Who cares, he's a nobody.  This is just one of friends/alt account to make people think anyone gives a shit.  Same old attention whore.

Actually he was/is an awesome guy, and a key part of the bitcoin community.

Awesome, I'll test that out a little later today, all going well, you'll have that btc soon.

Aren't there fines for the bank going against the courts decion? So the bank would rather pay fines and dissobey a court order than give you guys a bank account?
1364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why noagendamarket left. on: September 04, 2011, 01:55:12 PM
IMHO, he was a bit of a fool for thinking he can provoke a mass of trolls on Twitter. Trolls and hackers, when in large groups, no matter how unskilled or foolish you think they may be - it's best to "play dead" or ignore them. If you turn it into a battle of egos, the mob's always going to win.

Having said that, some of the shit said about his family members was deplorable. If the trolls are so convinced they have the logical high-ground anyway, why the need for personal attacks and/or threats (well, I suppose threats is a case of tit for tat with NAM, but still)?

noagendamarket was my friend, his name wasn't bruce (although that would have been funny being as he's in Australia), and was an awesome guy.
1365  Economy / Services / Re: 2 Jobs at GLBSE, one for Javascript and one for Ruby on: September 02, 2011, 08:02:10 PM
I'll do the Liberty Reserve gem.
It'll be ready sunday at 8 PM GMT.

Sure go for it,  make sure it includes tests and usage docs.
1366  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: hypothetically speaking.. ..would you invest in my company with bitcoins? on: September 02, 2011, 02:35:10 PM
So what are you offering? Kind of need to know what proportion of the royalties are going to be going to GLBSE shareholders. IS it just for this release or from here on. If it's long term then all your shareholers can be put on GLBSE and mangaged though that.

It also does require that you be very open with accounting and such. I think for the fact that you've already got something close to completion (i.e. this isn't just an idea) is going to be a really big selling point. I think that GLBSE should be able to raise the needed amount of funds if financially it looks ok.

More details available here https://glbse.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=19

The Ruby one is worth $1500 worth of bitcoin, but the Javascript one is more long term.

Having issues paying out dividends, I have contacted Nefario about it so it should be fixed soon.

Again? Not pointing fingers in your direction this time Wink KJust wondering how unstable GLBSE is in this regard. Not the first time issues arised.

GLBSE is very very stable, I test the crap out of it before releasing any changes. The problem is that Tawsix was using an older version of the command line client, and has been offline so long that he missed all the notifications about the update.

Once he updates it'll work fine.

Nefario.

Ah, ok Wink

I hope yuo ramp up the web interface soonish Wink So a command line client is not necessary anymore.

Yeah it's not needed anymore, it's just kept for people who prefer using it over the web interface. Web interface is working just fine.

If anyone likes using the command line version, we're going to keep supporting it for the forseable future.

I recommend the bitcoin sub-reddit- http://www.reddit.com/r/bitcoin

theymos is the mod there, so you can expect the same lax policy as here.

Also Eternal September has hit this forum.

Hey stevendobbs,

Getting started using glbse as a share buyer is easy and we're working on making it easier. Our problem is that when we started we said we were going to make it secure (and it is/was), and have then slowly over time made it easier to use. Most other websites start the other way around and only begin making things secure after they've had a breakin (or a couple of them).

If you need any help getting starting just send me an email, and you might head over to the glbse.com/forums/ for any specific questions, that's where the community for that sort of thing is.

1372  Other / Meta / New account on bitcoin.org.uk on: September 01, 2011, 02:35:42 PM
I've got the account nefario on bitcoin.org.uk, which is where I will be spending most of my time for bitcoin related conversation. I'll still be using glbse.com's own forums for glbse related business though.

1373  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Buy shares NOT on: September 01, 2011, 01:34:39 PM
Indeed.

If he resumes dividents, my reaction will stop selling my shares Wink

Thus changing the share value.

Not really, he can continue paying dividends until he's done and then just declare the asset worthless.

Just for that I'm not sending the donation to your "My baby ate a dingo" charity.

I'll try to put my time to good use on GLBSE, got a lot to get done with that site :s
1376  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Social Network on: August 31, 2011, 06:09:23 AM
Anon Plus is already in testing phase......FYI.
http://anonplus.bombshellz.net/files/Dev%20update%208-4-2011.pdf

About time something innovative got released to bitcoin instead of another concept with less than 5 minutes of thinking done on it.

Yeah I've already been onto the anon+ guys, they're not doing a web based system, they're prefering to re-invent the wheel with a distributed one that requires an installation (why use this when retroshare is available).

Simple because it will require users to install something it's not going to get much of a critical mass IMO.

I would think any kind of system that was going to be useful, get critical mass to get a network effect would have to be no install and web based.

1377  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: UK exchange: Britcoin on: August 31, 2011, 06:03:28 AM
I would like to second the words of Vlad, Britcoin (and the other sites run by the same guys, intersango.com and intersango.us) is great.

They have by far the most professional exchange operation running in the bitcoin world and customer service second to none (good luck getting so much as a reply from MtGox if something goes wrong).

I had a large transaction done a couple of weeks ago, I had a couple of issues (my own fault) and they sorted it out pronto. They also take security seriously, unlike most other exchanges.
1378  Other / Off-topic / Re: Moderated Bitcoin Forums? on: August 30, 2011, 06:03:03 PM
I could not pass it by and not shamelessly plug this:

https://bitcoin.org.uk/ is a up and coming collaboration platform for everything related to "block chain and proof of work" technologies,  naturally including Bitcoin.

We are on the first page for google's "bitcoin forums" already and moving up. What's more important is that my goal here is to get a business friendly board going and it will be moderated. It is also a full featured advanced forum platform already and more improvements and clean up is being worked on.

For example, you could get your own subforum(s) here (PM me) and be able to moderate your subforums as you see fit. There are also plans to come up with while label setup eventually and possibly even with openAuth/openID API to enable even deeper integration with participating businesses. We already support twitter auth. You can see, for example, how MMC pool is using it at the moment at https://bitcoin.org.uk/mmc and https://mining.mainframe.nl/forum .

Kind Regards,
Vladimir.

I would say this is probably you're best option, Vlad has been here since very early on and is very professional.
1379  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: EUROPEAN BITCOIN CONFERENCE 2011, PRAGUE NOV 25-27 on: August 30, 2011, 04:12:11 PM
GLBSE, The Bitcoin Stock exchange is sponsoring this event (along with others), we're going to have a speaker ....speaking (sadly not me).
I'm really grateful to worldly who has put a lot of effort into this (and is continuing to do so), and we're really looking forward to it.
