1221  Economy / Economics / Re: Can one achieve financial independence through crypto currency? on: February 13, 2023, 10:55:20 PM
Financial independence in the form of free to use their money is being achieved. We can't do anything with the fund getting accumulated in few corporates hands to be dispersed all around. We can't raise questions, because its their hard earned money. When we talk of equality we can't consider it, because sharing the money of government is different from sharing an individual's earning.
1222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can help all nations. on: February 13, 2023, 10:48:16 PM
How did that 800M come from ?

Same question, I haven't follow how much they invested on Bitcoin and when did they sell to take profits.

I do not think that they did. At least I have not seen anywhere that Bukele has made it public.

Nowhere it is mentioned about the country doing 800 million. The tourism industry have boomed which was at the low bottom due to the pandemic. Something around 35% growth in the tourism industry have taken place which is really good. More infrastructure plans have been planned out of the bitcoin bonds and things haven't touched the reality. Possibly it takes time and begins when the market turns to be strongly bullish.
1223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 12, 2023, 11:59:27 PM
I agree PCB has every right to host tourney in Pakistan but at the same BCCI has valid reservations, which we have discussed countless times. Also visiting Pakistan for Asia Cup will set a new precedent that if India can visit for the Asia cup then why not for Bilateral tours?

I would prefer if they host the tournament without India despite taking a hit on revenue. Also evil BCCI never takes a single penny from the Asia cup so it serves them right that no one has a favorable opinion towards BCCI.
I am also feeling now we need to bring changes as well as they already talk countlessly and India is not coming to play cricket in Pakistan then surely they need to go ahead without them even this could be not profitable, but this is good time for checking this all that can they survive without India in Asia or not if this happens in positive way then surely this could be good for the ACC as well because while next time India wants to host Asia Cup then surely they can also go ahead without Pakistan, and we will have end of this all drama which is creating mess up in ACC.

But, if they have not been minding to play without India then surely they need to go ahead at neutral place and stop this all media drama and other bullshit talk which is not favourable for anyone and just having off the field sentiments, hopefully we will have better decision in near future about this all.
Pakistani cricket and economy are both in limbo
They seem so unstable. I am not sure if there is any way Pakistan is going to be stable again - today I was watching in new that Tim Hortons has their highest sale over 61 years in Lahore. Are the people of Pakistan really poor?
Comparing the sale figure of Tim Hortons with that of the Pakistan's present scenario is unfair. Every country have got poor as well as rich people. The rich always enjoy the luxury, even at the bad economic situation the life style won't be disturbed much. This is the reason Tim Hortons have made history, not because of the people who are striving for a day's meal.
1224  Economy / Gambling / Re: STARTING OWN CRYPTO GAMBLING SITE on: February 12, 2023, 11:56:25 PM
You need funds if you want to start your own full-blown crypto casino site.  If you do not have enough funds, but have the ability and knowledge to set up an online casino  you can always do crowdfunding to support you with the finances you need.  There is two way in getting crowdfunded, you can use kickstart platforms or create your own token and sell them as an initial offering and give the holder part of the profit.  If you are successful then you might be able to get the fund you needed for a gambling site.

Speaking of crowdfunding, I was wondering if any of the veterans here know of any gambling projects that started through crowdfunding and eventually became successful with the help of the community? I'd love to hear about any experiences or examples.

Not really, but such a platform will be sure success. Invest options over gambling platforms itself very rare option. As the house always have its edge, there won't be much of loss unless there is some security issue that can cause hack.

