So finally we have our winners for the prediction contest in both of them and congratulations to all of them especially @LFC_Bitcoin who has taken place in both of them which shows his predictions were upto the mark.

I was also having the feeling that bitcoin would be trading in the circle of around $19-$20k only within these days as nothing much of huge investment sign were there but still congratulations to all the winners and best wishes for next one.
1242  Other / Meta / Re: Save your nice merit records here - LAST UPDATE: 08/08/2022 on: September 29, 2022, 01:22:45 PM

Congratulations to him for the same and now his Target for 7500 is locked and then you all know the next one so now merit clubs is witnessing more and more members.
1243  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can amA User's Forum Account Be Hacked? on: September 29, 2022, 01:10:19 PM
As a newbie, I always login to check if my forum account is still intact. I want to know if it's possible for my account to be hacked.
The answer is preety simple that anything connected over internet has potential risk of being hacked and the forum account is also one of them if we are pretty negligent about it like sharing your mail over public in the forum or giving someone you don't trust the access to your device where you have logged in to the forum. There are many ways but you should always be careful in these matters and follow above links for your safety.

The safety lies in your hand and you need to take necessary steps as precautionary measures against these hacks.
1244  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about wallet seed in numbers on: September 29, 2022, 12:58:29 PM
There are a few numbers of crypto wallets today, from Trust wallet to Math wallet and atomic but I want to ask why some wallets have 12 words recovery seed and some have 14 and more?

Also is higher the number the better with security? I read somewhere that if you can get 6 out of 12 recovery seed you may be able to get the rest, is this true? I just want to know how far wallet security can go.
So as you have been already told that the standard practice for wallet using the BIP-39 standard the seed phrases are 12 words or 24 mnemonic entropy and it's secure. The word list contains total 2048 words from which they are derived by the wallets but if you say about extra security then you can use passphrase along with your 12 or 24 word seed phrase but remember to safely store both of them on offline storage as without it you cannot access your funds.

Now if you say that you know only 6 words out of 12 then I would say it's near to impossible brute force and crack the rest of words because there are lot of possible combinations as you are missing 6 words out of it.See this answer where only one word is missing and we have so many possibilities so you are wrong on this part I would say.

About brute forcing seed phrase. On a computer, 4 words can be brute forced in some minutes, while 5 words can be brute forced in some hours. 6 words shouldn't take more than 2 or more days. I have not practically tested this before though. As long as an attacker has the remaining words correctly and not scattered or disarranged, brute forcing it is possible.
This is why the standard practice is 12 words long with full security and really hard to brute force that will take some years to crack it and the small word can easily be brute forced out of the list of 2048 but still there are lot of combinations to them.
1245  Other / Meta / Re: Merit what, why on: September 28, 2022, 02:43:43 PM
what are the merits for and what are the benefits....
actually this is a trite question that is often raised by new accounts which incidentally are not new members here to seek sympathy and empathy.
Where in local forums it has been explained a lot and even topic threads about rules relating to merit and others are listed and stored at the top
I myself reasoned that new members would definitely stop by at the local forum and ask there or search first about merit
but I hope the OP is indeed a newcomer here
For sure the @OP is new to the forum and there are many other's also along with him who are in hoard to ask the same questions via creating these similar threads and spamming up different boards across the forum. But the thing is they need to be familiar with it and in rush to rank up they violate the forum rules and end up banning their account through these works. So new guidelines and pop up box for them would help them a lot.
1246  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: September 28, 2022, 02:36:11 PM

unfortunately that is probably the case more often than not
that's why KYC policies are not the ultimate solution and can even be harmful by incentivizing a parallel market for people's documents.
But the thing is it's even more dangerous when you are using any third party software for it whom you don't trust and they can easily sell off your documents in the dark web to some hackers for withdrawal of illicit funds. So this must be taken care of that document you submit are of your own and on legit platform but I am not comfortable with high level documentation on any platform.
1247  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: September 28, 2022, 02:25:38 PM

That's why gamblers have to think about the long term financial risks if they really can't quit gambling. It's okay to gamble as long as they are responsible gamblers, but when it's done without control then they get into trouble.

