Yeah, I also like to see how Ukraine is played, but decided to go with logic, rather than emotions and picked Spain.

common sense is to put Spain, I have put England on likeability, they were winning all without conceiving goal, but overall Spain is favorite in potential finals too

will be an interesting round, a lot could be resolved during the week, especially in my duel with darxiomi where we have different answers on all YES/NO questions

my boy Norrie won first match, but I don't think he will see second week on tournament, except from audience

Is Norrie's second game schedule for the second week, because the Norrie's questions involves him winning his first two games, not reaching the second week like it was asked for top four 4 seeds, perhaps, your statement isn't related to the question asked, but just your making point, right ?

I put Sri Lanka and Scotland, without even knowing the games was scheduled for today, but unfortunately for me, I didn't put who will win the finals, it still has everything to do with me reading the questions or interpreting it wrongly, and maybe not understanding the sport well enough to know there will still be a final between them, because these are the two teams that said is left to make it the world cup because question go thus "7. Cricket World cup qualifiers are going on, 6 teams are left in qualifiers and 2 will make it to the World cup later this year in India. The question is which two teams will make it to the final of qualifiers and who will win it? Provide your answer in the following form: Sri Lanka,  Scotland - Sri Lanka. This is a H2H question." So my brain probably stopped functioning at the 6 teams are left and only 2 of them will make it to the World cup.

I like new sports, never heard of the names or even understand the cycling but it's a great famous sports, well done Cro2!

Cricket too lol you guys must have been seriously busy breaking brains!

can't complain, asked for cycling, got it there
it is really tough week looking at question comments, and would need a bit more time to answer it tomorrow

cricket is probably a no-zone for all participants

Aside from the cricket being my most hated sport, I still think about 8 of the questions looks quite easy to make a decision, there are certain cons that could it go from making the all No answers answers being a Yes outcome with very small unfortunate circumstances the reason for making go side ways.

For the cricket, I'm probably worse player that have no clue about that sport, although I've played in a paid cricket pool here before but I have zero clue about how the scoring is being counted or any other of it's rules of playing it.

Damn!

The draw still feel pretty much like a loss to me because, just snooping around this thread before submitting my pick would have totally change the outcome, but there's no point crying over spilled milk, finding out all possible info be any means necessary is part of the requirements of the competition.

Now, it's time to move on to the next round, which is playing against a very tough opponent in mitchr4 for the next round, I'm waiting for the questions already.

No way Inter will have a permanent deal with Chelsea, they don't have the money, and they are 1.3 billion in debt.

They only can have him again only on load, thats this.

Inter Milan scammed us out of €115m for Lukaku and now they won't pay up to €30m for the same player; dealing with these broke Milan clubs is insane; they only want to pump money from other clubs but pretend broke when it's their turn to pay. It is clear that they want to run him out of contract and get him for free while Chelsea receives nothing.

It's either pay or Lukaku stays. There will be no further loans.

I don't think they're broke or can't afford him, but they know he's already surplus to requirement at Chelsea, and the fault is that of no one but Chelsea, they were so indecisive with Romelu Lukaku, they had him at first loaned him out year in year out, until it was eventually sold to Everton, I believe that should that should have been the end his spell at Chelsea, Everton had the best version Lukaku for some years before cashing in on him with a deal to Man Utd, the fact that Lukaku didn't fully live up to expectation at Man Utd should have been a kind of signal for Chelsea imo, Man Utd sold for less than paid Everton for his service, just barely 2 years of good, but not so spectacular season at Inter, and there comes Chelsea again, head over heels for him and paid 3x as much they had sold him Everton for without proper thought of how well he'd fit in to their game plan. Inter Milan are just being smart enough to hold their ground and not fall for Chelsea's antics that have worked for them this season in the Transfer Market so far, and should Lukaku stay back at Chelsea, I'm sure they'll probably sell him for less than what they're asking off Inter Mlian.

We have some rumors this week about interest from Premier League in Mbappè.

