600$ is peanuts to get BTC with it.... You should buy into an altcoin at this point. And trade it against BTC so u can increase u'r BTC stash. Also you learn how to trade and how the market works. Also... alt season is near. Smiley

You forgot to recommend keeping all your keys in an online wallet service and always selling if the price falls by more than 50%. Altcoins and trading rulezzz!!!!

I can't believe we went all the way from under $30k to $34.5k in a day and couldn't quite hit a new ATH.
Amazing. Hey, remember when Bitcoin was in the 20s?

Yep. Early 2013.

I was still learning about dual-key cryptography and hashing and trying to figure if Bitcoin was a scam or not.

By the time I figured it wasn't, it was already over $30.

Pit stop over and re-accelerating.

At least we Canucks are back up to speed.

Stay clear of altcoins. Real Bitcoin is the least risky and has the greatest potential for large gains.

Just don't buy more than you can afford to hold for 5 years.

Thanks. Great idea for Day of the Dead.

Is this guy high? Is he an idiot or what?...

...He sounds to me like quack.

Yep.

He's just some TV/internet doofus. He has no real-world credibility.

Find some peace in these stressful pandemic times in beautiful nature....

and see the beauty before you.

Don't just see "Trees"

Each is an individual as individual as any of us, shaped by the world.

I sometimes just stand and gaze

Some see the trees. Others see the forest. Yet others see the lake.

And then some simply see the beauty of the whole.

Some see dollar signs and stumps.  Beware of Some  Grin

And some see Bitcoin wealthy retirement.  Cool

The bear trap has snapped completely shut... back up over $34k and close to another ATH.

What we saw was a great opportunity (maybe the last?) to buy under $30k.

Pity anyone foolish enough to sell.

And real estate is most certainly a worthy investment.  It might not grow like Bitcoin does, but you can actually stand/eat/sleep/build on it.

Nothing grows like Bitcoin does, but real estate does pretty well on the whole. As Mark Twain said, "Buy land, they don't make it any more".

Not only can you stand/eat/sleep/build on it, you can rent it out as a revenue source.

Its only drawback is if you incur debt to buy it. Pay cash or Bitcoin, and that's not a problem.
1353  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 05, 2021, 03:42:05 PM
Wow, so much hassle to apply for a visa in times like these. But I'm on a mission, these matter cannot wait -- I'm going real-estate shopping.

I've had a plan set up for years, and I'm sticking to it. But it's still bittersweet when some of those sell-orders kick in.

This is how I feel when I had to pull the sell-trigger

I feel confident though, nothing wrong with profit-taking. The majority of my coins are still in cold storage and not for sell in the forseeable future (if ever).

Don't think of it as selling Bitcoin. Think of it as buying real estate.

You're just spending a small amount of your Bitcoin profits.

What's the point of earning if you don't enjoy spending a little?

Good morning Bitcoinland.

One day of consolidation sideways so far after yesterday's big correction... currently $32188USD/$41088CAD (Bitcoin average).

A welcome breather before the continued onslaught of ATHs.

(Moderately) slow and steady wins the race.

Go Bitcoin go.

What if 31XXX is the new 6K ?

What if 31xxx is the new 23K ?
____

I keep typoing "Biycoin" and fixing the "Y".

Maybe I should be changing the first "I" to a "U".  Cool
1355  Economy / Speculation / Re: Correction has started? on: January 05, 2021, 09:10:30 AM
What I see is a healthy correction after too steep a rise (about $5k in a day), the establishment of new support at the old level of resistance ($30k) and consolidation in the low $3xxxx range.

The only real question is how long this consolidation lasts before continuing the bull run.

Quiet around here. Chartbuddy we miss you.

Just noticed I finally made got my 2000th merit. Stuck at 1999 for some time. Never begged nor even mentioned being close.

Thanks Philip.

Just another pit stop.

...Most people don't have the luxury or the time to wonder what you just wondered, as they're too busy with surviving.
You on the other hand - you're just comfortable in your shackles...

That's why I referred to debt slavery as an addiction in my post earlier.

It's like opiates after painful surgery. If you get comfortable with the opiates after the source of pain is gone, it's an addiction.

If you can teach yourself to bear or ignore the pain without using drugs, the battle is half won.

I know people who have never had a job who have lived successful lives.
1359  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 04, 2021, 06:32:54 PM
I'm strongly considering quitting my job, and doing something, anything else while living off crypto for the foreseeable future. This is the first day of work after a 2 week break, and instead of being "refreshed" and ready to work, all I can think is the break wasn't nearly long enough. Despite finding the work deeply unfulfilling, my job is stable and pays pretty well (a quick Google search says I'm in the top 97% within my state).

Probably the biggest thing holding me back is losing the structure that comes with the daily grind. I'm not completely confident I have the necessary self-discipline to create my own structure over the long-term, and while there are a lot of things I want to do (contribute to open source crypto software, write a novel, go back to school, etc), there's the non-zero chance I end up wandering aimlessly without purpose until wasting away.

Has anyone else gone through this or a similar thought process? This might be the only place (that I know of) with people who could relate.

Learning how to reassign your time is one of the biggest challenges of quitting an addiction like alcoholism, job slavery, or hard drug dependence.

You may have already realized the harm caused by your addiction and decided to quit but if you are accustomed to hanging out in bars or with cronies drinking, or working in some office or factory, or jonesing for your next fix, it takes an extra effort to learn how to use your extra time.

This is why quitting cold turkey without a plan isn't a good idea. Hobbies are a good start. Fun enterprises are even better. May as well get paid for having fun.

Mark Twain said, "work is what a fellow is obliged to do". If it's fun and optional, it's not work. It's a hobby.

May as well get paid for your hobbies.
______

BTW I've been job-free since 1976. Just  say no.

Not selling a sat until I need to. No targets. Will sell when I need to. And as much as I need to. Will not fill the bank with fiat. Already have some there and they are now worth less than when they were put there.

That's the spirit. Keep your profits in Bitcoin.

Get well soon!
