The funny part is that aside from that two goals against Cameroon, Nigeria has not been able to get past that one goal margin and I feel they'd need to do better when it comes to goal scoring. The Super eagles have been lucky and coupled with a strong defense and good keeper, they've not really found much challenge when they always get those goals. This win has ensured their ticket to the semi's but if I were them, I would employ the mentality of not underestimating any team, but always carrying at the back of their minds to score as much goals when they meet their opponents. I was just hearing so much excitement all over my neighborhood after the end of the game, and honestly I felt somehow. Nigerians rejoicing that we beat a small country like Angola? Well this is a tournament and the Super Eagles don’t need hige scoreline to go through stages of this tournament. What’s needed is the format the coach has been able to employ which is to defend and then get one goal and try to secure it. The coach understands this and luckily for him the players understands too and are playing according to pattern and it’s gotten them to the semis. And yes the victory is worth celebrating because Angola haven’t been a bad side in this AFCON and every feat attained should be celebrated as it helps to boost the confidence of the players that the fans are happy with them and standing right beside them. André Onana did not live up to expectations, but maybe that happened because Manchester United rated Onana too highly, they didn't take into account that there is a difference in competition between the English Premier League and Serie A, where we know the EPL has tighter competition or indeed Onana still needs time to adapt, although it does not rule out the possibility that his performance was not impressive because Manchester United's defenders did not perform well so their goal was easily penetrated by opponents in many matches, and we also often see players who can be said to have failed in their first season but slowly start to improve in the following season.
There's no 100% assurance about that, but if you don't experiment how then are you going to get solutions? By the looks of it Galatasaray ended up getting Serge Aurier, he used to be an amazing player, very talented physically, he was very fast and quick, and as we all know an agile back is always a good thing to have.
However, he is now 30+ years old, and he hasn't been all that great for a while, he didn't get minutes even at Notthingham Forrest, for a team that is trying to play at Europa, and also trying to win the league, a bench player from Notthingham Forrest doesn't really sound like a smart move, certainly not smart if you consider his age as well because they can't make much out of him for the future. This type of "big name" transfers never really helped any team, you should always look for someone who deserves it, not someone who had a good career.
At the end of the January transfer window, the Turkish side was able to earn for themselves a player with a very good skill set. It was very much expected that the transfer window was going to effect either positive or negative changes in a team and for Galatasaray, it's safe to say that the change was a positive one. Serge Aurier is an experienced EPL player, he's gained a lot of experience from Tottenham before moving to Nottingham Forest and would make a good addition to Galatasaray. It is true that Chelsea is currently having a bad season in contrast to Liverpool who are experience a much better season, even from the standings table alone it is clear that Chelsea and Liverpool are at different level. Chelsea is like a mediocre club which is ranked 10th while Liverpool is in first place, which mean it will not be easy for Chelsea to beat Liverpool and hold Liverpool to a draw because this club is struggling to maintain its top position so as not to be displaced by Manchester City who continues to trail Liverpool in 2nd placed.
Chelsea is already quite far behind with the top 5 ranked clubs. Aston Villa has collection 43 points while Chelsea has only collected 31 points. The difference of 12 points is a very big difference. It's impossible if Chelsea is able to catch up to be ranked in the top 5. I think Chelsea might still end up on the board middle of the standings or at least in the top 10 of the standings.

I think the Nigeria team has now gotten to understand that this is a tournament and you don’t need to play a very fanciful game here in the tournament as you could get hit by a counter that could result in your elimination. Intermilan is far experienced in UCL compared to the atletico madrid but i must agree if this match is very hard to predict right now. Atletcio madrid is not lucky enough caused by it must be facing a strong club. Intermilan was in the same tier like manchester city and atletico needs to bead it. This is not gonna be easy task.
I do know how balance the attacking and defensive line of intermilan. Bookmakers are seeing both were equal but i have different opinion regarding this. Atletico madrid is not that strong enough and it can be seen from the performance in the la liga.
Atletico madrid was still struggling below girona and real madrid right now. No doubt that if club is now facing a difficult situation in the UCL by facing intermilan. This is not a good match for atletico madrid caused by the chance to lose is pretty high.
We do know that if serie a was always becoming the main rival for la liga club. I have been seeing it many times that la liga club was losing against it. Intermilan's coach shall consider atletico madrid as a strong opponent. The club must always be careful.
Intermilan can play defensively against la liga club. I think that mostly of la liga clbus are using the same patterm like they were putting ball possession as the main target to be achieved first.
Inter milan and Atletico Madrid, well this is going to be one tightly contested match in the Round of 16 as they both have their strengths and Little weaknesses. Yes Inter are very good and have sharp attackers while Athletico are pretty cool on the defense especially when they chose to sit and watch you play. Well, Inter can also go defensive and hit Athletico with the counter. This match will be one very tight match in this round of the UCL and I think whoever goes past this stage will probably be seen as a title contender and I have high hopes on Inter going through to the Quater Finals. Well exploring on the strengths and weaknesses of both clubs then I’ll think Inter has better chance of progressing than Atletico because on current ratings, Inter are doing pretty well and yea, they’re a top team and also look like the UCL contender. Inter have a good attack that could hit you with the goals and they’re well organized as compared to Atletico. |
