1121  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: March 16, 2023, 04:02:08 PM
I have heard about Bitcoin back in 2017 but never got to learn regarding about it. I always thought that crypto was a fluke and that it would definitely not be a type of transaction until pandemic happens.
There are so many persons in your shoes too. Life happened and then learning how to trade was the only option they had. I will never forget the Covid pandemic that made us change our outlook on bitcoin. In fact, it did turn out to be a blessing becasue although I didn't fully kick-off day trading as at then, I became curious and followed the trading rabbit hole. I am glad it was worth it.

Quote
So, as the title would suggest, is it too late to start investing on crypto?
A straight-forward answer to your question is no. It is not too late to invest in crypto and in this case bitcoin. In fact, no one has the authority to tell you whether it is to late to learn or not. It is up to you. Secondly, you have signed up on one of bitcoin's most trusted forums, founded by the creator of bitcoin. You can be sure that the information gotten, if applied to your bitcoin journey will yield tremendous growth.

Quote
And if not, what would be the essentials to learn on working on it?
My suggestions are:
- use the search bar on the forum for any queries you have.
- use YouTube for video tutorials on any confusing concept.
- Read bitcoin books if you like to read. My recommendation - Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas M. Antonopoulos

1123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when people tells their story on bitcoin on: March 16, 2023, 09:37:29 AM
For long now I have been reading lots of interesting testimonies around the forum about their experience and achievement they made through bitcoin progress. Something very important came into me to know how do you feels whenever someone said of their investment and how it yielded and they made fortune out of it.

This is absolutely one of my favourite activities I carry out on the forum during my spare time. I find it quite exciting to read the stories or testimonies of how they invested in bitcoin, the impact it is making in their lives, how they are accepting bitcoin in their business, how they are creating awareness about bitcoin in their communities and localities through various means. It gives me hope about the future of bitcoin.

Quote
Do you feels your late getting involved to the industry and do you wishes to be like them, and if you were in their shoes would you be able to utilize those opportunity they got or you won't afford to bear the risk and get involved?

Actually, I utilize these stories whenever I have to speak to an individual who is enthusiastic about cryptocurrency but doesn't want to invest in bitcoin because they feel that it is too late to get involved or for some other reasons. I find that these stories offer some sort of hope, inspiration and motivation to them.

1124  Economy / Economics / Re: Lending money or damaging family bond ? on: March 16, 2023, 03:20:36 AM
Managing finances properly is key to our financial life, which is well known to each of us, I guess. I feel like this is in my bones so sometimes I make some decisions subconsciously.
I concur with this first statement. Managing finances may include proper budgeting, staying out of debts, and cultivating a healthy financial lifestyle.

Quote
I recently ran into a situation where I found myself really awkward. Last July or August(I can't remember that clearly), one of my extended family cousin asked me for three thousand dollars as he lost his job and could not pay off his loans. I refuse to lend him the money cause I knew him well that he was not a solid trustworthy guy.

Personally, I think you have given him the benefit of the doubt. Beside, you may be questioning his trustworthy based on based experiences. But I want you to know that people are capable of changing and becoming better. Also, it isn't mandatory that you should have given him the whole three thousand dollars. You could have been able to spare, maybe $500, $1000, or $1500 or any amount you could spare. He was already in a bad place.

Quote
A few days ago we met on a family reunion occasion and he did not really talk to me and I suddenly realized that it was because I didn't lend him money last year. I think about it twice and if he had not been that untrustworthy, I would have definitely lent him the money. Anyway, I hope he is doing fine now and best wishes to him.
I still think, you could have lent him whatever amount you could spare. It probably would have gone a long way. Maybe your act of kindness mixed with encouraging words would have made him become a better person character wise. He is hurt that is why he snubbed you at the family reunion. Lastly, this shouldn't be enough to damage family bond.
1125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is for the strong. on: March 16, 2023, 02:14:20 AM
Gambling is for the strong and sturdy.

Gambling is for the self-disciplined and responsible.

Quote
But then he asked me' bro assuming I had gathered all these money I have lost through gambling and channeled it into some sort of a little business or project, wouldn't it have been better!  At that moment I never knew the exact word to give to him as I never expected such deep a question, for the least I replied him was "hmm I can't really say".

