsy panic, and it might get worse.
Get in position to do whatever it is that your greed or generosity tells you to do. Here are a few possible scenarios:
1. If cryptsy's assets are frozen by a judge in the pending lawsuit against them, that's one scenario and might delay deeper dumps. 2. If cryptsy goes away slow and people are free to exit with Uno, that could accelerate dumping 3. If 20k Uno are stolen and dumped on the market over time, that will have a different effect altogether. 4. If cryptsy gets their act together and fixes all the problems, could eventually stabilize the situation. Any other situation worth considering?
I am anticipating situation #2. When Uno survives this, it will be another interesting chapter in its history.
This could very well be the Altpocalypse for hundreds of shitcoins. Uno will survive it. Our mining power (no longer subject to exchange price), reliable alternative exchange markets (Bittrex & cryptopia), and strong long term community holders will help keep it together until the dust settles. There will be less noise and more air in the room after we clean out hundreds of alts that have been dead for a long time on cryptsy.

Interesting article, especially useful to those who need a primer on Bitcoin's block halving structure and what that might mean for the future. I was unaware that 100 nanometer miners were so close. A core idea is that Bitcoin mining will become distributed to consumers and happen at a loss, in return for some other useful service (perhaps heat). Here's a site that counts down the days to the next Bitcoin halving: http://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/Since Uno moves off a Petahash slice of Bitcoin's mining power, we will of course watch what happens. If I do my math right, unless it's forked in the future Bitcoin's block reward will reach absolute zero at block 6930000, in about 125 years (give or take a decade). At block 6.93M, there will be zero rewards per block, not even 1 satoshi. So I guess Uno will have to carry Bitcoin for the next 175 years beyond that. (of course, btc transactions fees will carry the day for miners, so I am joking a bit here. But if Bitcoin fails to achieve wider adoption, merge mining rewards from alts like Unobtanium could play a more important role for miners in the future. Uno will continue to pay miners for the next 300 years).

Learminer updated unobtanium.uno and removed coins-e and coinbroker exchanges for failing to complete deposits.
Thanks, Learminer!

Don't forget the great Uno services that Cryptapus provides at https://cryptap.us/uno/Uno fans will find lots of cool stuff there, from games to wallets. Check it out. If you haven't played the games in a while, give them a spin and let Cryptapus know that we really appreciate all he does for the Uno Community.

To all others, if there's nothing better going on in your life, feel free to manually plod through the list and post here the exchanges you find that are dead/dying. I only have time every few months, so help is alway appreciated.
Any college students in CS need a project? How about a python script to go through the list automatically and log any dead exchanges. If you're really good, it could creat an image of the exchange's front page and send it to imgur. Then we could really keep an eye on what's going without a human having to manually visit 100+ links.
I do not own this list. It's public domain so do what you will with it.

Trying to setup a new account to switch payments away from cryptsy wallets, but not able to do so. Submitting the reg form gives a connection error.
Also wondering about being able to withdraw NMC.

Here's part of an e-mail from Oct. 28, 2015 re: Coins-e Exchange UNO wallet deposits/withdrawals Saul A < hi@coins-e.com> "Hey Craig - we have an issue with the UNO wallets. Corrupted dat file - luckily it's not too much as a payout. I'll have to pay you out in BTC if thats ok? Give me until Friday and I will have the withdrawal processed. Apologies for the long and stressful wait" CS Thanks for the coins-e experience info. It's been over 24 hours with no response. I sent another support ticket. I'm guessing those 10 UNO have vanished into electron Heaven...oh well, I guess ten less UNO makes the remainder even more scarce! Same with Coinbroker.io. I will ask Learminer to remove both exchanges from Unobtanium.uno. I have already removed them from the OP. Has anyone tried bitebi9.com yet? Can coins go in and out there? By the way, here is an odd bit of information for you. If you type "bitebi9.com" into Cryptsy's chat box, it is always automatically changed to "bitebi5.com." The 9 always changes to a 5. Update: I created a Bitebi9 account. It failed to generate a Uno deposit address. Be very careful with this exchange. It is obviously a 100% cryptsy clone.