PSG will do whatever they can to selling him there, they do not wants the player going to Real Madrid

I don't think PSG will be totally in the driving seat of making a deal happen, regardless of them being able to reach conclusion with a team and accepting a potential transfer fee, it's still going to be up to the player to also agree personal terms with the new club before a deal can be completed, I remember vividly the issue be Frenkie De Jong, Barcelona and Man United last summer, Barcelona did everything possible to sanction the deal, both teams reached a transfer fee very early into the transfer window, but Frenkie never wanted a moved to Man United and as such never reached personal terms with Man United hence Barcelona were force to have for another season, so all I can foresee is such scenario playing out between Mbappe and PSG, and PSG theatrics of holding players against their will to remain the club and whatnot is becoming a very evident and consistent issue, while they feel they have all the money lure any player away from their current club, It's probably just going to keep having a negative impact of their chances of get the biggest stars of the game henceforth, especially with their extremely flawed structure of what's expected of a supposedly top football team in Europe.
1367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 01, 2023, 11:05:12 PM
De Gea's contract with Man United has officially ended. And currently, de Gea is a free agent. Yes, Man United did not renew the MU goalkeeper's contract for several reasons. However, because he is currently a free agent, Man United can actually re-sign a contract with him. But I don't think this will be done by them. Moreover, they are currently eyeing several good and quite young goalkeepers like CostaCosta,  David Raya and others

Man Utd is keeping De Gea pending simply because they are hoping they can seal the deal on Onana from Inter. If it isn't successful, they might recall him back to the squad. De Gea has had a good run with Man Utd. I personally believe it's time for him to set sights somewhere else - probably in a different league other than Premier League and see the rest of his career there. Even Man Utd fans especially the ones I know personally wanted him gone 2-3 seasons ago.

I believe I some news about David De Gea being offered a new contract with wages reduction and he has supposedly signed it before leaving for the summer holidays, I can't remember the source of the news, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case, I don't think any big club in Europe would be making any move on getting De Gea even as a free agent and offer him anywhere near what he was earning at Man Utd 375k per week, as a 32 year old GK, especially now that coaches are prioritizing goalkeepers that are good with their feet and can help the team player out from the back conveniently.

I didn't know about the update Ferrari were going to brought for Austria GP while I was making my predictions here. Because of that I picked No for that question. However I'm at least lucky to have guaranteed my first win in the season finally. I can watch the Grand Prix more comfortably as of now.  Grin

As long as Ferrari don't mess up with the strategies at least of the drivers should be on podium. I expect that driver to be Leclerc of course. He might even be competitive for being the winner of the race but his job seems really difficult. Verstappen put another great show today in the sprint race.

Yeah, I really just hope they can mess things up, because a draw with Slackovic for this round would feel like a loss to me to be honest due to the fact that I got fucked over by the Tennis issue regarding De Minaur, but I just want to believe that what are chances he would reach the final, and of course win the trophy, because since Cerendulo made it to the final and won the first tournament, I’ve taken it in good fate because now it’s justified, it’s time to move on and look forward to the next round of fixture.

Wow, just saw the news that Damian Lillard has requested a trade out of Portland. I mean can you blame the guy? He’s been one of the best players in the league since he entered and has been one of the best shooters I’ve ever seen, dude is just a killer.

I can’t wait to see where he might go.

Fee VanVleet signing with Houston was an interesting one. Wanted him in Chicago badly.

Teams are going nuts with these trades honestly, and so are players, It's going to be a whole new team shuffling by the time the news seasons gets underway, it's literally going to take a while I adjust to these players and their news clubs.

I really can't blame Lillard, it's Dame time he tryout a new path for himself, and Blazers aren't doing well enough to give him a reason to keep trust the project, as for the Houston Rockets, I'll be keeping a huge tab on them for the season they look really highly prospective and a very young too, If they can keep the structure and players, VanVleet is gonna come in very handy for them honestly.

As for Damian Lillard, Heat is said to be preferred destination, that'd be a perfect place for him, I would have said Boston Celtic since they've already Marcus Smart out Lillard could come in as quite an upgrade in terms of points, but I'm not sure if they will be able to make an allocation within their salary cap to afford him.

....

I wasn't expecting an all out activity from Barcelona in this transfer window, but I indeed expect a couple of signing to complement the team's dynamism and fluidity especially after losing two senior member of the team, the transition period of the club is almost done, just a couple of transfer, a wing back, full back and then an extra player in the front line would bring the team to near perfection and almost fully ready for the new season as far as I can tell.

I see the differente odds here, right before the start. Since it is pratically all the other players disputing 2 places, it is more or less unpredictable.

I already won the 3 points this round but I'm still disputing a free bet, if the answer is NO I win the free bet too.

This is a different bet, It's sprint race which is different from the main event, I believe.

The sprint race is current on, while the main race is going to take place tomorrow.

Looks like we know the answer to that last question. Leclerc and Sainz have a chance to get to the podium because they are in the top 3 race positions. Cheesy

Does the racing position gives any advantage? And what's the chances of either of them not making to the podium? 2%?

I think it does racing position does give some form of advantage, prior to the qualifiers or it is test race it's being call, the odds for Leclerc to finish in the top 3 was well above 2.4 Odds, but now it's 1.60 odds the him not finish amongst the top 3 is valued 1.95 Odd.