Looks to me like your friend is experiencing what I may call gambler's regret that came as a result of the poor choices he made and the losses he incurred. Trust me, he wouldn't have channeled the lost monies into any little business or project because if he would, he won't be looking for sympathy from you.

Quote
With this, I wondered if other person's here in the forum that are into gambling too has at any point in time thought or felt that way, particularly when the losses are becoming overwhelming. And in that case, should such person stop gambling and rather divert such monies into something else since he/she ain't making corresponding wins or more, checking his bet history, Or he should carry on with hopes that winnings will start creeping in someday gradually?
Who wouldn't? Whenever I gamble irresponsibly, compulsively to escape pain, hurt or whenever I gamble out of my bidget and lose, I feel this way. Maybe the losses/pain are a better teacher than wins. I have been able to overcome these feelings by setting a gambling budget, having some persons to hold me accountable for gambling. I have a set time for gambling and I do not spend more than I have allocated for it.

1128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Addiction Test on: March 14, 2023, 05:17:35 PM
This a good test but let us tell ourselves the truth, people who are neck deep in gambling, I mean people who are gambling addicts know within themselves that the level to which they
are addicted even without taking the test. Even if they claim not to know, their family and friends would have cautioned them about it and the how itis impacting on their lives and wellbeing directly and indirectly.
One question that I think should be on the list is "My family and friends have told me to quit gambling."
1129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Street Gambling Risk on: March 13, 2023, 05:07:29 PM
Is street gambling safe?
Anywhere where the word street appears is never a good one. The street is not the safest place to be not to talk about gambling. You will be out there in an environment controlled by all sorts of people with criminal tendencies. Street gambling is highly unregulated and if in a regular casino where the odds are against you, in street gambling, the odds are 1000x against you.
Even if you win, the probability of getting robbed is high. Please stay away from street gambling and never encourage it. I agree with you that creating awareness could help reduce this but them if the authorities do not provide an enabling environment for her citizens to thrive, they will turn to the streets.
1130  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people stay poor? on: March 13, 2023, 04:19:16 PM
I have always wanted to ask this question is it that there is no opportunity or they do not want to get rich
Mate please more to this I am confused here.
This is an interesting question that I have always pondered on. But the real question should be, What does it mean to be poor? If you measure people's economic status by your own subjective definition it will be biased. Some people do not just want more. They are contended with what they have- material and Familia resources.
They live in a small apartment, do not own a car or fanciful things. They do not consider themselves poor because they consume whatever they grow and do not care for the other vanities of life. They are happy. These people are not poor. They are happy and living life on their terms.

Another important win for Barcelona against atleteco belbao, the win wasn't easy and belbao really did a very good second half, they even scored a goal but unfortunately iniaki Williams touched the ball with his hand, Barcelona team is running straight to the trophy and i think it's really hard for Madrid to catch them now
Congratulations to Barcelona for the three points they got from Athletic Bilbao, despite some attack challenge they experienced from the match but they still do everything possible within their skills to defeated Athletic Bilbao 1-0 to maintain their position in the la Liga league table. I don't think, Real Madrid will be able to take over this position from Barcelona till the end of this tournament because their coach performance in this season showed that they will embrace this title in this tournament. Athletic Bilbao performed well in the second half, because they tried their possible best to equalize the goal but Barcelona defenders never allow such thing to happen till the end of the match.
barcelona's victory against bilbao was very dramatic, if there was no VAR then the final score would be a draw, barcelona is playing very well, they are getting further away from madrid which is currently in 2nd position with a point difference of up to 9, there is little chance for madrid to shift barcelona's position at the top, they really deserve it.
The goalkeeper displayed impressive goalkeeping skills. The defense this season is the best in a long time, and Araujo, who couldn't play in this match, is the best of the season.
Furthermore, Raphinha's intensity is very good. He has gained confidence. Barca needs another pure center forward, but I am not saying that Lewa is playing badly. It remains difficult to understand why Xavi does not give Ansu Fati enough playing time and does not make Pablo Torre play. He prefers to always play with  Ferran Torres when he doesn't play at all.

