1141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Zcash Worth Over $5000? on: April 11, 2017, 04:11:04 PM
zcash have a very high emission rate now, look at the block time and reward, and value, the emission is crazy high, 10 coins x 576 block day x 0.05 btc each one, this is almost 300 btc per day and only etheruem have a higher rate than this, but the value of zcash isn't that high, in fact zcash is not among the first 10 coins on coinmarketcap and only with 66M of marketcap

The rate of increase is similar to what Bitcoin had in its early days. The total number of coins will be 21 million, which makes it comparable to Bitcoin. The downside is Zcash's price is high in terms of bitcoins, and this results in a mental block for some people.
1142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 06, 2017, 03:55:25 PM
Klopp got way too defensive after we took the lead. Should've put on Sturridge and tried to kill the game off instead. It's not like we're any good at defending, after all.

The last time liverpool meet bournemouth, klopp still playing offensively when already up 3-1, then bournemouth made the comeback 3-4, fans blaming klopp for not going defensive. This time you up 2-1 and got defensive, bournemouth even up the score and klopp still blamed for not playing offensive. Embarrassed

Liverpool has always played well when they fight a great team, but when against not a great team, their game is always worse.
I was also disappointed my parlay lost just because of Liverpool " http://prnt.sc/et4smj " While a few minutes toward the end they almost win! quite painful!

Liverpool managed to recover from an early goal and held on to the lead for most of the game. The draw against Bournemouth has certainly dented their chance of catching up with Chelsea. They must be disappointed with this result.
1143  Economy / Speculation / Re: This massive price increase in seconds shows us something on: April 06, 2017, 03:52:31 PM
1 btc = 10K at the end of the year, and 100 K at in 2020. Confirmed. No i dont use facts , look at the f**king chart

this will happen, but only if the blocksize debate is settled once and for all.

As soon as the debate is finished it's immediately (within a month, maximum) 10k.

While I hoped that people would get tired of debating the blocksize indefinitely, this doesn't seem to be the case. Unfortunately, the price of Bitcoin will be restrained until this comes to an end.
1144  Economy / Speculation / Re: Google says 1 BTC is worth 1 386 969$ on: April 03, 2017, 12:06:28 AM
Google confused it for thousands. It's fine for me at the time of this post.
If it's still broken for you, try using the comma (,) instead.

Google didn't confuse. The European standard is to use decimals (.), whereas the English / American standard is to use commas.
If the conversion was into USD instead of EUR, the OP would have got the correct answer.
1145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin has potential. Beyond $50? on: April 03, 2017, 12:03:30 AM
Not sure if you are closely following SW's activation on Bitcoin, but there are additional 7% of world's hashrate (which is like 10k times x top 500 supercomputers computational power combined), which are now signaling it in the past 144 blocks. So 45% of the miners are signaling SW as we speak...

I wouldn't place too much emphasis on this. This has varied wildly.
Support for SW's activation on Bitcoin in the last 144 blocks (at this point in time) is only 30%.
1146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Positive news from Ripple (XRP) on: April 02, 2017, 11:59:16 PM
What concerns me about these types of articles is they often specifically go out of their way not to mention if it involves a private blockchain or something that is publically available. Ethereum has been using that type of deception where many of the articles turn out to be referencing a private chain; but, the announcement is used to pump the public chain. The wording of this article suggests to me that it has nothing to do with the public XRP.

It's unfortunate that this type of deception has become commonplace.

Yes, Ripple is the latest coin to find flavour with the pumpers and dumpers.
The rally seems to be amazing, but it is best to stay away.
1147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 02, 2017, 11:53:47 PM
It was a great game between Arsenal and Man City, as a Man City fan I was pleased at the way the team played and was hoping they could get the win for a chance to catch Chelsea but a draw was better then a loss. Sane played a great game and so did Aguero who maybe shouldn't scored another goal but it wasn't to be.

Arsenal's form seems to be improving. Nice come back from an early goal behind to draw the match. There is all this negativity around Wenger as well...
Aguero missed not one, but two chances. If he had managed to covert them, it would have been a comprehensive victory for Man City.
1148  Economy / Speculation / Re: People selling alts to go back in BTC on: April 01, 2017, 05:04:14 AM
It happens all time, when bitcoin trend goes down some traders move to alts, and now bitcoin price goes up they sell alts and return to bitcoin.

I do not think so. The proportion of bitcoin in the total digital currency is still dropping now.

That is correct. If you look at the top 100 alts before the big alt pump, the 100th alt had a market cap of around $1Mn,
Now they are trading at around double that. The alt dump is far from over.
1149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 01, 2017, 05:01:20 AM
I tend to agree with everyone on here that Chelsea will now win the Premier League and that the other 3 spots on the table are up for grabs. As I am a Man City fan I'm hoping they can finish in the top 3 and qualify for the Champions League next season. I actually think Man Utd will sneak into the top 4 and maybe knock out Liverpool as they have 2 games in hand and are only 4 points behind, it will be tough for Man Utd but something is telling me that they make the top 4 this season.