Gamblers can try various features offered by casinos, but the risk is still there because actually losing is a certainty that must be experienced by gamblers while winning is a hope that is difficult to achieve on various occasions. So be a responsible gambler, meaning they have to understand the risks.
Who said gambling will always be loss in future? There are both way returns like profit/loss and you need to be sensible gambler to balance your situation well and that's it.If you are not professional then you can enjoy with your small bets only.

You just don't go beyond your limits and keep up your budget if you don't want to end up in worse situation and play in well manner.
1248  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Merit] Share your best posts/threads with Fillippone to be merit assessed on: September 28, 2022, 02:09:02 PM
fillippone has done this to all forum members who have submitted posts in this thread, of course he will exclude posts from naughty users or do not respect the rules made. So far he has helped many forum users with his generosity, Of course a lot of time is spent reviewing one by one the posts submitted in this thread. Hope he never gets tired of helping forum users which can bring them closer to new rankings, forums desperately need people like him.
Not only this thread he was among generous merit sources before that also and usually hands out 3 merit in each TX to the good posts but with this thread he has handed out really good amount of merits and is continuing the same journey.

He has undertaken this with his efforts and ofcourse he go through your post to merit them but what do you mean by naughty members here? Those who don't care to read the rules and ignore should take into consideration that if he's gonna spend the whole time reviewing your post you should spend few Minutes in checking the rules of submission.
1249  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me translate my best posts in your Local Board on: September 28, 2022, 01:52:54 PM
I encourage everyone to follow Gazeta footsteps. Translating is a long and tedious work, that needs patience and accuracy to be well executed.
But the reward, not in merit terms, but in the knowledge spreading, is definitely worth the effort
And that local touch of the language is very necessary that he sparks in the translation of the threads giving readers a better understanding of the content.See I would say copying him exactly would be hard for those who are new and trying to translate the post but yes giving a view on his translated posts would be of much help to them.

I admit that translating posts into local languages is not an easy job, therefore this work cannot be done by just anyone. In certain sections, every word or sentence must be carefully considered so that it is easy for local users to understand.
I'm very interested in translating your best posts into my local language (Indonesian), but I need some time to get started because I've never done it before.
Yes translation is not an easy task and especially for our Italian geek friend @fillippone with his long and detailed thread as it will take lot of time and efforts but if you want to give it a shot then you can surely do it but want to know it's your first translation that you are interested in? If yes then give some normal tries first hand and then move to the big topics so that you are portraying right information to the readers with you also having the same knowledge of local language.

Also specify in this thread beforehand which post you are going to translate and in which local language so that there is no confusion among members but take your time.
1250  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me translate my best posts in your Local Board on: September 27, 2022, 02:00:29 PM

Excepting that, if anybody else is interested in translating this topic, I'll have to give you a heads-up: thread is currently locked by mods, thus you can't quote it, in order to have the BBCode already prepared (by fillippone's original writing). Those interested in making this translation will have to write their own BBCode for the translation which is a bit more of work, indeed, but nothing not doable. The topic itself is very interesting and I was amazed to see all big numbers mentioned inside it. Therefore, I am also encouraging other users to try this translation, which requires just a bit more effort than the other topics.
His topics has always been interesting one and preety detailed one and when you are translating them there is a responsibility on you to have all the details in correct order as you are sharing information from them and it must be right.

But those are interested in translating the topic can take the help of this thread to quote from the lock topic but it would be a work for newbies to handle all this but they can follow these guidelines for translation work to quote topic.
1251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can whitepaper still shows the weakness of a project and their team on: September 27, 2022, 01:42:22 PM
For newbies is a copied whitepaper still a red flag for projects? I heard they don't matter much anymore because big projects do the same thing too, if two projects have the same goals or utility one can copy the other, change some few words here and there?

What advice can you give me based on this? Is it right to say, yo any project that has a whitepaper that looks like another project is a scam or  bad for investment.
How come both the projects have the same idea realisation until they are one? Suppose two projects are working towards a common goal but their way of working should be different from others otherwise which one you will choose? The proof of concept is your own and if it's original it can never be same so it's definitely a red flag for those projects.