First time in 2023 Chelsea can able to scores 2 goals in a match and last time they did this on december 2022 and it is very special because they were eliminate Dortmund which is from performance sides Dortmund previously were better than them and this is good progress because finally Potter can prove to the fans that he can successfully to improved Chelsea performance

Chelsea shouldn't get carried away with this victory . Their morale needs to stay high so they can keep winning. Hopefully they can replicate this win in their next match during the weekend. 1134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you know any telegram group where a lot of gamblers meet? on: March 07, 2023, 05:26:16 PM
There are lots of gambling groups on telegram and other social media sites, but I have never been a member of any of them because of the incessant scams and hacks that go on there. Most of them are filled with spams.  My preference has always been to use google and I also do check out some reddit channels too, do my own research to get the latest up to date casino information.
1135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling earn someone a living on: March 07, 2023, 04:32:37 PM
No matter what anyone say, gambling can never be a source of livelihood for anyone. Anyone who gambles must already have an alternative source of income where he get the money he or she uses to wager on any game.
The only sets of persons who may decide to pick up gambling to "earn a living" are Trust fund babies who are living off the wealth of their parents. Because this is absolutely unsustainable. Anyone who claims they are doing it must be lying.
1136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: where the losed money goes? on: March 07, 2023, 04:01:06 PM
my question is ,
when we play gambling online in casino , we always bust our account , many new comers completely blow their account every time they deposit ,
the gambling site owner's earn money by the commission which it takes 1% or less on every bet made by user , when blowing accounts where all money goes, in casino's pocket or where ,
and the question that the losed money will go to other player's pocket who wins big but the winning players are very less,
i think many are losing in gambling and the casino sites are hugely profiting from us ,
do you think that is the case .
I have thought of this question whenever I lose some amount of money to gambling. Funny right? But then the best thoughts that come to mind is that, casinos need money to run keep their business going, they need to pay staff or site managers, they need to maintain their machines, or equipment or carry out regular website maintenance.
What also comes to mind is that they would also use some of these monies to run adverts, promos, and campaigns. And not forgetting the most important, lost monies are used to pay winners.

1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Build your Own Casino(online/offline) If You Know You Can? on: March 06, 2023, 08:53:11 AM
If you made a billion dollars or even more, as someone who love gambling/betting and have been doing this on several other casinos for many years now, would you rather start your own casino?
Or would you prefer to keep gambling, doing your sports betting on other casinos even when you know you have more than enough money to start your own casinos and make the casino as big as you want it to be??
If I made a billion dollars or even more, I would start my own online casino. I would run it the way coca cola runs their business all over the world. By using a unique franchise model. I would never gamble again.
There wouldn't be any need to. I will sign up brand ambassadors who are superstars and have them partner with me. I would also go ahead to contact reputable campaign managers on this forum to campaign. A billion dollars would turn into 50 billion dollars in no time. This is what I would do.
1139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to surprise a friend on: March 06, 2023, 08:28:41 AM
Would you love to accept Bitcoin as a Birthday Gift?
Since your friend is a crypto or bitcoin enthusiast, I say, go for it. It will fit in with the list of things that are most important to them. Additionally, it will be easy for them to understand how volatile the asset is and how its price and value fluctuate, so when the chips are down, they wouldn't say that they didn't know. On the other hand, I wouldn't gift bitcoin to a friend who isn't a bitcoin enthusiast, and isn't interested in the topic of bitcoin, I would send another perfect gift that matches their interests would be perfectly fine. That way, I would have saved Myself and them a lot of heartache.
1140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 06, 2023, 07:13:04 AM
Liverpool gave Manchester united the trash of their life, just seem like the whole form and current winning spree that man United have had so far is just not real, having conceeded a whooping 7-0 in the hands of Liverpool that has been struggling to win games this season without even scoring a goal is really a huge disappointment, though I said it on before the match that Liverpool knows how to handle Manchester united and it has become obvious now, however I wasn't expecting this huge margin.
What a fantastic game, even though I am not a fan of Liverpool, this is one game that will go down in football history as one of the best. Liverpool totally dominated Manchester United, and it was obvious whose team outplayed who. With two goals and numerous records broken, Mo Salah was unstoppable. It was a true pleasure to witness the Reds play with such fire and enthusiasm. Each member of the team contributed to the incredible triumph as they worked together effortlessly.