Chelsea are 10 points ahead with 10 games to ago. Although there is a mathematical chance that they may not finish on top. it looks unlikely. Second spot is witnessing keen competition with Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool all pretty close to each other. The battle will heat up from now onwards.
1150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Pascal is getting warmed up. Very close to a breakthrough. on: April 01, 2017, 04:55:51 AM

Seems like the pump and retreat happened. I doubt if anything like what happen when it was listed on Poloniex, will ever happen again.
So no more rockets, only minor pumps.
1151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: April 01, 2017, 04:53:24 AM
great chance to sell here... we didnt touch bear target yet on the long term chart.

I agree. The pump is more to do with sentiment rather than anything else. We should use it as a selling opportunity.
Segwit is nothing to be excited about, when the transactions are so low.
1152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BU started/starting? on: March 27, 2017, 01:14:28 AM
BU alredy endede. No reason for them to fork as they be alt not real BTC like they wanted. Also they can fork at any time, not that they need to be over 51% of Hash

They can fork at any time, but that would make it pointless.
The hard fork will be triggered only when they have substantially over 50% of the hash rate. (Although some miners may be tempted to trigger it as soon as they cross 50%). What the hash rate really tells us is the support they have amongst the miners for increasing block size. This should be a wake up call for Bitcoin Core as well.
1153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coins to invest in for future use rather than pump and dump on: March 27, 2017, 01:12:03 AM
Of those options, BitBay has the most homerun potential, imo.

For other options:

Look at PIVX if you have some time, it's definitely legit and staying around.

ZCash, ICN, and NEM I think all have long term application.

And obviously Ethereum is going nowhere but WAY up if you want a safer, but less explosive, growth play.

I agree with Bitbay. It has some past history, but the issues are now behind us.
It is available pretty cheaply too, for a coin that has been around for years.
1154  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin plunges currently at $929! on: March 27, 2017, 01:04:02 AM
I exchanged for dollars. Waiting the bitcoin fall a bit more to reorder.

I'll hodl til 10k then I'll sodl, if we ever get there.

My strategy is similar but in terms of time. I will hold till 2025 and then sell.
I am betting that after we get over the next halving, Bitcoin will go to the moon. These minor fluctuations don't worry me.
1155  Economy / Speculation / Re: Have you heard Roger Ver? on: March 26, 2017, 12:13:58 PM
i think its silly...

core could simply do an honest to goodness BS incress to 2MB instead of 2mB "effective block size" + sig discount ( LN will produce massive sigs without sig dicount LN fees would be higher then BTC fees to boot )

and 80% of the wind backing BU would die down.

If Core does decide to increase the block size, it will mean a back down from their current position. And big egos won't allow them to do that. We wouldn't be sitting here debating the block size if Core was not so rigid.
1156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Correct me if I am wrong on: March 26, 2017, 12:06:44 PM
I am trying to launch a coin.

My question for the members of this community is this

Does it make more sense to do a ICO or to take a 15%-20% premie and sell them as you need funds for the project.  It seems one can't go right.  You have a ICO and people roll their eyes, you do a premie and people call pump and dump.

What is the best way if you want to further develop your coin

Thank you all.

A pre-mine at least shows that you are vested in the project for the medium term (as long as you don't exit fully), Plus if the project really takes off, you don't have to sell the entire stash of pre-mined coins that yo have.
1157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum is not worth $40. Who else is shorting? on: March 26, 2017, 12:04:18 PM
Im just sad that i didnt buy more eth when it was around 12 dollars . All the eth haters are funny everyone who shorted at 40 s will be pissed now

There are a lot of people who regret that. Ethereum was under $1 for a long time and it just looked like it will go bust.
People had the opportunity to buy at that price, not long ago.
1158  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying More Bitcoins on: March 25, 2017, 03:55:04 PM
Bitcoin just hitted the bottom and now it's going up again. If you haven't bought more bitcoins to this moment, do it now or you will regret it one week later. Wink
On Mar 30 there will be another ETF denial and then the price will rocket to its previous hights again or even above it. Cool

I doubt if the market is reacting to ETF news any more. We are back to discussing the scaling issue and whether or not BTU will trigger a hard fork. The real moonshot will come when the scaling debate is behind us and there is no possibility of a fork.
1159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: March 25, 2017, 03:53:06 PM
Sometimes a change is welcomed and I think Arsene Wenger should let go of Arsenal and either retire or look around for a job at a less demanding club. He has done a lot for Arsenal and the fans must be thankful for this but some new fresh blood is needed in the management position.
I don’t know man. If wenger retired everytime they had a bad season he wouldn’t be here. Do not forget that football is a business before anything. Owners and shareholders of a company looks only at the profits.

Arsenal has been finding young talent, improving them and selling for higher price ever since Wenger start working there.

Yes, winning championship is the most profitable way but as long as they are growing constantly as a club and making profit maybe owners won’t care if they are more successfull or not.

Wenger has attracted a lot of negative press. He has been called selfish and the way he runs the club has been called dictatorial.
You start to wonder if somebody else would be welcome at Arsenal.
1160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum is not worth $40. Who else is shorting? on: March 25, 2017, 03:31:05 PM
Being the number 2 in market cap, people see it as a safe haven for the BTC/BTU discussion. I expect ETH to rise even more in near future.

That might be true, but there is a price beyond which it looks overvalued. And I think that price has already been attained.
Even with all the BTC/BTU uncertainty, people might shift to other alts because ETH is overvalued.