You can have some references from others while framing one of your own white paper if you don't have idea about it but as you say copy paste then what's the advantage of those projects who can't clearly conceptualize their own idea and framework? So have some other options.
1252  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: September 27, 2022, 01:29:16 PM
it’s normal to be confused about this new feature, because it’s not seen on any other casino as far as I know hence there’s bound be some confusion regarding it. @worle1bm has correctly explained it, but to get a better feel I would suggest you to wager small amounts first so you get used to this innovative concept, and only then would I recommend that you consider scaling up your bets.
That is what I understood as well. But, if I give my 100 to clan leader, and it becomes 110, then I could gamble myself and make it 110 too, why would I let the clan leader decide when I can do it myself as well?

My real question is, is there and extra profit in there or not? If there isn't one, the idea is simple, instead of doing 100 on 1.1x odds and getting 110 back, I put it on a pool with 10 different people, we all chip in 100, the total is 1000, we gamble on 1.1 again, we get 1100 back, so my reward is once again 110. That's what I never understood, it's the same return, is there like an extra benefit to it or not? That's what I never understood.
You are getting amount based on your amount staked in the pool not on the whole winning basis and you are getting confused with it.The clan feature is not supposed to provide you with some big wins for surety then individual one but a way to connect similar and like minded people in one clan and they can gamble jointly and share the rewards if any.

The above one was just example and you can say that small gambler can deposit some amount and if clan hit high multiplier they get rewards according to the percentage of their amount in total but as individuals you don't have chance to hit high multipliers and other benefits so you can read the blog first and have understanding about it.
1253  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: September 27, 2022, 01:15:56 PM

Yeah, im pretty aware of that where even those bounty seekers specially on airdrops do really comply with KYC just to get those free coins which is totally insane and mind boggling on why the hell do end up with those considerations.I agree on what we are seeing on social media where most people do give out update on what they've been doing everyday but well its their choice on having that way but they
should really be at least concern in terms of privacy which might compromise their security if they are doing that on beyond borders.

It is not so mind boggling for me. A lot of people think that airdrops are really interesting and will give serious money and don't think twice when they need to submit their KYC. When I was new, I also needed to learn a lot of stuff but I never submitted KYC for a bounty or airdrop.
Back in the days Airdrop was most common way of scamming people and rug projects and hackers use this a main technique to scam you of your funds.People in hope of getting free coins airdropped give their main wallet address and connect with it only and wallet was drained.Second you have to submit your KYC documents which were illegally used for crimes and you have to face the consequences and next you get shit tokens worth zero so the whole system was fraudulent and didn't take part in them from non legit projects.
1254  Other / Meta / Re: Merit what, why on: September 27, 2022, 01:01:48 PM
Some things on the forum like hidden mail address arealready some addressed privacy concerns by default, repeated merit, activity and se forum functions that continues to get a repeated answer could be explained by a default welcome note or possibly with links to where newbies would get clarification other than having them start there own episode.
There are some suggestions but implementation relies in @theymos hands and we have seen one updation after many years which is adding @OP to the thread creator name so these others will possibly take more time to be implemented correctly.

These welcome notes could help newbies as well save forum from lot of spam threads that ask about rules and merit related stats because they tend to ignore the forum search function and their direct approach is to ask by creating a thread but will see if have it along with new forum software or not.
1255  Other / Meta / Re: Merit what, why on: September 24, 2022, 12:03:31 PM
If the post/thread you make contains the terms of a quality, constructive and informative post, then you have no reason for Merit Source to skip your post with Merit.
It's not like that merit source will always notice your post as there are hundreds of threads being created daily and it's hard to have an eye on all of them which is why we have many merit sources across across different boards but if you think your topic is good and didn't have merit you can always report them to the thread you have mentioned above. But there are merit distribution from members as well so you can see if you post is really good and helpful you can merits on them to rank up.

