Congrats, DUO supporters on getting on Cryptopia! This was and is a cool coin. Good it see it brought back to life by the community.

I'll look forward to trading DUO in the UNO market. Smiley

Nice concepts, Blueman!

For the record, CaptChadd and I had some frank discusions before he chose to support Uno. He was very upfront about past issues; as is often the case in crypto, there are extenuating circumstances. Accusations are easy to make, hard to refute.  I vetted him for myself before asking him to consider helping Uno. I have no forward looking concerns. We're lucky to have his interest in Uno.

Devs:  yes. that. is. of concern.  [actions speak louder than words]   John D. Died for You Society, there is hope, and possibly kilos in bounty for your return as Lead Dev.  Capt. Chadd, there is hope, that the past is the past and that is done by action, show us.  Cogburn, ha, proof of work, as ye said long ago.  Ye are still short a few inches, but, POW we have MM.   Others, keep up the good work there is lots of talent in the community, don't be shy to show off.  Back to Capt. Chadd be that, unotard thread needs a vocal and present dev. There is a void, O Captain, to be filled.

Very well. I thank IMZ, craigv, and all you others for the fun. I have no other interest in this coin or thread.
@Siameze, I have enjoyed and appreciated yuor participation.  You're always welcome here.

Blazr2 here; my old account is no longer accessible but I am still lurking. Working on putting the visual bits back in 0.10 now, you'll have your kg/Un and the QR codes working soon. A preliminary status pull is available here for those who don't want to wait:

https://github.com/thegreatoldone/Unobtanium

Working on some GUI builds to test and then will push it to Unobtanium-official for Bryce to merge.

Cheers, you've all done an amazing job of which I take little credit, but I'm glad to still be attached in some small way. Glad to see Dave involved! If any of ye feel like sending a few grams my way, please do: uVjbsx6tAhySeJpN7xLBieAzWcD7rEVmYp
HagbardCeline/Blazr2, so good to have you back!! Thanks for the updates.

1446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Dedicated Android Wallet for UNO on: June 19, 2015, 04:55:07 PM

...

I tried to send to my Uno Core wallet and scanned the QR code. The problem is that the Core wallet sends back:  "bitcoin:u<address>" and the result is that the Android wallet can't recognize the input. Since it's such a PITA to type a Uno addy using an android screen keyboard, is there any chance the Android wallet could just remove that "bitcoin:" from the front of the address (if it exists).  That will give us a little time to resolve it on the Core wallet side.

...

Actually that's a bug in the QT wallet, BW needs to fix that. I ran into that with jswallet, and I made jswallet use the correct "unobtanium:uxxxx" format as well. Hash is correct here. I'm guessing that's a simple line in the QT source, if I had more time I'd do a pull request myself...
Yes, I know it needs to be addressed the core wallet. I've mentioned it.  But it would be an immediate benefit to everyone if Hash could find their way to write a short function to just test the address string and if it begins with "bitcoin:", simply remove it from the string.  I sense that could save us all weeks of manually pounding in long addresses with fat fingers.
1447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: v10 fork only? on: June 19, 2015, 03:55:56 PM
I've submitted a pull request to disconnect any client older than v10. Can someone please notify BW and ask for feedback?

Feel free to join the discussion here:

Will do!

Thanks everyone for your generosity!

Who wants to beta test? HashEngineering via PM:

I have it running. The network monitor shows I am connected to ispace.co.uk and downloading blocks.

I strongly suggest nobody send more than tiny fractional amounts of Un to the wallet while it's being tested. Back up your wallet immediately.

First impressions: very cool! This is going to be great.

When it first loads, give it some time to get rockchain and exchange info. Find the Network monitor if you want to see the status of the chain and connections. It's not immediately obvious there's something going on. Don't be impatient.

Quick feedback:
I received Uno to my Android wallet! Success!

I think the community would prefer the blue Uno logo. Though I'm fine with yellow, blue seems to be the general consensus. Maybe too late?
I'm only finding one peer so far after being connected 30 mins.
Doge/Litecoin/NXT, are not listed in the exchange rates.
Bitcoin price from Bitcoinaverage.com isn't coming up either.

