1401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [INFO]Hong Kong's HSBC Allows Customers to Trade Bitcoin. on: June 28, 2023, 01:35:59 AM
It is head shaking that uncle Gary, the SEC and the American government are cracking down on the cryptospace while a communist country like China are slowly allowing it through Hong Kong as the go between.
~snip~

I don't see any point in your post given that futures BTC ETF has been around in the US for some time, and HK is a special administrative region of China, and therefore what happens in HK cannot be an indicator that China has changed its attitude towards Bitcoin in any way.

In addition, the bank in question was not so long ago at the center of financial scandals and is considered one of the most corrupt banks in the world, but everyone seems to have forgotten that.

I wouldn't look forward to anything that has anything to do with China when it comes to Bitcoin, and I don't get anyone who thinks that communism and anything to do with decentralization and human freedom can succeed in one such country.

I am not arguing, I am only saying that China is slowly opening their borders for the cryptospace through Hong Kong as the go between and I think this is a positive development compared to the crackdowns being done by uncle Gary. There is more news besides the Hong Kong ETF article that already shows this.

Also, about ETFs in America, futures ETFs that were already approved are different from spot ETFs. Spot ETFs invests in real Bitcoin.

In any case, I predict that China will also open Shanghai for the cryptospace by 2026. It might not be something open to any coin. Only whitelisted coins might be allowed to trade which will certainly include Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Tornado Cash 2.0: The race to build safe and legal coin mixers

New coin mixers aim to preserve privacy while revealing just enough data to stay on the right side of the law.

One of the most amusing U-turns I have witnessed to date.  Grin
I see where this trend is headed, First wasabi wallet and now tornado.cash?
What will we see next? A mixer that KYC's its users just to be sure they are not “laundering” money?

That's the death of the IMO. I would rather use a privacy leaning coin.

I reckon they have no choice after witnessing what the government could do after the imprisonment of Tornado Cash developer Alexey Pertsev. He did not do anything wrong, however, he was charged with fake cases of moneylaudering and tax evasion. They only wanted to hold him in custody for the purpose of fear tactics because the government clearly wants to discourage developers from writing code that increases anonymity and privacy.

The trial against Tornado Cash developer Alexey Pertsev inches closer, but it won’t be this year.

In a hearing in the Dutch city of Den Bosch today, a district court ruled Pertsev will face money-laundering charges for his role with the crypto mixer next year at the earliest.

No trial date has been scheduled, but the calendar is full for the rest of 2023, the court found.

Crypto watchers and privacy advocates are expected to pay close attention to the case, which could determine the future of developers’ culpability in the projects they help design.

“If this is a prosecution based solely on writing code that other people misuse, then it’s a really important case because many, many people write code that other people might use for good or bad purposes,” Cindy Cohn, executive director of digital rights group Electronic Frontiers Foundation, told DL News before the hearing.

She said she is frustrated over prosecutors’ failure to provide “clarity to the millions of people around the world who are worried that they might actually be at risk” because of their contribution to other open-source projects.

This might be a case very much similar to Julian Assange but less serious.
1403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 27, 2023, 04:37:15 AM
There were news that Deontay Wilder has set the contract to the camp of Andy Ruiz Jr.

And Andy seems to have responded already based on that and said that yes, there is negotiations going on and he is coming after the Bronze Bomber. So let's see, hopefully the earlier the better for this to happen.

Because there is also news floating around that AJ vs Wilder in December. And Francis Ngannou said that he also have a fight with Wilder after December.

https://twitter.com/calfkickercom/status/1669903199199690753

I heard conflicting news. Eddie Hearn confirmed in one of his interviews that Deontay Wilder will fight Anthony Joshua on December.

Also, it would be a mistake if Francis Ngannou fought Wilder, I reckon. Ngannou's team should negotiate for a fight vs. Tyson Fury.  It will be the biggest money he can get while the hype is still alive. If Ngannou fights Wilder for a smaller amount and loses, this will kill the hype and all interest for Fury vs. Ngannou will die.