OP could try to learn and slowly develop something unique, maybe it can take time. But his work will be really a big learning and can turn to be a great success as he have well understood about the market and wants the independent market.
1225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rumors that US SEC would like to ban crypto staking on: February 12, 2023, 11:49:52 PM
The market is speculative and often there needs something that could make the market move upwards and downturn. The market had experienced a forward push from the price around $17k and now stabilizing around $22k. By the time more things happen, as the market tend to move sideways. What is being circulated is kind of FUD that could drag the market downwards and make way for Whales to invest big. This is the common practice and now people doesn't let it happen as they've well understood the market.
1226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bounty really pay? on: February 12, 2023, 11:44:48 PM
Most of the bounties pay, but the problem is whether the rewards have got value or not. These days most of the bounties received simply sit idle on the wallet as tokens without value. This is the scenario, very few bounties have got value. It is good to focus on airdrops that are being done by much expected projects. Here the competence used to be high and the luckiest used to enjoy the best out of it.
1227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin trans-generational assets? on: February 12, 2023, 02:58:22 AM
What's the hope of Bitcoin for our future generation?

Just like Satoshi mentioned, in the long run Bitcoin prize will be really high or zero, that's the only two options for the crypto coin, so, the future generations can join this party now or it will be too late in the future for them, because in some point if bitcoin price gets too high, it would be impossible for them to buy, or in other words, they will be late for this party,
For sure the price will reach high than going down to zero. Upon this it is good to join the party and enjoy than missing it. This is what the situation of the future generation. At some point if the price turns down to zero they miss a chance of experiencing how things work. So, just on the trust, making use of it is the best choice. Rather than raising questions OP needs to start using bitcoin which will let him understand the reality. Only through experience we can understand better than hearing from people around us.
1228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 11, 2023, 09:50:45 PM
3rd Match Group A ICC Women T20 World Cup. Today's 3rd match is New Zealand Women's Cricket Team vs Australia Women's Cricket Team. The New Zealand cricket team won the toss and welcomed the Australian women's team to bat. Australia women's cricket team is very comfortable with batting. On the other hand, the New Zealand women's cricket team's bowling line-up is very weak. Looking at the game, it is believed that Australia women's team is likely to score 170 runs
That was a great match Australian women team. They played awesome in both side batting and bowling. Especially Ashleigh Gardner played awesome role in bowling side he took 5 wicket and gave only runs in 3overs.
On the others hand new zealand, not only bowling line UP is weak Their performance today is that both their batting and bowling sites are very weak against Australian women.
When it comes to T20 matches, the results needs to be closer. Only then viewers will get interest into watching the matches. Already it is known that Australia Women's team gonna win the match, and performance from New Zealand Women's need to be better. Gardner have got a five wicket haul. Good performance from the bowlers and batters of Australia Women's team. New Zealand Women's team needs more improvement starting from the opening lineup.
1229  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: February 11, 2023, 09:39:41 PM
I don't think Valentine's Day have got something to do with gambling. If I'm not wrong, it'll be the monthly bonus that'll be sent by the day with Happy Valentine's Day email. Stake used to conduct promotions connected with special events. There is no such announcement in connection with February 14th
We had received monthly bonus from Stake on the 14th February of 2022. But they didn't mention about the Valentine's day celebration in the monthly bonus message. Valentine's day isn't a special holiday to celebrate. So, we shouldn't expect any extra bonus from Stake for Valentine's day celebration. But Stake team could release the monthly bonus on that day as it is in the middle of the month.
My prediction is 13th February for monthly coupon emails, they will release monthly bonus on Super Bowl day. If you check Stake Twitter, Kevin from Finance team has leaked some info on tweets.
Giveaway for random users in connection with the Superbowl event is being done. This promotion will be connected with the monthly bonus. Whats been predicted is correct and lets wait as we're just two days away from the Valentine's Day and just a day away from Superbowl event. Finally we've got an order, 13th Superbowl event, 14th Valentine's Day and 15th regular monthly bonus day.
1230  Economy / Economics / Re: How we survive food shortages on: February 11, 2023, 09:31:55 PM
Turning ourselves to be self reliant is the best way to overcome the food shortage problem. The economic situation around the world is worse and it had already affected the buying ability of all class of people. It is a must to educate the kids as well as ourselves to daily get into cultivation of certain food crops. Apart from this, it is to keep ourselves always prepared to face the worst stocking good volume of foods in the dried and processed manner so that it won't go bad in a short time period.
1231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin payment implementing at the Bitcoin Island(BORACAY) on: February 11, 2023, 09:24:51 PM
~snip~
Well, this could be a good start for Philippines to finally adopt bitcoin as this could bring huge benefits not only to bitcoin users alone, but to the country’s economy as well.

