1461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Info & Discussion on: May 26, 2014, 02:00:04 PM
found in the old thread:

I'm pleased to bring you the return of this thread. OP has been updated, thanks for flying Un.

Turned off for three months? No explanation? And we are expected to come rushing back? No Sir!

In my mind, this is now the official UNO thread. Falling Knife bust his a** for the last several months. I have no doubt about his commitment to UNO. As I see it, he is THE leader of the UNO community. Unless he tells me otherwise, as Tony Soprano used to say, that old thread is "dead to me".

Have to agree myself.

A website will rock!

Yep, bitcoininformation has been doing an awesome job putting a site together for me Smiley

Quote
lost jobs because of automation

This relates to luddism which is centuries old.   People never like becoming redundant in their jobs but it can be a step forward, we dont need people to serve petrol or even take the cash for it.  We can choose to have people do it anyway but generally buyers dont need or require this and so every other old job like this goes away and we find new things for people to work at like making webpages or whatever.
Automation continuously shifts the minimum required iq to be productive. What happens when this minimum is higher than society's average?

The normies vote other people's property away like any self-serving democracy of course! Smiley

Seems to be like the wind right now? Anyone know why the Houdini act of a sudden?

I thought that this was a fairly well used pool, but I guess I was wrong as I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else.

Since I am shamelessly promoting my Mtgox Commiserative coin in any thread I follow to do with the Mtgox debacle, perhaps a few of you guys will get a kick out of them Smiley

They're well priced and come in silver plated copper-nickel or solid .999 fine silver strikes, check out the thread if you think you'd be interested! I'd also love to hear your thoughts and opinions. Smiley

Greed is definitely something that destroys or taints so many good things.
This coin is the start of something good.  Smiley
Finally as well the review should go live next week and a draft will be to you by sunday.
That should help as well.

That's great ManeBjorn! I'm trying to get a website going so things are a little more professional! Hopefully that will be ready for the article.
1467  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Silver and copper coins- Goxxed For The Last Time a (commiserative) coin on: May 23, 2014, 08:42:26 PM

Well, every bit helps right? We have a proverb for that in The Netherlands: Wie 't grote niet eert is 't kleine niet weerd?. It sucks that you lost BTC in that bullshit exchange and I hope you can earn a bit back with this project (and upcoming projects). Because you deserve it as well. I wish you all the best!

I would love to mint coins myself, but I have no idea how to do that nor do I have creative mind to think of something nice. Roll Eyes

I hope that my small donations help. That's an interesting saying Smiley

It does suck- but it was my fault for still using them. I knew better, but I was greedy with all the crazy volatility. I actually warned my friends against using them myself! Should have taken my own advice, so should one of my friends in particular!

I appreciate your kind words. If you're interested I'd be happy to share the details of the designing and manufacturing of my coins with you. I had no idea how to go about it until I did this project. It's been a great learning process but I think the best thing has been meeting lots of new people in the community.
1468  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Silver and copper coins- Goxxed For The Last Time a (commiserative) coin on: May 23, 2014, 07:54:06 PM

I admire you for donating 10% to charity. It might not be much, but I think that every person that had BTC on Mt.Gox should be thankful that you are doing this. I love it when people give back to the community. So, thanks a lot for doing this.

I know it's not much, but I'm just starting out. I'm hoping that as I build momentum, I'll be able to donate more. It takes a few grand in total to help free an individual from NK. My aim is to raise at least that much in the next year or two for Liberty in North Korea through my projects and donations.

As to people being thankful about me doing this. I and a few of my friends had BTC in there, this project wasn't about poking fun or getting revenge, but about awareness, reflection and perhaps a little humour actually Wink

You and the community are welcome. It's been great fun and I appreciate your purchase.
1469  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Silver and copper coins- Goxxed For The Last Time a (commiserative) coin on: May 23, 2014, 07:48:40 PM
I just bought one of your coins using eBay and it was just marked as shipped, so thanks a lot dude. Can't wait to have this piece in my hands. Grin

To tell you the truth, it will be shipped first thing tomorrow morning! On a Friday I tend to mark items as shipped that I post on Saturday.

I'm glad that you're excited about it, I've had a great time making them.
1470  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Gox bankruptcy email on: May 23, 2014, 07:28:29 PM
Yeah I also got one. I'm not interested anyways, I had no funds with them. But hastily I opened the pdf attachment.  Undecided
Does anyone know if there's a virus/malware issue with this attachment?