In any case, there is also some rumors that Ryan Garcia will fight Rolly Romero in September if the contracts are signed this month.
1404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Mining Firm Riot Secures 33,000 New Rigs for $162 Million on: June 27, 2023, 04:25:44 AM
Another bullish news alongside the speculation that a bitcoin spot ETF is coming.

This should appear to us that what everyone calls the smart money are preparing for the next bull market which the cryptospace might already be on the starting line. Does everyone remember the chart where they marked the different market stages with euphoria, fear, capitulation, depression, hope and disbelief? We might be in disbelief hehehehe.

Many people in the forum say that we are still not in a bull market, however, the actions of Blackrock and big mining companies like Riot Platforms tell us that it is now the right time to invest.

Riot Platforms—one of the largest Bitcoin mining companies in the world—is set to boost its hashrate capacity to new heights after purchasing 33,280 mining rigs from MicroBT, a leading manufacturer of the machines needed to mine new coins.

The Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) order adds up to $162.9 million, making it a standout purchase even among a slew of similar investments from competing firms this year. The machines themselves, however, aren’t scheduled for delivery until December 2023, and won’t be deployed until the first quarter of 2024.

It is head shaking that uncle Gary, the SEC and the American government are cracking down on the cryptospace while a communist country like China are slowly allowing it through Hong Kong as the go between.

Another head shaking thought is only 2 years ago, China and Hong Kong were banning people under their jurisdictions from using crypto hehe. They were also closing people's bank accounts because they had transactions related to cryptocoin exchanges and services.

Are we in a simulation?
1406  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Tornado cash still up and usable? on: June 27, 2023, 02:49:36 AM
News update. This news is 3 weeks old and I have noticed it only yesterday.

It appears that the question is answered. Tornado Cash is still up and usable hehe. According to their latest update, version 2 of their mixer will implement proof of innocence where the funds from illegal activities or a blacklist will be blocked from using the mixer.

In any case, the problem this would cause is in ETH's fungibilty. The funds that can pass through version 2 will be worth more than the funds that cannot pass through.

edit: Ahh... Turns out this site is banned in my country. i have to use vpn. OK, I'll try another time

If it is banned in your jurisdiction, do not use a VPN to log in BC.game or any other casinos, exchanges and services that would require their customers to undergo KYC in the future when it is time to withdraw your funds.

We do not want another person going to this thread and post how he was scammed by the site. Also, everyone should always read the site's terms before making a deposit. There were Celsius depositors that have learned this lesson.

I just browsed a bit and found some topics on the bc.game forum where they state they allow vpn (https://forum.bc.game/topic/10137-the-solution-on-the-issue-with-bc-being-blocked-in-some-contries/).
No moderator or admin ever replied on it so best would be to go into livechat and ask about it. I use a VPN on one casino because their livechat confirmed that they allow it.

I used a VPN for a while just to be able to play some providers that are not available for me... but that was last year, I haven't used a VPN for a long time. And I never had some problems because of that, generally, I never had deposit/withdrawal issues at BC.

To use VPN or not to use it will always be a tricky decision to make. With decent deposits/withdrawals and fair play (only slots I can't play otherwise), my experience is fine, I never had any problems. But who knows if everything would be fine in case of hitting some jackpot! Smiley

I reckon if a casino, exchange are any service in the cryptospace is not banned under your jurisdiction and you use a VPN for privacy, this is okay. However, if you are not allowed to use a service because, according to the law, the jurisdiction you are under has banned the service, then you should be more careful.

What would happen when the service asks for KYC and they find out that you are not supposed to be logging in their site? It would appear to them that you are using a VPN to avoid the restrictions imposed under your jurisdiction.
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 26, 2023, 03:33:34 AM
It’s crazy that sites are allowing people to bet on this fight already. As serious as they may seem about it, Elon is so rich and has such an important mission ahead of him, it would be stupid to fight. Imagine human beings never become a multi planetary species because Elon got injured in a fight with the Zuck… Any place I can bet on this fight not happening?