I think that this example is proof that adaptation does not necessarily have to come from the top of the political power, but can be successfully carried out by an individual with a good idea - of course, provided that such things are not prohibited by law. Some may object to the way Bitcoin is accepted on the island, because there is an intermediary who converts BTC into local currency through his app, but due to its volatility, there are rare examples of someone wanting to accept BTC as a direct payment.

If the example of Boracay turns out to be successful, I don't see why other tourist destinations around the world wouldn't try the same concept - after all, Bitcoin is a currency and should be used as such.
This is the real adoption, because the usage comes from the low bottom. When a corporate network starts accepting bitcoin, the usage gets limited at some level. The flow won't move to the very lower bottom. Here this is already a big success. An application that converts bitcoin instantly and settle the receiver in the form of fiat is good for the beginning days. Slowly things could change and vendors start direct acceptance of bitcoin understanding the potential and the goodness bitcoin can bring into one's life.
1232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very thankful for what bitcoin has done for me. on: February 11, 2023, 09:16:15 PM
Once it served limited number of people. Now bitcoin is much visible and people prioritise bitcoin for different purposes. Majority of the people initially get into bitcoin for its monetary benefits. Once things get going on the right track people start experiencing bitcoin's multiple usage. This makes the users mind give much importance for the technology along with the monetary value which is how real it provides real freedom. Now a big number of people all over the world will be having the same thought as OP.
1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What most gamblers do. on: February 10, 2023, 09:43:50 PM
Compulsive gamblers will always get tempted to gamble so as long as they have a source of funds to gamble, they will bet and play. That's the reason why they don't have savings because they always gamble their excess funds thinking that they could double or tripple it which results in more losses. As for me, no matter how big or small our savings are, we shouldn't risk it in gambling because we will end up having a life without preparation and savings for our future.
Agreed, at any cost we should not spend the amount for our life needs or allocated for some specific purpose. I've shared my real life experience of using my emergency funds into gambling and the suffering I experienced. This needs to be a learning, though I'm not a compulsive gambler something drives me to give a try and end up losing everything. This is not good choice when you're not with excess money or savings that can help you if scenario turns worse.
1234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pakistan Super League #PSL Discussion Thread on: February 10, 2023, 09:36:16 PM
The eight season of PSL is scheduled for 13th February with the match between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars. The league have grown in a slow and steady way. Compared to the old days, slowly PSL is getting visibility around and people away from Pakistan too begun to watch it. PSL authorities have done good scheduling before the IPL which is good than mixing up between leagues same as that happened recently with BBL, BPL and SA20
1235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 10, 2023, 09:24:45 PM
The first match in ICC Women's T20 World Cup will be played today between the hosts (South Africa) and Sri Lanka at the Newlands stadium in Cape Town. South Africa is included in a tough group along with Australia and New Zealand and therefore wins against the two weak teams (Sri Lanka and Bangladesh) is absolutely necessary for them to qualify for the next round. Group B is a bit more easier, with India and England being the only strong teams (other teams in this group are West Indies, Pakistan and Ireland).

I guess Australia + India + England + South Africa are looking favorites to play in the semis.

The first 3 are obvious choices, Kiwis could've been 4th choice but SA is playing at home so I'll put them slightly ahead in the competition (they lost the first match but still).

If not, then surely we are up for some upsets.