Care to post the contents? I didn't open it myself so I have no idea if it's malicious or not.
1471  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: T13hydra - Thread Locked, Unofficial Disscusion on: May 23, 2014, 11:06:46 AM
Hey, no update as of yet, I need to phone again. But I'm not sure why I'm not getting any response.

I'm really sorry, I've been letting you all down by not being proactive enough in following this up. I have not forgotten though.

Yeah I got it recently too. Smells like scam.
1473  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Watercooled Mining Rig 2x 7950s (room for one more) on: May 19, 2014, 09:49:28 PM
For sale is this awesome watercooled mining rig, I'm selling as I'm trying to downsize.

£1,150 ono

No HDD included, but I could include a 500GB Seagate if you want.

I'll update with some hires pictures this week, here's a quick shot for reference with the cover off:

Info as follows:

Custom Built PC - Fully Water-Cooled with Premium EK Copper blocks and Top Of The Line External Radiator

Built by myself - water-cooling fully serviced by myself.

Look up how much these components all cost individually. I paid a lot more than they add up to, so it's a pretty good deal for anyone looking for a great watercooled miner or a monster gaming PC.

All in all, this adds up to over £2,000 when the parts were bought new.

Case
Coolermaster HAF-X (all fan's removed from inside of case - as everything is fully water-cooled)

Motherboard
Asus Rampage II Extreme (all chipsets water-cooled, including MOSFET, Northbridge + Southbridge)

CPU
Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping 2nd Gen Quad-Core overclocked can reach 4.2GHz (watercooled), is not currently overclocked as I only use it to mine with the GPUs.

GPU
X2 Sapphire 7950 OC both with EK water blocks, one copper and one nickel, the nickel comes with an EK backplate too  (see pictures)

RAM
12GB Corsair Dominator Triple Channel @ 1600MHz 1.65V (watercooled)

PSU
Hiper 880W Moduler PSU

Extra Peripherals
USB 3 front ports fitted (currently disconnected but easily reconnected)
Akasa Fan Control
LG Blu-Ray - HD DVD - CD/DVD Optical Drive fitte
Asus X-FI Supreme sound-card fitted with the motherboard in an independent PCI Slot (separate, see below)
PCI 300mbit Wireless card
USB Soundcard (good quality not the cheap little dongles you can get)

Water-Cooling
XPSC D5 Dual Bay Reservoir
XSPC Laing D5 Variable Speed Pump
Watercool MO-RA3 9x140 Pro External Radiator (9 silent 800RPM fans fitted into the Akasa Fan Control)
EK Waterblocks on the CPU - RAM - Motherboard MOSFET - Motherboard Chipsets
Aquatuning 19/13mm Black Nickel Plated Compression Fittings
Aquatuning Clear Transparent Tubing
EK Blood Red Coolant currently flowing, comes with 2 bottles of branded UV green coolant to replace as I will drain it for transport if requested.

(This water-cooling setup is a beast for anybody that know's their stuff in the water-cooling world)

Everything is in perfect condition. No faults or hidden breakages.

CPU hits around 38 degrees under full load. For anybody who is experienced in over-clocking will know that's a very good temperature under full load.

The 7950s run between 43-54c depending on the ambient temperature and settings.

There is one more slot on the motherboard for another card, though you would probably need to use a riser with how bulky the 7950s are with their water blocks.

Watercooling will be attached the the computer as it is, I can disconnect the radiator to drain ect for pickup or delivery.

It is to your own discretion whether you want to drain the water-cooling and re-assemble to after purchase.

I think I have covered everything - if you have any questions, just drop me a message or reply.

Pickup or delivery, delivery should be around £50-60.

If you're in London or the surrounding area I can deliver it myself potentially free depending on the distance.

I dunno, the thought (for me personally) of having Mark's face on a coin I buy...is just....wrong.

Ha. I understand, this is why I did not decide to go too detailed. I thought that would be verging on creepy.
1475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 42 | + super rare | + only 42 coins to be mined | + Update b4 Block 55,000 on: May 18, 2014, 05:25:43 PM

Cry los senores hava a speak'd

v0.7.0.0 /is it ok?

I'm not sure what you mean by this, but I still stand by my assumption that a fork still empowers the previous devs, assuming of course they still hold any 42.

Better a new coin with little premine and trusted backing.

will you create physical Unobtanium-tokens later? We could possibly help you with the marketing of those.

As I wrote somewhere before, I have a simple idea for some UNO related coins. I can start looking into them soon. Thanks for the interest. I'll start thinking about material and design and bounce some ideas around. I'd like to move on from my stencil-like design here and have something simple, memorable, but with more depth than my vector art so far :@)
