141  Local / India / Re: Instead of a ban, India may turn cryptocurrencies into a commodity on: July 13, 2018, 06:28:54 AM
Hey, that's a great update!! hopefully, they can create something like that as it would help bitcoin with trust.
I'm sure GST is coming to Bitcoin. I'm worried about the tax slab.

Rather than the tax slab, what matters more to the Bitcoin community is certainty in policy. The RBI wakes up one fine day and decides to get banks to squeeze bitcoin exchanges. The government seems to frame committees but does nothing beyond that. No long term focus or policy direction.
142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 12, 2018, 06:40:35 PM
India won the toss and elected to field. Eng are 105/4 in 19.2 overs. England started well and lost quick 3 wickets after 70 runs which was picked up by Kuldeep Yadav. India would be happy till now considering the start England had got. They would like to restrict England to less than 300 runs as this is the same pitch where England made 480 runs.
England is in trouble they lost 5 wickets for 212 runs Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali is batting i don't think in 7 overs they can score 70+ runs. I think max to max they can score 280 runs target. Indian batting line up is very strong they can easily chase this target.
England got all out for 268 runs excellent bowling from kuldeep yadav he took 6 wickets. India need 106 runs to win this match 9 wickets in hand and 25 overs left i think India will win this match.

SL vs SA looks like this test match will end within 4 days. day 1 stumps SL got all out for 287 runs and SA 4/1, this is completely oneman show Dimuth Karunaratne made 158 runs not out.

India completed their thrashing of England in just over 40 overs. The result was more or less decided when England could manage only a total of 268. But the Indian batsmen stamped their dominance by chasing down the total quickly.
143  Local / India / Re: Instead of a ban, India may turn cryptocurrencies into a commodity on: July 11, 2018, 07:25:09 PM
A very sound and great choice by the Indian government, THey said they didn't even think about banning cryptos at all but they wanted to regulate so that they would know the source of the funds being used in cryptos.

It is speculation about the Indian government’s intentions, nothing more and nothing less. What we do know is that the Reserve Bank’s move to cut banking links for Bitcoin exchanges has effectively stunted Bitcoin in India. It will take some time before the government actually manages to reverse this.
144  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-10] Joseph Stiglitz says BTC could drop to 100$ on: July 11, 2018, 07:03:08 PM
This reminds me of Professor Bitcorn, who famously predicted that Bitcoin will trade for under $10. It is next to impossible to get Bitcoin’s price right, but these so called experts go ahead and make outrageous predictions. History will not be kind to them.
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that other coins move faster? on: July 10, 2018, 06:09:33 PM
It seems bitcoin is one of the slowest crypto currency. Ephyrium works much faster and will work even faster after important updates.Soon will appear meinnet at EOS and I will be interested to see its speed, communicate that it will exceed the weight of expectation

The OP talks about slowness in decision making. But sometimes, decisions cannot be taken on contentious issues. That is one reason why we have had multiple forks in the last year or so. This method of developing consensus does not suite everybody.
146  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018/07/10]Indian Crypto Exchanges Forge Ahead With Solutions to RBI Ban on: July 10, 2018, 05:44:42 PM
The ‘solutions’ which are being talked about are not solutions at all. They are in effect crippling changes to their business model. For all practical purposes, first time buyers of Bitcoin cannot use these exchanges. They have to depend on peer to peer sellers.
147  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 Cryptocurrency Crash (Elliott Wave) on: July 09, 2018, 09:09:42 PM
Hmm... Seems like your math is not getting better over time... Lets hope your predictions are as 'good' as your math skills.

This 'analysis' is looking like being science-based (much numbers, so graphs, wow), but it is completely subjective, and carries clear traces of wishful thinking. Well, most people in these markets exhibit wishful thinking now - mostly bulls and hodlers (which WO thread is full of), of course, but bears and hatersskeptics too. I assume OP considers himself to be an objective non-emotional player, but he isn't. People tend to lie even to themselves. Some see Bitcoin as a treat to the system they like and got used to, they want to see that 'treat' eliminated - and in this specific case that internal wish reflects itself in crash predictions and all those pretty graphs drawn in this thread.

Being short on Bitcoin implies no ownership; and hence by extension, rules out any emotional attachment including confidence, belief and trust —it is perhaps the most objective trade!

On the contrary, it is an emotional trade - a trade to prove cryptocurrency holders wrong. During the bull run, even the most staunch skeptics like Jamie Dimon said they wouldn't short Bitcoin. Shorting bitcoin is not a trade that a rational investor would do - it is way too risky.
148  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-09] Half of ICOs Die Within Four Months After Token Sales Finalized on: July 09, 2018, 08:24:35 PM
It would help if you provide the link as well.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-07-09/half-of-icos-die-within-four-months-after-token-sales-finalized

People know that ICOs are extremely high risk (if not outright scams). But they still go ahead and invest because of greed. If you do not get out at the right time, you can lose all your money in these scammy ICOs.
149  Economy / Speculation / Re: 71% of e-money forecasts will increase significantly in 2019 in Huobi's report. on: July 09, 2018, 03:40:04 PM
It would be very good if this happens, I think that after the current turbulence in the economy has passed, there will be more appetite for risk, and this is sure to bring new investors to market.

What happened in 2017 was a mania, nothing less. It would be tough to get that kind of demand now, even if risk appetite increases. At best, what we can expect is marginal increases in price; not the doubling and tripling that were the norm in 2017. Investors should be satisfied with that.
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 09, 2018, 03:11:15 PM
1st match of tri-series between Zimbabwe and Pakistan will begin in about 6 hours. This one will probably be one-sided and Pakistan should be able to win easily, however, the next match between Pakistan and Australia will surely be very interesting.