Overall, very impressive for a beta! We are going to like this! Smiley

A little perspective about where Uno has been.
Almost a year ago, you had a chance to buy some at .00125.

(FK:  I don't know how to get cryptsy to float a NXT/UNO trading pair:  can you tell me how or do it yourself?)

At one time I looked into creating a NXT asset that would have been backed by my 400 frozen Mintpal Uno. Glad I didn't actually do that, since by a miracle I got my Uno back from Ferdous Bhai. Such assets can be created in about 1 minute in NXT (and Counterparty and Bitshares, etc) and traded in the markets that reside within those ecosystems. In the case of NXT, there is a whole other corner of crypto that trades and tracks those assets, people who probably know nothing about Uno.  While a direct Uno/Nxt trade pair seems unlikely on Cryptsy, it could eventually land on Cryptopia.  But yes, I could show you how to setup a UNO asset on NXT which would effectively enable you to swap the value between the Uno Asset and NXT in the NXT market. People just need to believe that the UNO asset is safely backed by Uno.
1451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: June 18, 2015, 02:41:52 AM
Alt markets rarely create a large change in volume. NXT/UNO, LTC/UNO w.e. it wouldn't make 10% of the volume that CNY/UNO would.

XRP/UNO and DOGE/UNO currently have $3 of volume compared to $1,572 of BTC/UNO volume.

I'm not saying alt/pairings are bad, I like them, but focus on a Chinese Yuan pairing or USD pairing before anything.

Surely if cryptsy somehow is still pairing USD/XPY and USD/RDD they would eventually pair a proven price performer as UNO.
We have a USD market at Bleutrade. Anyone interested in trading Uno for USD and helping Uno in the process should help make a market there.  Someone has to go first. I make a lot of Uno markets but I can't make them all. Even if we were just trading $50 a day there in Uno, it would send a good signal to Cryptsy and validate early interest.

One can argue that if nobody is trading a pair, then there is no interest. One can also argue that if there's nothing to trade then a market can never take hold.  I'm just suggesting that before we can play baseball (or futbol), we need to have a place to play first.

I setup a market today for XPD/UNO on Cryptopia.  Is it going to be huge? Probably not and if you don't like XPD then just stay away. But if you already own some XPD (like me) and you have Uno (like me), then what the hell.  It's a very small corner of the Uno world, and even smaller corner of the cryptoworld, but it's there now, and anyone who wants to play it now can.  It's also a small way that I can say thanks to Cryptopia for the opportunity they've given us to do some new things with Uno.

Having a wider Uno presence is generally a good thing, I think. Trading alt pairs in Uno is an invitation to learn about Uno. It makes people ask, "What is this Uno thing?". I don't think an XPD/UNO, FLAX/UNO or CHAO/UNO market takes anything away from any of the other efforts that are going on here. It's a positive thing to see Uno as a base currency on Cryptopia, imo.    But do we stop there?  Hell, no.  China or bust!

I don't particularly want CNY, but I'd trade it to help Uno get started in China.

Re: Hash Engineering. I'm trust them completely to deliver the Android wallet.

Congrats! Good to see XPD traded again. Get your coins out there.

Remember that there is now a XPD/UNO pairing on Cryptopia. That would be a great place to put your XPD on the market. Smiley

I don't see a XPD/UNO pairing anywhere...  Huh
That's ok.  Trading it is a choice.
1453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: June 17, 2015, 07:05:47 PM
Regarding derivatives:

I hear what Gekko's saying, but I also think demand is where you find it.  I'll take the 6 guys who trade DVC, and add them to the 200 mega hodlers, and add those to the day traders, and then multiple all this by China.

If you want to lockup Uno and make a NXT asset, go for it.
If you own an exchange like Cryptopia and want to tie up Uno in obscure altcoin pairings, go for it.
If you speak Chinese and can bring the Uno story to China, then I love you too.

In ideal world that was completely under my control, our message about Uno would be tight. But truly, I'm here to try serve you, and help you get to where you want to go. Whether you're a hodler, investor, trader, merchant, service provider, developers, exchange op, miners, or someone with niche interests and plans for Uno, I'm glad you're here.