I appreciate your efforts for creating a table explaining the merit system but you can simply quote the original author in these cases like we have on the first page and it can be avoided so it's advice to you on this matter as you are not explaining something else so you can see that

The welcome message I feel should be too priority on new implementations to the forum, and the way I see it, would not need much tweaking of the current system, just a pop up for brand-new members.
A welcome message would really be helpful and directing them towards some threads explaining the forum rules and little bit of forum functionality tutorial will also be helpful but that would go into too much demands seeing that we are not seeing simple updations also but if implemented can help newbies a lot if they intend to learn it.

I can't believe I forgot the date nooo! The final round of the Qatar raffle (and other prizes) just ended. I set a reminder for myself on Thursday and then totally forgot to sync my calendar to work and now it's over.

Only managed to enter the earlier raffle, but I hope someone from here wins. Anyway don't forget to watch the draw live if you have tickets on Monday! 26 September: https://bitcasino.io/promotions/2022-08-22-luxury-in-qatar-raffle-3
So you just missed out the last date to take part in the raffle as it's already ended and now luxury Qatar final game is now out of our reach but also hope someone from us have this opportunity and there are some other exciting prizes as well like Iphones and Airpods but you know the real fun of final game with all the benefits included. So maybe next time you get chance and remember to set the reminder so now let's see on 26th the live draw for raffle.
1257  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Solution to some challenges faced by bitcointalk members from developing nations on: September 24, 2022, 11:35:39 AM

Price of Starlink service could be expensive though for people who live on developing nations. Starlink pricing on Brazil roughly about $50, while on US it could be around $100.
And you also need to pay for the hardware which could be high and unaffordable for many in developing nations. At this time they are operational in around 32 countries and rest they are trying to expand and you can check here for your area and it will approximately cost around $100 /per month which can be high for people in such nations.

But If I speak about forum then it's designed in such a manner that it could load on slow internet connection also in optimised format and it will hardly take any load to show on your mobile phone so just need say internet connection on your device without paying for high rates broadband service to access the forum but can't say exactly that it will load fine on very poor connection.
1258  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me translate my best posts in your Local Board on: September 24, 2022, 11:22:00 AM
What am I thinking about on these days?
Thank you very much for making me notice it.
It happens sometimes as you are currently engaged in so many different activities on the forum itself and IRL task as well which could make us do these little mistakes but you know there's always back support on the forum to correct and notice it Wink

Just write here on the thread so we can coordinate the efforts.
Yes they must clearly specify here that which thread they are going to translate so as to avoid any double efforts that we have seen last time and others can know which they can choose. But it's good that you are giving them open choice with 50 merits limit so that only the effective one's reach out to the mass.

So, you can use the @ddmrddmr tool to determine which post/thread is eligible:

No need to wait for my approval.
The @DdmrDdmr merit dashboard is very much effective tool and we can tweak and optimise the search in many ways if we know how to do it but you have so many post with 50 above merit limit which is great and beleive how many others might be having the same stats?

You can read the review of Roobet here: http://100bookies.com/roobet-review/
We already know about Roobet being legit casino without any doubt and don't want to click on any links here.We have been around here on the forum from a long time and Roobet has proved and build the reputation in the market with so many options for players along with the promotion and events for the community to help them.So we know about it.
1260  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me translate my best posts in your Local Board on: September 23, 2022, 12:27:46 PM
This is correct. Using GT for translation is not allowed in the forum for translation services.
Also, as I said here on this thread, the thread he translated is very specific on a particular ATM service that is present in Italy and other several european countries. I would expect a translation only for any country where that service is present.
Moreover I would say that GT is not appropriate for big thread translation as it messes up the whole sentences and you have to rearrange them accordingly which makes no sense and if you have taken up the translation work you must be familiar with the language to mark the mistakes and present it correctly for the readers and done with efforts of your own.

Thanks to GazetaBitcoin, who was kind enough to provide us with another excelllent translation:

As usual excellent work by @GazetaBitcoin in translating the thread with that local touch even though I can't understand the language but it seems good efforts again.

But @fillippone your first link is actually directing towards the stock-overflow model so replace the original thread link with this one

So I see this thread is also going well with members contribution and spreading your post to different boards giving them access to knowledge on various topics so best of luck to you man as well for creating more topics in future.[/list]