Every match seems to be important and the loss of South Africa surely lower its chance based on the performance from the other teams in the upcoming matches. Today's match was something interesting till the last, requirement of 13 runs and South Africa Women scoring 9 runs is good after the loss of 9 wickets. As mentioned of upsets, every tournament used to have some unexpected results. Here also I expect something to happen in the falling days.
1236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do casino and sports betting platform owners gamble as much as other people? on: February 10, 2023, 09:12:03 PM
Maybe the online casino and sports betting platform owners spend on real casinos. When they gamble on their own platform it won't be anything exciting. Whether the gamble brings win or lose, there won't be any kind of excitement or frustration. If I'm not wrong the gambling sites owners might try how their platforms were performing playing different games.
1237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 10, 2023, 06:48:16 AM
Todd Murphy is having a good outing so far and he has picked up his third wicket in the form of Cheteshwar Pujara. He has figures of 15-2-35-3 at this point, while Nathan Lyon has 20-4-66-0 to his name. The two relatively inexperienced bowlers (Todd Murphy and Scott Boland) have so far stood out among the Australian attack and this is the first time that they are playing against India. On the other hand, the Indian batsmen are handling Cummins and Lyon with relative ease. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli at the crease. Australia need some quick wickets now.
Some quick wickets is must for Australia at this point to be on the safer side. Based on the performance from Rohit Sharma it looks like he's playing only the confident shots. On the other side Virat have slowly begun his scoring, and by the end of the day atleast we should see score above 300 runs. Todd Murphy is playing good, same as the Indian spinners spin bowling is giving hands to Australia team.
1238  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: February 08, 2023, 11:23:44 PM
We can potentially expect 80,000 in 2023. Everything will depend on both the economic situation and the degree of acceptance of bitcoin and the level of use in interstate settlements. it is no longer necessary to be tied to halving alone, since a huge portion of the coins have already been mined.
I'm not sure of it. The market is in good position, but the economy needs to be rebuilt and it takes time. In recent years the cryptomarket have begun to coexist with the traditional market. This too a reason why we were able to have bullish and bearish movement within respect to the traditional market variation. Though huge portion of coins is mined, the halving increase the demand even high which could trigger the market high than what we experience now and then.
1239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 08, 2023, 11:19:03 PM
Emotional decisions never benefit anyone. I am 99.99% sure that India would refuse to participate in Asia Cup, if it is being held in Pakistan. Therefore the only option left for the PCB is to move the tournament to a neutral venue. They can conduct the tournament without India, but then ACC will lose more than 75% of the expected earnings form this edition. And what they can do about it? Obviously boycotting the ODI World Cup in India is an option. But the cost will be too huge for the PCB and they will be unable to afford it. My advice to them is to stay low until the opportunity arrives. Let BCCI do whatever it want for now.
I agree as it is not good time for PCB, so they have to give up and just go as things are going with most chances they will not get any compensation from ACC as well because if they allow this all then there is no problem to playing in Pakistan here Jay Shah and company have no softer corner for Pakistan and their situation so better for the PCB just go ahead with new venue for the Asia Cup and also talk with ICC about Visas and security of the Pakistan team in India while they will be in this country for the world cup and if they agreed about this all then surely they have to go India for the world cup and give their best which is currently important for their cricket and better future of the game.
Emotions are part, and we need to have the better understanding through these situations. This will let them work on the game and progress than keeping themselves down with the unwanted politics. As said Jay Shah and Company doesn't have any soft corner, which also have valid reason. Right now moving the venue to a neutral place and winning the Asia Cup makes Pakistan stand high. Whatever the politics PCB does, it doesn't gonna benefit them in any means which is the hard truth.
1240  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 08, 2023, 11:13:29 PM
Saving is the base for investment. In the past people doesn't had the opportunity to invest. Now everything is in the hand and it makes things easier. The decision needs to be taken by OP, because at times the investment might fail. In that situation mind thinks I should've saved the money than investing. As there is no side hurdles to meet invest is my choice as it looks like the student is able to meet her needs and able to hold it for long term. With investment time is the major constraint, because when you're in need the market might be at the bottom and at such situation you need the money to withstand the situation.