What is crazy is the news. It went from the excitement of BlackRock's ETF application to the tragedy of the Titanic submersible that imploded then Zuck vs. Elon fight. We live in a simulation hehehe.

In any case, Zuck is the favorite with odds of 1.36 being a student of BJJ who has won 2 medals in amateur tournaments.

Odds for this fight not to happen is also available. However, time to wait is only until September 2023.

@zasad@. Witnessing what has happened within 2 weeks, it appears not to be the case with Gary Gensler as the head of the SEC. I warn not to underestimate where Gensler wants to go in his crackdown against the cryptospace. We might have forgotten that Ethereum's founders had their own ICO from July 14, 2014 to September 2, 2014.

This information can be used as part of the SEC's fear tactics in implying that Ethereum might be an illegal security.
1411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NFT Speculation on: June 26, 2023, 01:40:49 AM
This is a head shaking comment from some of the holders of Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs. Do they not know that there are not many people who could afford to buy NFTs that are more than 1 ETH? Bored Apes were worth 60 ETH per NFT before the dump and it is still very expensive at 30 ETH.

However, it is easier to blame someone or something else than making an unbiased assessment on what's happening around them. Asset prices cannot pump forever.

Bored Ape Yacht Club, the top-traded NFT collection, is trapped in a brutal bear market, and holders are blaming the recently launched Blur NFT marketplace.

The reason? Blur has incentivised NFT trading on its marketplace by promising a lucrative token airdrop for top users — free tokens that can be traded on secondary markets for value.

Now traders are playing hot potato with Bored Apes to pump up their activity on the marketplace.

Still, detractors say Blur is having a negative impact on the value of Bored Apes — that’s because traders don’t mind if they buy a Bored Ape and sell it at a loss.

1412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock and Fidelity both apply for bitcoin ETFs on: June 26, 2023, 12:58:31 AM
Rumors or not. I guess this is a good indicator of bullish market for bitcoin and crypto market. Also it seems the headline about sec and binance are startee to become blur and it didnt go their ways.

With the upcoming good news, people anf more institutions would not be hesitant now to pour some funds on crypto. Plenty of newd about legality still a better market noise for crypto market it is.

Agreed. 1 spot ETF approval would cause more spot ETF approvals and this will certainly give institutions who control billions in pension funds and retirement funds some exposure to bitcoin.

Also, remember the pump that occured on March 12? Much of this was CZ's $1 billion conversion of Binance's BUSD holdings into Bitcoin, Ethereum and Binance BNB token. Approve 5 ETFs and I reckon there would be 5 pumps similar to CZ's March 12 pump hehehe.

Given the changes in stable coins and banks, #Binance  will convert the remaining of the $1 billion Industry Recovery Initiative funds from BUSD to native crypto, including #BTC , #BNB  and ETH. Some fund movements will occur on-chain. Transparency.

1413  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: June 24, 2023, 05:37:31 AM
News update.

It appears Binance needs a new strategy. Separate the European Union customers and let them log in on a .eu domain similar to how they are already doing it with Binance.us.

In anycase, what other exchanges like Kucoin and Bybit can learn from Binance's regulatory problems is do not grow too big and be noticed by regulators hehehe.

Belgium's top markets regulator is ordering embattled crypto exchange Binance to immediately cease serving local customers, according to a Friday notice.

The Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) said Binance is "offering and providing exchange services in Belgium between virtual currencies and legal currencies, as well as custody wallet services, from countries that are not members of the European Economic Area," which the regulator says is in violation of a prohibition.