When it comes to combination and permutation my mathematical skills isn't so great but for anyone that wants to know the chances here are the odds as at the time of this post;

To Finish On The Podium        Yes     |   No

1. Charles Leclerc                  1.6         1.95
2. Carlos Sainz Jr.                  2.2         1.37
3. George Russell                  11.0        1.07

According to the odds for other players, it's seem Leclerc is the best shot for those who picked, so unless Lewis Hamilton, Alonso and Sergio Perez can pull off some decent stunt, it's going to be a Yes to the question.

Looks like Serbia is gonna lose, 3/4 is good enough for me though. Grin Grin Grin Grin

Crazy stuff, Serbia is going to mess things up for me to get a perfect 4/4 there, already down by 29 points at half time, I don't think there is any coming back from this as far as I can tell, so me and Slackovic would share equal score here, but he'll need to win the F1 fixture to earn a draw, because I'm still having a point advantage, which just one question to go.

Looks like the same scenario between me and slackovic, the group stages ended exactly how I expected it to turn out and I have Turkey, USA, Serbia and Spain. and we only have Spain and USA as common pick and I already have the advantage with Turkey win against Canada, so the worse thing that could happen to me now is the question being a draw, and should Serbia win, I'm victorious for the week already.

Looks like you are gonna have to postpone your victory at least until the Sunday. If I win the F1 questions, I'll get a draw at best. And if I loše it, you are gonna win and I will mark another loss in the Div 1. It looks like the Div 1 is really tough. I do hope I will nit get relegated right away...

Yeah right, I was on the verge of submitting my post before the notification of a new post popped up and it was your post, I guess I was right after all, I was confident of Turkey winning but Serbia losing like this isn't something I foresaw at all.

Free Bets
*  There are 38 weeks in the season with the Yellow Cap winner(s) receiving a 3 mBTC Free Bet each week

Good for me, my opponent will only get 2 correct max (USA and either France/Serbia who play each other later). I already have one from Spain, so we will at worse, draw this question, giving me the victory this round.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have a deal for Mason Mount with Chelsea for 60mil

The deal it’s done weeks ago

Strange deal this one in my opinion. I really don’t think he’s that good. Maybe they think it’s good to have anotger homegrown player due to the rules around having a certain amount of English players in the squad.

I just don’t think he’s a great player, maybe the takeover isn’t as close as we’re led to believe because surely if Qatari owners with deep pockets were coming then better players would be targeted.

British tax

I'm a Chelsea fan, but aside from being a high presser, I'm not sure what Mount is really good at; we all thought he was going to be the next Lampard owing to the English media hype.

I'm sure if Chelsea hadn't been in danger of losing him for free next season, his asking price would have been higher. English players are prohibitively pricey.

My problem with Chelsea is that they often play their players out of position with different players playing together while having different ideas and I'm not sure of the last Chelsea coach that have a squad or starting xi, playing in their rightful position and having one specific goal or philosophy, Havertz playing as Centre forward was the height for me, and every Chelsea fans blames a fish for its inability to sing, Mason Mount is just another player that you really can't place a specific attribute to, unlike Havertz who is very technically good player imo, but as No 10, or just behind the striker, while I would rather play Mason Mount as a LM, because he might not be the best individual player, he's a very good team player and players like that really cannot be attributed to just one skillset, but are pivotal to a team's general chemistry. That's why most the new Chelsea signing haven't figure their shit out either, there need to be an adaptive game plan and general structure, not just having 11 players on the field leaving them to just go figure it out themselves.
1378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 29, 2023, 08:49:03 PM

~Snipped.

Arsenal are the big losers here in terms of amount paid, Chelsea paid 80m and Havertz have already played for 3 seasons at the club, Chelsea weren't desperate to keep Havertz and were looking to offload significant amount players, and I don't think Kai Havertz was an exception, but Arsenal appearing desperate is surely why Chelsea had needed to play hard to get, because Mason Mount to Man United deal is supposedly going back and forth for within the range of 50-55m, I don't understand why Havertz should be significantly costlier than even an English player (that are supposedly costlier due the hype/tax and whatnot) for Arsenal. I understand the age factor, but Man City had just signed Mateo Kovacic for just 25m from the same Chelsea, while Declan Rice with one year contract left on his contract (with an option of one year more) will cost them 100m or nothing.  Shocked

For a team that nearly clinched the PR title, I'm not surprised by their high level of activeness in this transfer market. I heard that Arteta is one of the driving forces of their current negotiations and signings. I believe he knows what he wants and will do what he needs to get the results he needs next season. I wouldn't say Havertz is top class player even though he was the deciding factor in Chelsea's victory against Man city in the champions league final in 2021. Congratulations and good luck to Arsenal.