Yup, Pakistan is an unpredictable team but they should be able to easily beat Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe have failed in the recent past to even qualify for the ODI World Cup. They finished behind Afghanistan. They have a new captain, who will try to get the team back into order.
Cricket has entered in tough situations as we know about Australia vs England matches few days ago in which England beat Australians with 5-0 and clean sweep in tournament indicates that Australians are not well now. They have no strong players as they lost strong players in tempering issues. Now Zimbabwe and Pakistan both are good teams but Pakistan will win because this is the team of experience players and have more chances of wining.

Even if Australia were missing a couple of their batsmen, even if they were whitewashed by England in the ODI series, an Australian team is not easy to beat. Full marks to Pakistan who came out top in this encounter. Pakistan seem to have evolved into a very good limited overs side.
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Indian exchanges have announced that no crypto-fiat exchanges will be allowed . on: July 09, 2018, 02:18:24 PM
They have no choice. With the RBI pulling the plug on banking relationships, they could only offer crypto-crypto exchanges from now onwards. But here they have a huge disadvantage - how can they compete with other crypto-crypto exchanges like Binance? If they cannot solve the fiat problem, they will die a slow death.
152  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-09]Crypto Bounty Hunting Is Offering A Way Out of Poverty on: July 09, 2018, 01:43:26 PM
Crypto bounty hunting may get you a few dollars, but if you are in poverty, it is going to be very difficult to get these dollars. You need to be computer literate, have an internet connection - that itself might put you in the middle class in most developing countries. The poor will be worried about where the next meal is coming from, not about bounties offered on the internet.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 08, 2018, 06:43:19 PM
Hi, can somebody explain me what is this? I'm trying to send my blacbytes from freebee and getting this:

This error is explained in the wiki as ‘smart contract conditions not fulfilled’. So have a look at the smart payment freebe created in your wallet, something seems to be wrong there!

might be a suggestion for tony to make errors less programatic by nature and more human readable based on fail condition. would go a long way to increasing user friendliness. humans make a lot of mistakes at the best of times

That is true. Most programmers tend to focus on what happens when things go well, rather than when what happens when things go wrong. But Byteball has one of the best UIs amongst the various alts. There definitely is a focus on user-friendliness.
154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 08, 2018, 05:55:40 PM
India have won their third T20 match against England. The England batsmen couldn't get around the Indian spinners in the first 2 matches, but here they finally figured out how to play them and scored 198. This is generally a good score in T20, but the Indian batsmen crossed the target with ease. Rohit Sharma scoring a brilliant century.
155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Belgium has 8 Bitcoin ATM machines on: July 08, 2018, 09:58:26 AM
The criteria is pretty simple
How many people with knowledge and money think that installing an ATM will give them profit, nothing more.

It has nothing to do with the economy or the size of the country.
For example, France has just 2 listed there while Kosovo 4....

It definitely has something to do with how friendly the country's regulations are. If the country is supportive of Bitcoin, then it is possible that companies may look at the profit motive and set up bitcoin ATMs. If not, they wouldn't want to cross the government's path. You would have very few ATMs being set up.
156  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018/07/05]5 Countries Establish Group to Fight Cryptocurrency Tax Crime on: July 08, 2018, 09:22:05 AM
Previously, off shore tax accounts were the favourite way to hide wealth from governments. With banks now toeing the lines of governments and governments exchanging information amongst each other, this method has been effectively closed. Cryptocurrencies offer a way out. Governments may get together and exchange information about cryptocurrencies, but unless you identify yourself at an exchange, there is nothing they can do.
157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 07, 2018, 08:35:52 PM
I agree Indians will struggle to play in fast tracks but now the team is changed the young blood will play in any kind of pitches I think in the next match you will surprise by seeing Indian performance. even in this match also England does not win easily if India managed to add 10 or 20 runs more I think they may lose this match. anyway, now this series is equal 1-1 next match will be interesting.

The weather and pitches in England pretty much resemble the subcontinent now. England is sweltering at 30+ degrees heat. I wouldn't be too surprised if India won the third T20 match and took the series.
The real battle will come in the test series. This will be a long drawn fight, five test matches stretching over the entire summer.
158  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018/07/04]Head of Russia’s Top Bank: the State Will Keep ‘Centralized Role’. . on: July 07, 2018, 08:28:57 PM
The issue with Banks and crypto will be a long-term debate for years. Anyways I think we can both coexist very well if the regulations are set right. Well, the future will clear the air for us.

Banks won't be comfortable in a world where fiat and cryptocurrencies co-exist. And since they are in bed with the regulators, they can ensure that regulations don't enable the growth of cryptocurrencies.
159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 06, 2018, 07:36:43 AM
Bangladesh’s hopes of becoming a serious cricketing nation seem to have taken a hit. They are struggling against West Indies. They have lost half their side in the second innings and seem headed to a heavy innings defeat. And it is just day two of the test match!!
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 05, 2018, 07:15:26 PM
The platform is rock solid. It's one of the most feature complete platforms around. Price on an exchange doesn't change that.
Yes, the price does change a lot of things.
Lower price directly indicated people going out of the currency and hence hampering the  growth of the platform that again makes people leave thus creating a viscious cycle of death for the coin (something like doge).

The only thing that the lower price does is change the distribution. You must realise that the bytes distributed through various mechanisms would in most cases be sold at the exchanges. That doesn’t change the potential of Byteball one bit.