Featherweight: Josh Emmett vs. Ilia Topuria
Women's Flyweight: Amanda Ribas vs. Maycee Barber
Women's Strawweight: Tabatha Ricci vs. Gillian Robertson

Crazy fights await us, and I am talking about the Ilia Topuria against Josh Emmett fight, for me I am seeing Yair Rodriguez to Ilia Topuria but Topuria is durable and surely has a much power output on his striking, so this is again going to be a hard fight for Emmett once again, sorry for Josh Emmett's fans because I really don't see him winning this fight, for me this main event will truly be a great fight and a lot is surely waiting for it to unfold, and I can not wait to see how Ilia Topuria is doing after his win against Bryce Mitchell, and if he could beat Paddy Pimplett someday,

While I see 4 fighting kittens in this event BBC Reporting will surely be delighted with them now feast your eye on these lovely ladies,

Amanda Ribas

Maycee Barber

Tabatha Ricci

Gillian Robertson

These fighting kittens if we check their vital statistics to determine the winner, it would be Amanda Ribas' perfect 34-24-36 winning against Maycee Barber's 33-25-37. For the other fight, it will be Gillian Robertson's 34-24-34 winning against Baby Shark's 33-25-24 hehehe.

In any case, has everyone seen Overeem's body? He is presently on a diet and he looks much thinner. His biceps are bigger than his legs!

1415  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance leaves Netherlands on: June 23, 2023, 01:50:41 AM
Another jurisdiction bites the dust. I reckon once enough exchanges have been expelled from many jurisdictions with traders having nowhere to go, it is possible that much of them will begin trading through DEX and DeFi which will increase the amount of liquidity and volume in these markets.

If DEX and DeFi popularity surpasses centralized exchanges popularity, what also might occur is instead of waiting and speculating for the Binance listing pump, it will be the Uniswap whitelisting pump hehe.

Why are these traditional financial insititutions beginning to enter the cryptospace despite being in the middle of Gensler's crackdown? It is not only BlackRock and Fidelity entering. Citadel Securities and Schwab's EDX cryptocoin exchange has begun their operation. Deutsche Bank has applied for a digital currency license.

It will not be shocking if there was really a consipracy against Binance, Coinbase and the others to have traditional finance do a takeover and rule the cryptospace.

The question for us will be if we would want to use JP Morgan cryptocoin exchange or be forced to hehehe.

You are very fast, I also just saw this question on one of my local forums. It could be said that everything coincided in an unusual and suspicious way. Apparently, everything the SEC does has a bigger purpose behind it, and it's almost clear now. After the crackdown on Binance and Coinbase, the major Wall Street players have officially entered the crypto market. The entry of financial giants into the market is a positive for the market and shows its potential, but your question is also one that deserves attention, and I don't think we'll have a choice.

Yes, I hope everyone uses their brains and should speculate that the SEC under uncle Gary is really acting dishonestly. They regulate the cryptospace through enforcement of unclear rules. The exchanges ask what are the rules to clarify, however, the SEC cannot or will not give them an answer. This is a very head shaking situation because the consumer which the SEC was supposed to protect is financially affected everytime they announce something about the crackdown.
1418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: June 21, 2023, 02:33:53 AM
Agreed. However, if Trump wins against the lawsuits made against him, I am quite certain Trump would be ahead of sleepy Joe in the polls. What the Democrats are doing to Trump, they are making him a martyr. This is the effect if they keep on persecuting him politically.

Trump's odds to become the next president are also not that far behind from Biden. I do not know how or when his case ends but if he is proven innocent and if he is allowed to run for president, it might be a landslide victory for the Donald. The Democrats should pray that hopefully he is convicted.

If he is up by 6 points, then we can assume that the public is solidly behind him. Given the complications within the American legal system, I don't think that a verdict will be given out before the 2024 POTUS elections. So in all probability Trump will be fighting the elections under the shadow of conviction. Chances of Trump being proven innocent? That depends upon the interpretation because the Democrats are never going to admit defeat irrespective of whatever happens during the legal process. They believe that it will make him more unpopular. But recent polls suggest otherwise.

However, as you have mentioned, the poll was done by a biased source being a right wing group that might be trying to create some hype behind Trump. It would be safer to assume he is closely behind Biden similar to what the betting odds are suggesting.

In any case, if Trump is entering the presidential race while his case is also ongoing then the outcome of the election will imply if he is free or not. If he wins then as the president of America, he is legally immune from the civilian court. If he loses, the Democrats continue to persecute him and charge cases against him to make surwe that he goes to prison.