It's worth noting that Arteta is strengthening only midfield and attack sections of his squad. Looks like a plan to me.

Arsenal and Arteta strengthening their squad isn't my problem but they're doing it ridiculously with paying these outrageous fees for players that aren't worth it or even had a spectacular season at least, paying such fees for Havertz who played in 35 of 38 matches for Chelsea this season but only scored 7 and assited only once, Eddie Nketiah off the bench was literally more productive than Havertz was last season, I'm not saying that makes him a better player than Havertz, but makes the outrageous fees Arsenal paid a dumb move, and now they're threading the same path with Declan Rice saga, Partey was a better DM than Rice was last season imo, and Arsenal would be better off not parting ways with over £100m plus addons for Rice, especially with his contract almost running out already at West Ham, and they could get for almost free next season, getting Declan Rice would not by any means increase their chances of winning the title race, imo opinion.

We can also make a trick question and intentionally give you a player that is likely to drop out due to injury. This is sports fanatics league and we expect you to know everything about every sport  Grin

Yeah, that's what I initially felt this was because there are some players that ones they are given options, they don't try to do any research hence giving their opponents an unfair advantage, that we all were against but for those that didn't both submit their picks, at least there is a player in this round that wrote just USA and Spain in the FIBA u19 question.

So, It would have been very fine with me if that was the case in this scenario, but that'd have meant you already knew he wasn't going to play hence making it unfair, but from the way the question was asked and I was sure that you guys had no idea De Minaur had withdrew even before question was posted here, so that's why it wasn't an issue with me at all, however, going forward including this type of question might to some players beat the idea of fairness because either of you who sets the specific question would have known the answer beforehand, so that's like being one question ahead already, which is why those type of questions might really not work, myself personally, is very much okay with such question since it's expected of every user to do their due diligence on each question, but then I'm not everybody, so I can only speak for myself.
1380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 7000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 29, 2023, 06:40:55 PM
I actual feel confident of my FIBA U19 predictions at the worse we'll get a draw on that I believe, but the F1 is a game of fate for me, and maybe I might finally get to watch my first F1 race that I'll full attention to, that's provided there is no Tennis game I prefer already scheduled for the same time.

About the news I don't think I can complain too much since a lot of players clamoured for it, so it's fine by me! A rule for one is a rule for all.

I hope there is a better solution like the form being editable until he deadline, but I don't know the possibility of that being feasible, and I agree this might be for the greater good, but I don't think I'm the only one who make some picks already after opening the form since progress are saved until I'm sure that I don't need to make any further changes before submitting.

And no, you are not the only one who chooses his picks when opening the form for the first time and then change saved answers later. I do it too.

That's my point because having made certain picks already and waiting until sometime early on Tuesday, it literally means we all aren't waiting for any further information that could influence our decisions.

So I'm not sure how that would affect me, because about the tennis issue, by the time I first opened the form and up until when I submitted pick he wasn't in the Bracket so, I just didn't know well enough that a player that isn't currently in the bracket is not participating in the tournament and the sites I quoted yesterday stated that he wouldn't start from the first round so I thought until is opponent was known, only then would he available in the bracket so that's on me and my knowledge of tennis, If I had waited for even one minute before deadline, I still wouldn't have come across his withdrawal information and it's most likely due to being an ATP 250 tour was why the news wasn't an easy reach as at Monday and very early Tuesday, because I did check more than 5 times. I'm just trying to reiterate that me choosing De Minaur was never a case of how early or late I submitted my picks, it's rather about how familiar I was with Tennis rules regarding player withdrawal, I've never witnessed a player withdrawing that early with almost zero information about it, or I sure do usually find them in the bracket with the withdrawal or walkover/retired status but now I've got a very clear knowledge of it, I'm very sure!, and the same can be said for people who have in the past picked players that were to meet in the QF or earlier as their semi finalist answers, while that could be seen as playing it safe to get at least one answer right if 2 highly ranked/seeded players fall in the same bracket category in early rounds, but what about someone picking players from different tournament last week ?

In essence, I like how much efforts the CRO2 team are putting into this competition, making it better by every opportunity that arrives, and I hope there wouldn't be any further complications caused by this implementation of VAR.

EDIT: And for a slight suggestion: At the end of the season if there are players that cannot be separated points, SD, SA, H2H and other criteria that are already defined, should the player with the less VAR used have the edge ?