In my family we all have different interests. The most enjoyable part of the day for me is sitting at the dinner table and discussing what we're doing. I don't find it confusing that we're all doing different things; I find it exciting.

I fully expect that when China really gets rolling, we will need a Chinese version of FallingKnife. I look forward to meeting him/her/them. I think we'll become good friends and collaborate on many things.

Hash Engineering has been in touch. "I am back from vacation and will hopefully have an app for testing ready in a week or less."

Shouldn't be much longer.

Good to see traders on Cryptopia, taking advantage of 0% trade fees in June. It has certainly helped the market, I think.

Be sure to checkout the new Uno base pairs.

Today they added Blazr's FLAX and Bryce's XPD, both of which can now be traded in Uno (as well as Btc/Ltc/Doge)

If there is a coin pair you want to help make the market for (ie yourcoin/Uno), let me know and I'll do what I can to promote it.

Amen, Mark.

I hold a lot of coins, most of them not very valuable. Some of them (like Uno) very valuable, and I expect them to hold value/appreciate over the long term. Other coins are just short term transactional vehicles, like tipping with doge, spending bitcoin.

To me, some of the most interesting coins are in my "not very valuable pile."  Blazr's illuminati coins to me are just kinda oddball, art. Call me crazy, but I have some really weird and interesting coins in my long term collection, including 23skidoo and cthulu, and I'm always looking for others that stand apart.

I buy art from local artists not because it's valuable or because they're famous, but because they're interesting, and I get to "own" a piece of the artist, or it reminds me of something, or some place. I have no intention to resell it or make money.  And yes, some are just shit but I like them any way (like that painting I have of dogs playing pool... my wife hates it but it speaks! to me! Smiley )

In the cryptoworld (just like in the art world) there's a lot of crap, so when I find something that's kinda cool for whatever reason (interesting dynamics, interesting history, interesting vision, unique dev, cool wallet, first xx coin, longevity, etc), I try to acquire some of it. If it's supercheap, I might try to own a quantity, say 10% of production.   I like sha coins primarily because they are so easy to keep running, scrypt is easy, too. But when you start getting into these x11/x13 algos with POS, where their future is really uncertain without the dev's nodes, I lose interest in those coins.  To me it's the difference between a painted canvas (Sha256) and a some kind of huge Christos wrapped island that I can't possibly maintain by myself; they're both art, but one is much easier to maintain than the other.

All paper isn't money. Neither is all crypto. But the differences can be subtle, and personal.

1459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: June 14, 2015, 11:17:41 PM

yea all good memories that's it. I got it

I appreciate YOU. You're not memories ,but here and now like always. And all the others guys who are here around always Cheesy
Thanks, man. I appreciate that.
That's about all I can give, though. That a little buy support at times.

Coding this crypto stuff can be intense lonely hours, and the work isn't always appreciated. I work with developers, and I know sometimes it really sucks to be one. That's why I'm really glad when people with those skills step in to help.  I've had the honor to chat with blazr a few times in the last month; I know he's still interested in Uno, even tho he has other interests, and a stressful full time job, family, etc. He's busy, and his approach to crypto has always been more personal curiosity, artistic, appreciation/experimentation with the tech, and teaching/helping others. He got a look at the money side during the Wolong/Panda deal, and it nearly put him off of crypto permanently.  He's a different kind of crypto enthusiast, thankfully.  I'm happy he launched FLAX. It's another one of his cool fun odd ball coins.  I'm glad he's still interested in enough to have a vision for a new coin.

I have time to hang around here because I am NOT a developer. If I had to add that responsibility to my current assumed role as cheerleader, I would burn out fast, and probably have a lot less patience Smiley  Seriously... if you added 20/40 hours a month of dev time per month to what little I already do, and I'd be dead. I really feel for these guys. Writing code/building/testing can take a lot out of a person.  If Blazr had a huge Uno pre-mine, I think we could stake a big claim to his time, but then again if he had a big pre-mine, it wouldn't be the Uno we all love.  Still, I'd love to see him get more active with Uno again, and I'll keep dropping the idea to him every chance I get.

Different people step up at different times to make a difference to Uno. I appreciate what Blazr's done. If he does more sometime in the future, that's fine.  If not, thanks for the memories; we can still be friends.
